Yes!!! We went to Sadrvan when we visited Mostar in 2011. The food is fantastic! I thought the place looked familiar from your video. We sat out on the patio by the fountain and enjoyed the cats. Good choice!
thank you so much for showing my beautiful country in its full potential. I allways tought we deserve more attention. and this video made my mouth water, i'm making tufahija and stuffed onion tonight. Good job and thank you
Love your video. That's my home town. I live in California now. I left during the Warr as refuge. I miss it so much and this is great that I can show to my kids how my home town looks like. Love your expressions guys.
I love your videos and I hope so that you liked your time there. You should try Janjetina in Jablanica, and Travnički ćevapi in Travnik and Sutlija next time when you are in Bosnia:) Hugs from Bosnia, guys
I just found your channel and i am from Bosnia, Sarajevo. I am happy that you like our food, i LOVE LOVE LOVE tufahija it's true love to me Haha, but you have to try it in Sarajevo place named Kolobara.
How funny , that's the way I have described my wife's eating habit , the Energiser Bunny eater . When I described to my wife what you were saying about Audrey's eating she jumped up to her defense , "let the poor girl eat !" . Love what you do and you have made Mostar a must for us within a year or two ... thank you so much x
We are back from our Central European trip, trying to think of "the best dish" ? One of the best were "Swabian Pockets" rather large ravioli-like pasta stuffed w/ pork and spinach, served over Bavarian sauerkraut !! So good !! Also our hockey game in Prague was super fun ! The fans really get into the game,, standing for most of it !! Already planning for "the trip" next year ! HAPPY NEW YEARS and safe travels !!
Wow, Bravo! Love the way you guys are uninhibited in the way you share your meal experiences. You just jump in and enjoy, which is what the celebration of food is all about. And you really tell it like it is. If we wind up in Mostar, we'll try your favorite restaurant. It's great too that you mention the prices - I've paid more for less in other places. It's always a treat when you get a great meal and are surprised at the end what value you got out of it. Thanks much for sharing.
You should take some bread in your hand and put it in the sauce in dolma plate and eat it after you eat all dolma that is the best thing of all dish... at least i do that when i eat my homemade dolma ... btw thank you so much guys for coming in Bosnia and for prezenting our country and our food on such nice way love yaa 😚😚
Hey Sam and Audrey I love you guys and hope I don't bother you but you're basically my travel gurus so after a cheap attempt at flattery... My friend and I are going 3 nights in Dubrovnik and she's really keen on making a day trip, and we're split between Kotor and Mostar (she's vegan), what do you think?? ♥ All the best!
Thank you! Oh, that is a good question. I think Mostar is more different than Dubrovnik than Mostar is compared to Dubrovnik so I would suggest Mostar if you don't have time to do both.
Samuel and Audrey ( I doubt you'll see this and respond but) I found out about you channel from my sister. I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL! I just subscribed a few weeks ago but I LOVE YOUR CONTENT!
Since you like Balkan food, you can have it in GTA. There is a nice small restaurant on McAdam Rd, behind Highland Farms supermarket in Mississauga. It's name is McAdam Place. Granted, i'm biased, cause i'm from Balkans, but food is excellent, big portions, and low prices. For example, mixed grill plater (meshano meso) for 2 is arond 25 CAD. And no, this is not an ad, just that me and my co-workers love going there ....
If you are looking for exotic and weird dishes (warms, frogs, etc) you may want to visit the amazonic region. If you're looking for the BEST Ecuadorian food (seafood included) you should visit the province of Manabí in the coast (sorry for my totally biased suggestion but ask any ecuadorian and they will say the same). Some of the dishes that I highly recommend are The "Tonga", the "Murico al vapor", the "Seco de gallina criolla en horno de leña"(the more rustic the place looks the more delicious it gets!). Some of the most famous appetizers are the "corviche"(Ask for fried or baked. I personally prefer fried due to its crispness), "Empanadas de verde", "bollo de pescado" and "panes de yuca/almidon". If you like soups, I highly recommend the "viche de mariscos", the ecuadorian "ceviche" and the "encebollado"(this one is most known for killing hangovers! And people mostly enjoy it as a breakfast dish). Your videos are so cool, my favourite one is the one you filmed in Toronto. Every time I watch it, it brings me memories of the time I studied there :) Keep going with your videos, you guys rock!:)
Thank you very much! Just looked at some images and the Seco de gallina criolla en horno de leña looks so so good! I'm going to save this information for when we visit Ecuador someday :)
First one @5:33 is called as '' Dolma '' and second one @6:59 is called as '' Sarma '' .By the way, in almost all Turkic countries at central Asia , you can find '' Dolma '' and its versions in their cuisine.
Baklaba is being sold here in Saudi Arabia by the kilo and the more pistachio in it the better. After I viewed your video, I ran to the kitchen hahaha! REPLY
biliyorum, but here in Bosnia we make kaymak so it is a bit hard in texture when placed on a hot (sicak) yaprak or sogan dolma it melts slowly and just gives more flavor try it kardes
Michio Kushi , father of Macrobiotics says we need to chew our food 40x before swallowing. Chewing is an important part of the digestion process. At least chew it enough to turn it to puree before swallowing. Sam's dish reminds me of the late 1960s and early 70s when Julia Child introduced Americans to French cooking. That was when wine/butter/cream sauces were all the rage in gourmet cooking. Maybe it is the camera but it looks like you guys are taking GIGANTIC sized bites. (It isn't a race.) If you take smaller bites and savor the flavor, you won't have to chew as much and you can talk more easily and explain what you are eating instead of forcing it down your throats before you should ..
Guys im enjoying watching u eating!!!Just keep eating dont care for comments !I ove u both!!!Polite and beatifull couple!!!If u hv plans to come again in montenegro be free to contact me,ill send u by email all most beatifull places which u need to see !!!Much love and hugs!!!And greetings for our neighbours in Bosnia ♥
the stuffed peppers are not dolmas...they are 'punjena paprika' aka 'stuffed peppers' and its not only Bosnian, that is a Croatian dish too :) i make them on the regular, its one of my favourite foods.
This troll doesn't know that because he does not live in BH he just follows Austrio Hungarian idea from 19th century according to which the whole south of Bosnia is exclusively Croatian land..poor Dalmatian
Nada Batori We call stuffed vine leaves "japrak". In Turkey it would be called yaprak dolma since Turks call any stuffed veggie "dolma" but in Hercegovina we use dolma just for stuffed pepers, Sarma for cabage or collard greens stuffed leaves.

