  • This is the first full-length LP issued by the Little Country Trio. Recorded in 1969 at Melody Records in Hamilton, Ohio. This is rural country gospel singing at its finest. Thirty more minutes of Norma Jeffers belting out high As. Hope you enjoy. This album was uploaded to share with friends who similarly cherish the Little Country Trio's music, and similar gospel acts who lived and performed in Ohio and surrounding states. If you have any connection to the Little Country Trio, please get in touch.
There are many superlative tracks on this album, so I feel no particular need to list any high points. That being said, some of my personal favorites include "Your Redemption Draweth Nigh", "Until You've Known the Lord", and "On the Cross Jesus Died" and "Let Jesus Take Over". And Norma gives Jeanette Cooke a run for her money on "I'm Longing for Home", and "I've Got a Better Place to Go." Hearing them sing the "Angel of Death" (a song I associate with the Stanley Brothers), is also a treat. The remaining five tracks are also wonderful.
You can see a full list of the The Little Country's recording history on the Gloryland Jubilee discography here: gj.rcs-discography.com/search...
From the back cover of the album:
    """
    Dear Friends,
The LITTLE COUNTRY TRIO has been singing together as a group now for about four years.
It was in the LITTLE COUNTRY MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH of Norwood, Ohio, where all three are members, that they first began singing as a group and it was from the title of this church that they chose the name LITTLE COUNTRY TRIO.
The Trio consists of Jesse Hutson together with Loman Jeffers and wife, Norma.
Since that day four years ago when they first sang together they have sung in many churches and song fests in this area.
We hope that in some small way we have spread a little cheer in someones life and that you will enjoy the songs in this our first album.
We covet your prayers that we may continue singing for the Lord.
    Yours truly,
    THE LITTLE COUNTRY TRIO

(In other news, I've improved my digitization technique somewhat, although there still remains some surface noise here. I'll do the best I can to digitize each record I upload as cleanly as possible, although I am forever limited by the quality of the recording itself, the quality of the LPs I have, as well as my own impatience. I will be reuploading a few of the albums I already have on my channel in higher quality, as well as a few new albums, in the coming months. If you have any tips, let me know.)

Luke, thanks for posting, enjoy this group. The Angel Of Death was also recorded by The Bridges Quartet, also of Norwood, OH. Again, good stuff, thanks.
