As a fairly devout pokemon fan. If I'm pissed at anyone, it's Gamefreak/Nintendo for holding the franchise back from what it could be. The fact that it still thrives in its current state is sad. This is less than half the price of a pokemon game and about 700% more fun.
Pokemon is as stagnant as it is because of fans, nobody is willing to stop purchasing the product long enough to really force them to do more. They are a titan who will be toppled and they did it to themselves sadly

Spending 60 bucks on an unfinished product just so you can get shitty graphics with a side of lag and a sprinkle of hand holding just so you can spend more money on a monthly subscription to play with others and some DLC that’s just as much as the game. The mainline Pokemon games have had the same formula since the original Gameboy. I'd assume that Palworld's success would put pressure on Nintendo and Gamefreak to Pokemon. Pokemon Legends Arceus was unique and many fans loved the new spin on the Pokemon formula. Hopefully this game pushes them to innovate again

As much as I love Pokémon, Palworld has me in a chokehold bc of how fun it is. I haven’t even explored all of the areas in the game and I’ve got so much stuff to do. While Pokémon fans are stuck unable to go inside buildings like the older generations, unfinished full releases, and no open world (except Legends Arceus in a way)

If pokemon or gamefreak was smart they would learn from this and make a remake blue, red, and green staring ash catch'em based in the kanto region. A game like dragon ball kakorot for the pokemon cartoon staring ash would sell like gang busters.

Ok so a quick history drop dragon quest came out 1986 pokemon 1996 and if you look at them side by side they look very similar. Japan doesn't have fair use like the US. Pokemon had 3 year to do something and haven't. If anything pokemon took from dragon quest first. Also palworld is an evolution of a game genre. Not just that we were as a community mad at Nintendo for stopping the smash bros community for doing tournaments and now we want to protect the muti billion company. 😂
