I am very curious about your thoughts/experience on the software support from both. Are there frequent updates to improve the obstacle detection and such?

Hahaha the companies really know what consumers want, esp all the auto empty, auto wash features. Totally looking for something like this for my new place - looks like Dreame is it! BTW, For the Dreame is the camera really necessary? Can it be disabled and/or if we tape something over it to block the lens, will the robovac still work? Cos I’m assuming the navigation is via LIDAR which is not dependent on the camera but wanted to check if my understanding is correct. As always, thanks for an awesome comparison video and I always look forward to your candid views and evaluation of all the smart things we can have at home!!!
hmm i didn't try taping the camera, not such how much it will affect the navigation but you can turn the related features off in the app.

Narwal has it long ago in china but it never got released for the international market. So basically any robot that has this feature with auto dust empty (narwal doesnt have) will be top because convenience is the most important to me

Can i just ask, you mentioned in your video that there is a difference in the smell of the mop pads (between the one that has the detergent used and the one that doesnt). Can i know does the detergent make the mop pad better smelling or does it make it worst smelling. haha

How is the cleaning of the dock compared to X1? X1 seems troublesome to clean. Need to dismantle quite a number of parts... Dreame only dismantle the tray? No other parts to take out for washing?
the X1 has no parts to dismantle, it is more difficult to clean it because of its size, the color also make it difficult to tell whether its actually clean. For the dreame, the actual cleaning is just a flat base once you remove the component i showed in the video, you can then wipe off the dirt using a wet kitchen towel or something
Nice! Glad I waited for next iteration instead of going for S7 MaxV Ultra or Ecovacs, will preorder it once its available! The only thing I am curious about is Dreame L10s obstacle avoidance compared to S7 MaxV Ultra great obstacle avoidance. Thanks for the video

i didn't test switching and swapping the parts, the AI didn't amaze me, I will always make sure the floor is 'ready for robot' before starting the cleaning

Great video. Can the Dreame be used in different levels. I have a sunken lounge, so I would need to manually put the vac in that area.
Can the mop pads be taken off and thrown into a washing machine to give a good clean every now and then or are they attached to the bases. I was going to buy the Roborock S7 maxv, but this has changed my mind. I do prefer the spinning mops to just a pad

i will do steam mopping once per week, before that i will first vacuum the areas where robot can't reach
Personally I still use a dyson for quick vacuum jobs. Also a manual mop for missed spots by the robot cleaner

yeah dust bag can last you about 2 months on average, you have to use the dreame if you want it to automatically dispense, else you can always manually pour the suitable detergent into the water tank like the xiaomi. Detergent from tineco, dreame, ecovacs all these are suitable, if you pour in something like dettol it will clog and damage the whole internal system
Does the dreame leave tire marks? I cant tell if the scrubbing pads cover the full width of both wheels?
can't tell with my flooring since they are not shiny, as for the scrubbing pads size they are kind of standard, won't be 100% able to reach the edges

Hi Alex, thanks for the video. I am keen to up the game with a more serious robot mop. Quick question, lets say i want the robot to clean its mop after each room. Do i have to wait 2h for the mop pad drying before it goes to the 2nd room? Also, is it possible to get the robot to clean its mop then I air dry the mop pads? Please advise.
the drying only start at the end of each cleaning session, not based on rooms. You can turn off drying and air dry them its up to you

in terms of performance, navigation and app controls, I will say they are pretty similar not much difference

You have 3 cleaning modes - vacuum, mop or both up to you how you want to set
Would the L10S replace your steam mop routine? I rem you said in previous video that priority for such robotvac should be vacuum first.

@@benozw12 i'm currently using the ecovacs x1. That depends on how much you can get a robovac with empty station, can consider getting 2nd hand too. Samsung if you are using smartthings, else you can go with the big 3 china brands
Dreame has a new release X10 that has auto water in/out system. Not available locally though. Any plans to review that?
Another question, I have been struggling with, what is the chances of a unit getting damaged with frequent use? The benefit of getting a local unit is warranty. Alternatively, getting on TB, the price is almost half, but without the warranty.
I will review the first local supported robot with that auto water inlet system. Whether that will come from dreame, roborock or ecovacs I am not sure..
I will look at the price of the robot, if I am spending more than 1k especially for a relatively new product innovation, I will want the warranty support. For the xiaomi, since its so cheap on taobao I will just take the gamble

Hi, are the accessories for Xiaomi Omni and Dreame L10s Ultra common? I see the side brush, filter, rag, dust bag are the same, the roller brush looks different but the connectors on both sides of the brush are very similar. Thank you.

they are typically all around less than 2cm
Just want to check with you how long will it take for drying when using 110v.
As I know S10 is almost the same with L10s but it need to use 220v. If customer use 110v on the other area, some of function will be impacted.
For example rag drying will take 4hr and will not really dry when using 110v but maybe it 1hr when using 220v.
The same as dust collection,110v is really weak on S10
So I not sure any power module change between S10 and L10s,or it’s still the same
no idea, probably have to check with people using it in the US or using it via a transformer

Hi Alex, great review! Care to share if there is visible water stain after mopping? My floors is tiled and so far only steam mop leaves very minimal water stain mark. My previous mopping robot(lower end), leaves very visible water stains
Glossy tiles will always be more obvious, for mine i don't have this problem, but you can consider going with the lowest mop setting should be better
@@AlexTeo got the dreame, thanks for the review. Used slightly dry mode for mopping and the water marks are not obvious for glossy tiles. Other modes will be quite obvious.

