  • I'm on WVLI Radio 92.7 FM with Mike Tomano, and we dive deep into the power of music and its ability to inspire. Together, we explore the meaning behind my song "Laying in this Bed," a poignant reflection on my journey with my wife, and the emotional connection it holds for the listeners. We also discuss my tribute to my Pop's song "Carrying Your Name," showcasing how personal experiences shape our lives. With talks from my life dedicated to serving the community and the thrill of being a motorcycle rider from a young age, this conversation is a testament to resilience and creativity. Tune in for inspiration that resonates beyond the music!
Mike was kind enough to call me a great singer/songwriter. That was very kind of him, and I was humbled. Mike said also before when we last spoke, he was going to watch both documentaries, and I always said watch Fighting MSA: Austin Crawford's Story first.
So doesn't everyone sing in their car, doing a honey-do project, or in the shower...lol
It's the release of the chemical dopamine.
Music produces dopamine because it activates the brain's reward system, triggering the release of dopamine in the striatal regions of the brain.
    So what is dopamine?
Dopamine is a chemical messenger in the brain and other parts of the body that plays a role in many functions, including, but not only limited to one.
Reward-seeking: Dopamine is involved in the brain's reward system, which motivates people to repeat certain behaviors. For example, when you experience something pleasurable, like eating good food or winning a game, your brain releases dopamine, which can make you feel good and want to repeat that experience.
You ask what does Dopamine do for you??? Well, it is divided into sections.
(Movement): Dopamine is involved in controlling physical movement.
(Memory:) Dopamine plays a role in memory.
Dopamine affects mood in just about every way.
(Learning:) Dopamine is involved in learning.
(Attention:) Dopamine is involved in attention.
What happens when you don't have dopamine?
When you don't have enough dopamine, you may experience a number of symptoms, including:
Mood: Feeling anxious, depressed, moody, or angry.
    Motivation: Feeling unmotivated or tired.
    Sleep: Having trouble sleeping.
Memory: Having problems with short-term memory or concentration.
Movement: Having tremors or moving more slowly than usual.
Digestion: Having digestion problems like constipation or reflux.
Other: Having low self-esteem, forgetfulness, or impulsiveness.
