    I absolutely LOVE the episodes with Hannah! She is so articulate and provides such great practical tips!

    I feel like Hannah's experience in Costa Rica is a good example for the 30/30 section. Your perception of how hard something feels can change based on experience. If you do 30/30s a 3minute vo2max effort in your race might feel bad. But if you do 3 minute vo2max a 2 minute vo2max in a race might feel pretty easy in comparison.

    I once was on assignment for work in San Jose Costa Rica. Left from San Jose and rode part of a La Ruta stage. The climbing was crazy hard. I was dying. It was great to finally descend. Kudos to Hannah!

    Costa Rica mud section sounds similar to a segment in Fiiji which the riders described as walking thru peanut butter...

    I'm getting vibes of that horse scene in Neverending Story when Hannah was describing her race.

    Cyclocross is course and condition dependent. If it's flat, dry grass, you'll want to train more anaerobic and sprint, if it's a muddy slog you'll want to train more low cadence threshold.

    I just did andrews plus 1 in erg mode. As you know, standing for the sprints is difficult because the resistance doesn't build. It would be nice if there was a rev limiter in erg mode, so for example, you could set the rev limiter at 105 or whatever and when you got there resistance would build quickly to make it more like a real sprint. Since we can't do that, would it be possible to make workouts editable so I could change the intensity of the sprint to be more realistic.

      I would also like the rev/watt increase buffer line in workouts for the fact l would love to be able to stand more often as 2hrs in the saddle in erg mode means seated and numb zones!

    The gators in Florida are usually pretty chill. They either dash away when they see you or they don’t move at all. The big 12’+ gators won’t move at all, they look at you like a snack 😂 You can easily ride by the big ones but I’m always ready to do a 1-5 minute max power effort.😅

    Depends on the competition level obviously, I started taking ADHD medication after my collegiate track career (in Canada) but later found out that teammates of mine took it with appropriate medical sign off (TUE I suppose) throughout their track career. That would have been about 10 years ago in what was CIS (Canadian Interuniversity Sport) at the time, now USports. (Essentially our NCAA)
    I take it on weekdays now, but prefer NOT to take it on days when I am going to be doing hard workouts, as my heart rate is just a little higher when I'm on it vs. not, and I'd rather not have that extra stress on it. I do agree that it's life changing, though, in terms of it's ability to get me out of my own way and let me direct my energy to the places that I really want to direct it.

    Stephen Seiler posted a yt video on his channel about short interval stacks. His conclusion was that 30/30s are a threshold workout while 30/15s are a VO2max workout.

      @barrydunne78 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Your wrong the heart rate response on a chart will look like threshold effort, if 30/30 are done right you have to max out the 30's. It's about time in zone above 90% max heart rate if done right

    • @oldanslo
      @oldanslo ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@barrydunne78 You are ignorant. You have never 'maxed out the 30's' for a 20 minute set of 30/30s.

    👋🏻 Hey!! I’m like Nate and late diagnosis with ADHD and meds are life changing! I did grow up racing quarter midgets (like go carts) , and I that is where I could shine because when I sat in the car ready for the race never failed I was charged up with adrenaline. My reflexes and focus were on point. Later endurance sports provided that easy cruise of dopamine that got me through mental tasks at work. When I went back to school I ended up in the DRs office saying I don’t have enough time for school, work, and a 3 hr ride so I can sit down and do homework! So here is what I’m thinking motocross riders.. hmmm Johnathon I think the adderall might have been for recreation? Just a thought.

    30-30s are for training lactate clearance

    One Vo2 session every 5 sessions is enough long term. You can push more short term but it will wear you out. Note, the german 2004 4km team pursuit olympic winners did only 6 high intensity sessions plus several preparation races in the last 100 days before olympics. And that is a 4min race ! But they rode 30'000km per year. Just dial down intensity frequency. More is NOT better.