This is my first super robot. So here's my take.
Vacuuming wise still ok( I think my previous basic ecovats are better in vacuuming), at times missed the obvious hairs on the floor. And then when it sweep a second time. The hair is wet.. and won't be able to be swept up.
Can't really vacuum or mop the side/edges of the floor.
Other than that, it is really good with regular use. Don't really have any water stain mark in glossy tiles , using mild wet mop setting.
Don't really have water stain mark in Matted tile, using medium wet mop setting .
sensitive to Carpet, will always raise the pad at carpet, and even if the pad raised and touched the carpet. Carpet is not wet.
Self Cleaning of mop pads, air drying is efficient.
Maintenance and cleaning of base, changing water is simple.
App is easy to use.
Suggestion, owner should still do cleaning of the house weekly.
Value for money.
But if you don't mind paying extra, and add detergent everytime when moping. You may consider roborock. (Heard, never try before, mopping and vacuuming is much better)

depends which country you are based, they may package differently. For me in singapore, we can always get it easily from taobao

oily floors will require hot water + detergent for more effective cleaning, so look for robovacs with these 2 features

G10 can't do auto dust empty so definitely L10S
Ecovacs has 2 little brushes. Mi or viomi have only one side brush. Does that second brush make any difference?

biggest difference is the L10s has internal water tank while the W10 doesn't, so the W10 has to go back to the station more frequently. In terms of the wiping performance they are comparable

@@chapochapo8978 i didn't test out that specifically because it depends on the mop setting. There are 3 levels to how wet you want the mopping to be. And also you will definitely want to perform self cleaning and that will consume an amount of water as well. So like i mention in the video for my case, cleaning 70sqm with default setting and performing self cleaning 4 times in total will consume about half of the water tank

i don't think i recommend buying from taobao if they are officially distributed in singapore. If you can't use the dreame app then just use the mihome app with china mainland region

Hi Alex, I bought the L10S ultra last year and sent back for repair since it having too much issues like break thru the virtual wall, did not follow the mapping for cleaning and cant find the base station. But I must say it's a good robot and depends a lots on it to do the cleaning job :). By the way, the mijia u hv is from China and does it works in Mijia app? are you still able to use it now? thanks
what i demo in this video is using mijia app china region, i am not using this robot so no idea whether any issues at this point

ya i don't recommend purchasing robot vacuums from taobao that are locally distributed, you will probably have a ton of limitations

L10S have an edge with LDS, rubber brush and auto detergent..
W10/W10 pro or this LS10? The LS10 seems to have more consumables that needs purchasing.

First i bought S10+ this model have larger water tank,so enough to mop my entire living room,with extra water to spare,later i change to this X10+ i noticed the mopping is sufficient of water,the mop are so dry can't feel any wet to it,later need to do some settings "return mop cleaning on every room" very disappointed for this mopping water issues,other than that was ok,the only bad about this is maybe the water tank build in very small

some robots will have a pet setting such as the dreame in this video. But i won't 100% trust the AI, especially when the poop is very small or very watery.. sometime i can't even tell whether its a poop at a distance.. if the poop is shaped nicely like the emoji 💩then yeah it will avoid
Does the l10s Ultra still mop just as wet after 10 square meters as it did at the beginning? And can you hear any sounds of the water in the robot if you shake it a little bit?
it does come with an internal water tank if that's what you trying to find out

@@AlexTeo I was wondering why the wiping performance drops so much after 10m². Then I shook the robot but didn't hear any movement of the water. To verify this, I removed the mop attachments during cleaning and replaced them with paper towels glued on. But it stayed dry the whole time. I'm from Germany and several people seem to have this problem. That's why I asked.
@Thomaspauker I know exactly what you mean. My L10S ultra mop dries out before 10square meters even if I set the humidity to “wet”. It’s quite disappointing and I’m thinking of returning bc the cleaning isn’t as thorough or efficient as Roborock S7MaxV ultra. Any thoughts @alexteo?
Hi Alex, did u test out the Dreame detergent till it finishes? It’s quite strange for me that when the app states 0% for the detergent, when I took it out it’s still heavy with liquid inside.
Nope i didn't test that many sessions, are you sure that the detergent is attached properly as there is a chance that they are not flowing to the tank

Hi, are you noticing haze or residue on the floor after moping? Also there are swirls can be seen. I wonder if this is caused by the solution.
@@MaxAirGo for me, I didn’t see any marks. Then again, I’m not sure my solution is dispensing properly or not, as i mentioned my detergent pack was still heavy when I took out after its “empty”. Testing out the 2nd pack.
@@annatrella I can defiantly see a light film. And with a clean micro fiber towel it can be removed, then the floor shines. But I also saw this haze with Shark Mop and their solution so maybe this is normal. Just so aren't overlooking anything, the top and the bottom seals are removed? The option to use the Cleaner in the App is turned on? Now that I think about it, I don't smell much of the cleaner as I did the first day. I wonder if I am just used to it or its also not releasing as it should.
Hey alex! Can the dreame let me programme which room to clean first? Cause my current xiaomi will go to the kitchen to mop first, and going to the master bedrrom last. Which is not favourable
