- A mobile suit tuned to meet Kira Yamato's needs, the Strike Freedom has Variable Phase Shift armor, and like its predecessor, ZGMF-X10A Freedom Gundam, is primarily armed with powerful ranged weapons. Its armaments include head-mounted CIWS, an abdomen-mounted multi-phase beam cannon, hip-mounted railguns, combine-able beam sabers and beam rifles, DRAGOON pods controlled by an improved DRAGOON system, and beam shields. It is powered by the new Hyper-Deuterion Engine, and is also equipped with the Neutron Jammer Canceller and the Voiture Lumiere propulsion system.
Due to Kira's stellar piloting, his mobile suit is rarely hit during combat and thus Strike Freedom's design emphasizes maneuverability over its armor's defensive capabilities, though beam shields were installed as a compensatory defensive measure. As a result, its armor is split into smaller pieces to improve the movement range of the joints (a similar armor-splitting system was also implemented in ZGMF-X42S Destiny Gundam). To compensate for exposing more of its internal parts, the suit's internal skeleton and joints adopted Phase Shift armor materials. When these parts phase-shift, they gain strength and near human flexibility. Additionally, excess residual energy within the body can be discharged through the joints' glowing effects.
The internal PS armor materials also helps to withstand the massive output and Gs caused by the Hyper Deuterion engine and the new propulsion system, playing a role in increasing Strike Freedom's mobility. However, the main contributor to the MS's superior mobility are the mobile weapon wings, which can be deployed in the "High Mobility Aerial Tactics (HiMAT)" Mode to enhance the suit's mobility in the atmosphere or in space. The wings also features a variant of the "Voiture Lumiere" propulsion system, which can generate a visual effect called the "Wings of the Skies" similar to ZGMF-X42S Destiny's "Wings of Light" and is used as a means of high speed movement.
The Strike Freedom's Super DRAGOONs are based on ZAFT's second-generation DRAGOON system, with additional unique modifications. Designed specifically for Kira, they allow him to hit more targets at once using the Multi Lock-on System and Full Burst Mode as compared to when he was piloting the original Freedom. They also grant Kira the ability to hit the enemy from multiple directions remotely. Like the Freedom, the Strike Freedom is designed to operate alongside another mobile suit, in this case, the ZGMF-X19A ∞ Justice Gundam, and is stationed on board the warship Eternal. It also has full flight capabilities in the atmosphere and can dock with the METEOR unit in space to further augment its firepower.

放送終了後にはガンダムなのに無傷で勝って終わったとか色んな批判があったけど、いざ劇場版でボロボロにされてくのを見たら「あぁ…あのストフリが…」って普通に悲しくなったよ
でも我々が見たかったストフリでもあった
なんかあのストフリが旧式の機体って言われててびっくりした
@@haa_anoheya旧式っていうより強奪された時にデータ取られて主にストフリ対策でメタってたから旧式っていうのも無理があると思うけどね
種運命時にストフリ始めオーブ側が無傷だったのはオーブ側の損傷した状態の機体の絵を用意する時間が無かったという説が濃厚らしいので…。
まあ色々しょうがないです(滝汗)

これとかデスティニーの光の翼発動からの剣構えて突進みたいなお馴染みのバンクがさりげなく、そして現代の進化した映像技術で再現されててすごい良かった
本来批判されるはずのバンクが20年越しに激アツオマージュになるの凄い
HDリマスター前の方では、出撃シーンと同時に「vestige」が流れててそれがめちゃくちゃカッコ良かった。
あれ不評で消したらしいけど普通に良かったよな

destinyでは圧倒的な強さで無傷エンドで終わった名機中の名機。
戦後は一度強奪され、劇場版では弍式へと改修されたものの、旧式化になっているのは否めず、敵陣営の最新鋭機のカルラの前では電池切れを起こして撃墜寸前迄追い込まれる等マイティー化される迄は受難続きとなってしまった名機。
SEED FREEDOMでもこんな風に無双して欲しかった。マイティーストフリになってからの逆転も勿論好きだけど。

重力圏内ではドラグーンが使えない為、VL転用型エンジンも使えない為に機動力が実は下がっている。
それで尚、MSの完成度ではサードステージ中最高クラスのデスティニーに追従出来る辺りキラ用にカリカリにチューンされたストフリのOSは設定スペックを限界ギリギリまで引き出せるように構築されたのだろう。

The strike freedom is way less OP in the movie now that anti-beam technology start getting proliferated and strike freedom weakness shows of having way less armor in exchange for psycho-frame like mobility
Damn the fact that strike freedom(without WOL or Wings of skies) can keep up with destiny (with WOL on) and legends just really shows how op SF and the pilot is still holding back from killing them.
strike freedom have the same Propulsion System as the destiny which explain why it can keep up with the destiny and legend. The wiki also stated that the sf can use this system without the need to detach the dragoon.
@@acidgolem2132 obviously but it still can't use it at all times I mean it only used WOL once on earth and that is when it first engaged the destiny not to mention it was not activated at all times.
@@gokuthelegend5691 I don't think the sf could ever use it on earth since it can't deploy dragoon on earth beside WOL is just a cosmetic effect just like the destiny WOL. Also yes it can be use all of the time thanks to the sf nuclear reactor.

@@gokuthelegend5691 I think you're mistaken, in universe the wings of light is just cosmetic for the freedom since it can use it's full speed from the beginning by slightly open the dragoon on it's body which is why sometime you'll see the freedom letting out small stardust when it move. It also explain why the sf can keep up with the destiny with wings of light active.
Game does not tell the full story since they sometime will add some extra effects for balancing reason. SF is a perfect example of this, originally in the vs game it does not get an increase by deploying the dragoon, it was added in after due to balance reason.

@@setsunafseiei4745 well, the whole Black Knight Squad's MS used all the technologies found on Strike Freedom, Infinite Justice, and Destiny
Their beam mantle is based on the Voiture Lumiere and Mirage colloid system, but theirs is more advanced i think since it can be used for both attack and defense
Plus, the Black Knight Squad of the Foundation was able to acquire those technologies thanks to that radical ZAFT defense minister

劇場版でどんどんボロボロになっていく様は、その苦戦が有ったからこそマイフリが輝くって意味でも非常に良かったし、めっちゃ興奮したわ。
