Hey guys, in this video we show you how to remove and replace front brake pads and rotors on Mazda CX-7. This is a demonstration video how we took the front brake pads off and the rotor off to inspect them because we purchased the car at an auction and we do not know anything about it. It is not very complicated procedure to replace the brake pads. Always install new pads, new rotors( or have the old brake rotors turned at a shop). We would recommend to use a special tool to compress the caliper.

Your video was really helpful. I'm changing my father's brake pads this weekend with this video. Thanks!!
The two small screws in the rotor are NOT NEEDED. They are there to hold the rotor on during the vehicle’s moving down the assembly line. That is all they are for. If you screw them up taking them out, throw them away. The tire/rim will hold the rotors on thereafter. New rotors may not have the holes for those screws, no problem.
Great video on the breaks pads I had a question is it the same process to the rear break pads??? Thanks for sharing your knowledge !!👍🏽👍🏽
Good video. Thanks! Great idea about the zip tie.
Do you have to put the shiny back plate back even though the new brake pads have back plate already? I thought I read it somewhere not to reuse them
These dude are great. Thank you for your video.
Great video, Thank you guys.
Again many thanks for your video excellent.
I need to replace my sunroof deflector on my 2007 Mazda CX 7 Grand Touring should I order from Mazda?
Could anyone explain how to remove the center console on my 2008 Mazda CX-7? My shifter is stuck in park and I don’t know what to do.
How many calipers does a Mazda CX-7 have?
MrM6d Those 2 little clips are “squealers” that are supposed to let you know when the pads need to be replaced. As the pad wears downs they will eventually make contact on the rotor and rub on the rotor producing the squealing sound.
Thanks guys!!
Thanks!
Thank you. Great video!!!!!!
very helpful thanks! DIY4LYFE
awesome thank you
All good stuff ,need garage heater
BORAT making youtube DIYs. Great work. BTW, where does the jack positioned? There are not any hard points that I can see. You have a block of wood spanning something.
With the brakes comes the 8 shims and 2 clips. BUT NOWHERE DOES THE INSTRUCTIONS SAY WHERE THE CLIPS GO! The shims are rather obvious. At 10:36 on the top right side you can see the clip on the trailing edge of the inside shoe. Mystery solved! But what does it do?
Um sir you are supposed to change rotors too
Basically this fucking idiot is placing ever exact break part he took off instead actually replacing them...next idiot with a fucked up non speaking proper English in line....move it along idiots we don't have all day for your dumbasses.
Thank you!
