- I had a slight change in direction this week as I very quickly realised that I was a little time poor. But I am very happy with how this room had turned out or at least starting to take shape. There are still more details to add and a sun room to build which will bring the whole space together.
Plywood paneling walls are a hallmark of 1970’s decor
Thanks Jay jay, you are so right. It's amazing how many things you remember from that era that really speaks to the 70's vibe 😊
That fireplace is so cute. Everything just fits and who would ever think that the carpet is a washcloth! I absolutely love your channel Gina I’m glad you created it for me!
Haha, of course Lucy 😉i'm super surprised at how well the shag pile carpet came out, I think I'll do something similar for the bedroom but a different colour.
Totally agree ,fireplace is very cute,I love the whole 70s look in the lounge
Hi Raelene, I've added a little more detail to it today and its looking even better, so happy with how that came together 🙂
You nailed the era. While not my favorite for fashion and design (I was a teen and young adult during that era) I love your work and it’s spot on!
Thank you Barb, yes it's been a lot of fun putting it together especially the pattern on pattern! And the crazy colour combinations!
Yep, that's the 70s. Great job! I'm really impressed how you picked the right vibe without crossing the line into having fun with the 70s. I enjoy both sides, your way is much more rare. I remember that time fondly.
Hi Cassandra, thank you, I’ve really enjoyed getting immersed into the 70’s to create these rooms and there is more to come 😊
Gosh, Gina you have done a great job at recreating the 70s look. I cannot believe that we thought shag carpet was ‘cool’
Hi Coby, yes you are so right! It's one trend that didn't stand the test of time lol I'm really happy with how it's all coming together.
Gorgeous! So we'll done. Thank you for such great videos.
Hi Elizabeth, you are welcome and thank you 🙂
Those chairs are looking very realistic, I love the whole room.
Hi Paloma, thank you, they turned out better than I thought 🙂
if it's the 70's you need an overflowing ashtray!
I have one of those fireplaces, not the hanging one, mine is made to stand on a hearth. I found it in the local dump and brought it home to be my backyard firepit.
Hi Terra, that would make an excellent fire pit, in fact I see some modern ones that have a similar design, maybe not so large at the bottom. If I could get my hands on one, I would definitely do that too.
Giggling, because - I remember70s style far too well!
Hi Brookwyrm, I know that you mean, I do too as I am thinking of ideas 🙂
This is fantastic! Excellent filming and editing, as well as voiceover. I'm so happy I found your channel today.
Can you share what type of mic you're using? It sounds great.
Hi Shyra, thank you for saying, and welcome 🙂
The mic, well, my one actually stopped working so I reverted to using my laptop mic! I do cover any hard surfaces around the laptop so that the sound doesn't bounce around and it seems to work, kind of okay, at least for now.