Ćevapi for SURE. It's so Bosnian and my fav dish. I recommend ćevapi from Sarajevo or Travnik. Travnik is a beautiful town not far away from Sarajevo. And my other fav is ofc burek. When are you guys coming to Ecuador? Here's plenty of amazing and delicious food :)
Thanks! I hope we can soon :) What would you suggest we try first?

That is cool to hear! Same or different name in Turkey?
First one @5:33 is called as '' Dolma '' and second one @6:59 is called as '' Sarma '' .By the way, in almost all Turkic countries at central Asia , you can find '' Dolma '' and its versions in their cuisine.
It's Ottoman cuisine you can find variations of dolma and sarma in all former Ottoman countries
agreed, you are right.

Hi Audrey & Sam, it’s yogurt that they serve with the dolma, not cream. :)
yok it's kaymak not yogurt
Krigla Kriglich Could be, you’re probably right. But it’s unusual for me, we usually eat dolma with yogurt, not kaymak.
biliyorum, but here in Bosnia we make kaymak so it is a bit hard in texture when placed on a hot (sicak) yaprak or sogan dolma it melts slowly and just gives more flavor try it kardes
Krigla Kriglich Today I learned something new from you. Thanks kardes!
Thanks for letting us know!
good job boss
You should try to eat in Turkey
We do have some older Turkey vlogs on the channel. Thanks for watching, Selime! :)
Thank you for your feedback, have a healthy day😊
After watching so many cats your channel should be called Samuel and Audrey - Videos de viajes, comidas y gatos
LOL, this is so true. Maybe we'll start another side project for a cat (gatos) channel in the future...jaja
Nice
Thanks
it's not cream on DOLMA, it is yogurt
Oh, thanks for letting us know.
Is it halal?
Guys is this restaurant halal?
To be honest not entirely sure but I imagine Mostar definitely has them.

Loving the videos but guys, for fuck's sake get a wide angle lens! Hardly any of the food shots were fitting in the frame together with the subject
Thanks! Yeah, we should get a wider lens.
the stuffed peppers are not dolmas...they are 'punjena paprika' aka 'stuffed peppers' and its not only Bosnian, that is a Croatian dish too :) i make them on the regular, its one of my favourite foods.

You are not in Bosnia, you are in Herzegovina ❤ and you consume Turkish food. The wine you are drinking is typical wine from Herzegovina.
almost all foods is from turkey .my culture (turkey ) and bosnian(stayed fromottoman) is mixed and same
Thanks for the information.
Not even close! Different taste and way of cooking the food. I ate turkish and bosnian. Not even CLOSE!
then you neither ate bosnian nor turkish. because both cuisines are 98% same.
Fried steak with mushroom gravy is gringo food
Our mistake with that.
do not you know that a cap in the restaurant is badly raised

Those two are like in the top 5 must have dishes along sarma, dolma and other ones. I like you guys very much. Safe travels ✌
You should eat the baklava with your hands
