I received Outer Rim and Unfinished Business for Christmas. You have made learning the rules so much easier. I think I will have fun with this title. I love how the story played out. I can see many surprises because of so many Data Cards.

Great play, however at 18:00 you shouldn't have gained 5.000 credits. Namely this is covered in pg.21 of Rules Reference:
"If an ability uses the word “to,” a player must completely resolve the effect that occurs before the word “to,” in order to resolve the effect that occurs after the word “to.” Example: If an ability allows a player to lose 1 Hutt reputation to gain 1 fame, that player cannot gain the fame if they already have negative Hutt reputation."

Now sorely tempted, love Xia and expansions but also star wars fan. This looks cool and just seen the extra AI variants/files on BGG. Would love to see a reskin/combo of the two.
Your playthroughs will likely push me to buy Outer Rim and Unfinished Business when it is back in stock sonewhere.
Thanks, yeah I misread that card. I think I wanted Solo on my team too bad, mostly because he is a character I recognize. 🙂 Ohh, Xia. That is one I need to try again. It's been a while. Yeah, if the playthrough looked fun, you like pick up and deliver, and you are a Star Wars fan then I think Outer Rim is a slam dunk. Thanks for watching starman!
Need to say and despite you observation of distraction from technical problems I loved the lighting and the profile lift it gave to the components giving the whole production a noticeably better presentation than may other Outer Rim playthroughs I have watched.

Jyn Erso is my favorite character in Star Wars. I hope she is included in the main edition. Because I haven't bought the expansion yet. 😂 And as always, Thanks for the great video.

At 18:00 because you are at negative syndicate reputation you can't actually do that card.
You know, I looked that up in the rulebook and I couldn't find where it said you must be able to lose the rep. All I could find is a statement that said you ignore any extra rep gain or loss, so I assumed this was allowed.
I could have won if I was paying a bit more attention and just grabbed the dangerous 2 fame job. This playthrough was plagued by tech issues and weird camera settings, etc. so I was definitely more distracted than usual.
I was getting insanely lucky all throughout the game, especially with dice rolls that I had no business even attempting let alone succeeding. I found it amused how unstoppable I was for no good reason -- like most protagonists. Thanks for watching and for all your support Alec. It makes a huge difference!
13:45 Han Shoots I mean Rolls First! lol I like it when games come down to the wire. I like what the expansion adds. I got the special 3D gray plastic reputation sliders and a $15 rewards discount when I bought it from my FLGS.

I just purchased this today. But skipped on the expansion…. for now. It is pricey. For less than half the price I purchased Under Falling Skies. I wonder, do I miss out on the same amount of game play by sticking with the core game and purchasing a new, highly ranked, campaign game to play? Doubt it. Will get that expansion, but, let’s put a few core game plays under the belt first.
Great job on the video, but, I may as well just copy and paste that because you are one of the best content creators out there now. You put the love and time into it. Reminds me of Colin from One Stop Coop Shop. You both just love to play.

You can totally get several plays out of the base game without the expansion. It is definitely overpriced, as all expansion are. I'm hating how expansions have become such a huge part of the hobby, and increasingly more essential. That said, Unfinished Business definitely completes the game.
But Under Falling Skies is awesome. I've been wanting to do a video but I need to play it more. Great pick up, though. Up there with Warp's Edge. Thanks again for everything!
I think you did this a couple times throughout, but the AI will not consciously avoid patrols unless the two paths are equidistant. They will always go for the shortest path to their goal even if it has patrols that would stop them.
Ah, I didn't realize that. Honestly, I think I would house rule that away, because the AI would take many really bad turns for no good reason. Thanks for watching cmdrsils!

Thanks so much Chris. It is easy when filming to get overwhelmed by video, sound, lighting, tech issues, rules, strategy and just the pressure of using language and to forget to be entertaining. I actually felt like I was too dry in this playthrough and I wrote myself a note "Let your personality shine!" Probably good advice in general. Maybe I wasn't as boring as I feared. It is a delicate balance. At the end of the day, I strive to be authentic and I refuse to give that fake energy. Anyway, thanks for the support. It is very appreciated.
On page 8 of the expansion rules it says AI, "must earn two additional fame to win the game." So, technically I think you should have won. :)
Great playthrough! Was wondering why you split it into 3 episodes? Was it because you played it 3 different times? Just curious because I know viewership goes down each subsequent episodes. I absolutely love your playthroughs, excellent production.
That is a good question Nick. I think shorter videos are less intimidating, and my channel is about making board games less intimidating, so I like to break the playthroughs up into shorter pieces. Those who wish to see the game all the way to the end can watch the other videos and those who are only looking for a taste can just stick with the first. Usually when I put it all in one long video, I actually get less engagement and less total watch hours. I care more about watch hours than views, because a bunch of views are less than 30 seconds, or repeat clicks, etc. I'd rather have fewer viewers watching for longer. Anyway, that is probably way more detail than you wanted. Thanks for watching!
