You only get hurt if you over leverage, sell too soon, or open them. Otherwise, it's a cash cow. Every single booster box from the past is in profit. Nothing will change just gotta be patient.
It’s the Pokémon center ETB that are getting out of hand. The demand is higher now because a lot of people jumped on the ship. Best way is to treat it like stock and let your boxes sit because these things age like fine wine.
We already know that. Its from the new wave of hype chasers coming in recently. Weve seen it before. They will flip and leave. And the next wave will come in the next time. You see everyone on reddit currently just hyped up and excited saying "just got back in" or "my 1st purchase".
Demand is coming from older gens. Coming back into the hobby cuz of 151 or whatever set. They'll collect what they want and careless about the rest. Doubt they pay for inflated boxes. Sets like twilight going up is because of demand for playable cards. It's still a TCG.
I think that's the big question. You say you doubt they'll pay for inflated but some have yet to hit MSRP. I wonder what happens when we get there. But I'm sure a lot of people, as you mentioned, won't want to pay for overpriced boxes. I'd imagine demand slows down. Love the thoughts!
@@LuckyBunnyTCG I got back in with 151. hadn't bought cards since the 1st gen. I completed 151. I do enjoy the hobby though. I go into shops to buy singles (illustration rares mainly ATM). Maybe that's just me. But I also see many others around my age stopping by saying something similar. Got into the tcg again too and see why sets like paldea or twilight are in demand. (playable cards plus cool chase cards). Just my 2 cents. Hate slabs and scalpers :p
Ok, so here's the way I'd look at it. I'm sure a lot of people are going to have opinions on this, but I don't think anyone knows what's to come. Here's a quick run-down on it. If it's constantly being sold out and getting hands on it is impossible, for the next year or so, then without a doubt it's going to be worth more than MSRP even during it's "print run" time. If the Pokemon Company decides to print so much that it begins to over saturate the market, it will time time for it to return to MSRP and then we'll probably see the spike then. It can break down in a lot of ways but that's kind of the easiest way to break it down in a quick TH-cam comment.
What is really odd to me is just how short sighted a lot of people are towards this “boom”. We are going to see more product for all of the SV sets and Pokémon will continue printing each of the sets. Prismatic evolutions is going to release more product through the year. The non-holiday sets are going to continue to exist at retail. Heck, 151 is getting a restock in February. FOMO is driving these sales and people are acting like this product will be gone forever. I would say sit tight if you didn’t hit the first wave because the second will come soon enough. I just hope that people stop acting like total doofuses like with the mini tins at Costco.
That's not true. They just want to make money. If you over reprint all the sets you waterdown the market and scare off future investors. Plus they have to keep up with demand and the release of their many products.
If your a collector kl but if your an invester your a ultra noob especially after saying about OBF... Price rises all together due to the inflation fallacy, complete world reprice hence price go up. Print twice the amount of money = asset price rise Higher highs & higher lows Do your 10 thousand hrs kids because not all sets get reprinted & also in sv we have been given a extra set for the 1st time. Opening packs always lead to dead pulls that's why we collect booster boxes ect
Oh for sure, that's how it all started for me. Losing because I only opened boosters -_- If only I saw the light. I also had a lot of mixed TH-camrs I was listening to and some of the things I heard I was so quick to just jump and do even if I didn't understand why.
Slaps @ 1.5x speed
Lmao
I'll keep that in mind brother, thanks!

Obsidian flames to the moon
@@robertromero8094 I remember getting some Obsidian Flames easily at $90 last year, crazy to see the price increase going into this year.

This is why I had to stop collecting it was getting to expensive and it was hard to keep up
@@Rosie_679 I feel that. It's getting expensive again so be careful out there!
Prismatic evo and rocket are monster sets then bail until the literal next gen of cards. Always just buy the peak sets
Seems like the plan I'd follow.

It's all about supply and demand

Very true. It's a cycle in my eyes. Some sets will surely get left behind a bit but not all of them.
Pokemon wants boxes to be MSRP. They will continue to print accordingly.
