What kind of animal do you have? Please google "spay neuter assistance program near me" because there's more resources than you think. There's not only the ASPCA but there's grant programs with the county and even private Vets who will help. There's programs like "Fix a Pit' for all pit bulls and pit bull mixes and "Trap-Neuter-Return program" for cats.. You may have to fib and say "you found or trapped the cat" to get the assistance but hey, do what you gotta do for your animal!

Dat kitty wuvs his new mommy. Adorable. I know getting a cat helped me so much when I was working through my depression and anxiety after I lost my mother. Taking care of another living creature and having them rely on you teaches you a lot about managing your emotions and makes you responsible for something. I know that everyone thinks Richie needs therapy and, maybe he does, but he seems to be taking a positive step forward in learning what it's like to actually care for something.

Okay, but can people let the man be? He obviously loves his little kitten and he wouldn’t abuse it. Especially if he drove that way to pick him up. With all of you saying “oh it’s because of him being manipulative”, that’s why he got the cat, to help himself recover. My friend’s dad literally got her a puppy to help her own mental help. Animals help. Yes, you might hate him, but everything is in the past, and hey, maybe Scorn will help Richie’s mental health more. You guys never know, especially if it’s early in the time he has adopted the cat. Also, not everyone wants to adopt from a local animal shelter. That was his choice not to do so. Guess what? Not everyone has a good connection with animals there. I know for certain I didn’t have a strong connection when I was finding my own cat.
All in all, just leave him be. His decisions won’t hurt you. Didn’t mean to go on a whole rant, but ya know? I did.

Ninja Fingers he did not adopt this one. he got it from a breeder who purposely breeds a certain animal for profit or sell them to people who show the animals in contests.. the ones who are unfortunate and don't get adopted are in animal shelters, but correct they are the ones least adopted. we adopted our black cat who was abandoned at three months. he is three years now and amazing, but don't be mistaken, he bought the cat from a breeder not a shelter. breeding a certain kind of black cat when the person might go to an actual shelter were so many back cats need good home's or get put to sleep because people feel they are "unlucky". he is a cutie though.

I feed my cat science diet and raw meat. Not everyone has to feed their cats the best but he could a stepped it up from the meow mix. Medium grade? Something!

Also one more, i saw someone mention you had meow mix and i would definitly try something else. Meow mix is crap (not intending to offend just to inform). Look for something grain free (like purina beyond). Thats what i used before my cat had to switch to a special diet. Also try to incorporate wet food into meals as well. I usually mix wet and dry or sometimes just wet or sometimes just dry to mix it up. Just trying to help a new mother out :)
