Raleigh Runabout; Ive Ruined the Side Panels!... On Purpose!

  • Today I've painted the side panels for me 1964 Raleigh Runabout RM8, and attempted to match the finish to the rest of the bike....
    which has its original 61 year old paint.....

    looks good condition considering had something similar a long tome ago called easyrider from early 1970s made by NVT which im told stand for Norton Villiers Triumph

    I had one 55 years ago, a great little moped, stick a bigger carb on (2mm bigger) open up the ports and open up the inlet manifold (A dremel is best) you will be amazed at the power increase, you can remove the exhaust baffles but shortening them and repacking them will do and keep it quiet, I paid £8 for mine back in the day, it was almost brand new, 150 miles,
    being a "B" plate it's from the Manchester area,

      Awesome! It goes pretty well for its age!
      This is a Middlesbrough registered bike as the letters for location are DC, unfortunately I'm not able to retain this number as its no longer ger recognised by the DVLA

    t-cut the main frame it should go as bright
