Never seen this car in the UK, can spot the Ford DNA though... Nice build, all looks matched and thought about as the performance and looks score well. The interior work looks to be planned and well executed. Gets a thumbs up from me.

I always said I will never own a ugly au,looks like a turtle on wheels lol,but I needed up buying a au Tickford with the ts 50 body kit,it looked great,the au is a underrated car,great platform to build up,it was just the forte modals that looked shit but drove very well
Thanks for making this video! Definitely a unique AU XR8 with the barra conversion! I see there would be some appeal and market for this car and well done for the owner on the time and effort that has gone into the build! My personal preference would be to stick with the 5lt Windsor in the au, for me putting the barra motor in has lost its appeal and character! There are things like upgrading to BA/BF brakes and making slight performance modifications which make more sense to me but at the sametime I respect and appreciate this build!
I think our man needs to come over to south australia - the land of the non existent regi inspection to see some truly mentally built cars. Near me there is a barra powered 2 door toyota and its absolutely ficken mental.
Mint au 👌 However it's not making 1100nms ,that's tractive effort lol or his tuners telling him porkey pies Realistically it'll be around 750nms ,my fg is at 358kw (480whp) 775nms in a manual ,no way a barra with less hp and auto is making 330nms more torque than I am. Not dissing on the owner at all just educating, a lot of tuners faking torque readings to sell tunes, it's a dishonest and an abhorrent practice and it needs to stop. Take it to reputable shop and run it up again, if in Sydney go to empire ,in Melbourne dynamite performance, maxx performance ,gm-f performance all of em do the tuning correctly and don't give u bs numbers. There's a video floating around yt explaining how shops are faking torque and hp numbers 👍
It was tuned by a “ reputable “ shop by 2 of the places you listed and both shops gave same torque figures with in 50nm of each other and the last tune was at maxx performance 6 months ago and was tuned by dynamite performance before that 💁🏼♂️ and on a hub dyno at maxx as well ….
I love it when ppl are able to keep their first cars and do em up like this. Truly shows you can bond with a car and turn it into a weapon
