- I found that my motorhome's habitation door top latch wasn't latching correctly. it seems to be a fairly common problem on Swift's Dometic Seitz doors and fortunately, easy to fix.

I found the springs on ebay!
www.ebay.co.uk/itm/235369264882 You might also want to check www.springsandthings.me.uk
Thanks Bob for showing us that tiny little spring and the plastic tool to get the door trim and Velcro & sealed bits cool had to buy a longer same size spring and made a few spares round ten bucks all up thanks again m8
Thanks for the Video Bob just mended my door which the spring had broken on the bottom latch , I also bought a trim removal kit which made removing the panel easy,I’ve ordered two new springs just in case 😊 but used the old spring as you did. Happy travels for 2024 for the three of you.
Glad it helped
Thanks Bob my door on our Bailey Autograph 79-4T but on the bottom catch, all good now with your video
Cheers
Jeremy
ps Hello to Jenny & Poppy
Good to hear, thanks.
Kin ell Bob every time something happens to your van mine decides it wants to play the same game a few weeks later…..this video will definitely come in handy. Thanks.
Well done Bob. This fix will probably last for the life of the van. Just saved yourself an hour labour at the dealership 👍🏻😃 Trev
Hopefully 👍
Hi Bob, had same problem on my Adria, sadly we couldn't find any springs. My caravan engineer had a roof light spring and made 2 out of one and replaced both springs so the same tension is on both catches. Your door panel removal is much easier than ours. See you again at Herman Fest hopefully. Les
Thanks Bob your video was very helpful, the both springs went in our bessacarr 599, we ordered a box of assorted springs off amazon for £7.25 and there was some in there that done the job. It would have been very costly if we had took it to the dealer.

Good to hear!
Thanks for putting this up. Have the same door on my Bailey and was trying to figure out how to repair when it breaks - which it almost certainly will judging by various website comments.
Thanks for the mention, Bob! :)
Since I fixed mine in the video you referred to, I’ve had to also do the same with the bottom spring.
So, fellow Swifties, I think Bob’s suggestion of carrying a spare spring is spot on. This is an easy fix that most people could manage while on holiday, and could save you a lot of trouble.
Just be very careful with the edges of that plastic box section. It’s extremely sharp and will easily cut your fingers (I sliced mine!)

@aswiftescape
Thank you
You're welcome
Well done for having a crack at something like that Bob , could have got tricky , and thanks for sharing the information ,love that
I had the same problem about a year ago, and did the same fix as you and it’s still working fine!! 🤞
Good to know!
Looks remarkably like the door on my Avondale Seascape SLX … BX54AUE…… which continually gave me problems many years ago. A Muckle thing ….. both over engineered and under engineered……. All the best and keep up the good work..
Well done Bob, I’m saving this video for a just case situation. Thanks.👍👍
Nice fix Bob, that should come in handy for some.
Well I’d give you a job in a Spring factory Bob. In fact any Motorhome hab repair. Good job and perfectly explained 👍👍. So many little jobs need doing around the Motorhome
