    Just started learning how to do air bags, a whole lot easier on the tractors lol. I've never thought to use the shop air to provide air to the trailer, definitely going to be a lot faster than supplying air from the tractor.

    Thanks for this. You show exactly step by step. Been driving 20 years and am starting to do more mechanical jobs. These vids help a lot.

    I have watched six of these videos so far.. guys changing trailer suspension airbags. And on every freaking one of them it was on the rearmost axle. It would be very nice to see somebody change a front air bag. My understanding is that they are more difficult. And guess what? I need to do a front airbag.

    Nice video! Doing something similar on an older bus, but having some issues identifying the right fittings to match the current hard copper lines and convert to plastic DOT air lines. I think what I have looks similar to yours ('inverted flare' with an o-ring inside?) but not sure what they're called or how to ID properly. Local air fitting shops can't find anything like it. And I like those airlines, don't really look plastic. Any suggestions on how to ID fittings and hose nomenclature?

    Hey Boss. I'm having issues with my airbag exploding on my spread axle flatbed. I've gone through 2 airbags in the same location in a year. (frontaxle driver side) Do you have any suggestions?

    • @californiadreaming9216
      @californiadreaming9216 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Trucker Timmy hi. Considering your question is from 2 years ago, chances are you have resolved your exploding airbag dilemma. But in case you haven't, here are a couple of things you could check..
      Maybe you have a lower control arm which is Twisted or bent and therefore when the trailer airbag is fully inflated you have some chafing occurring. When you blow an airbag look carefully at it.. any evidence of chafing or scraping?
      Maybe your airbags are overinflating. The distance between the top of your trailer tire and the bottom of the trailer deck should be no more than about three to four inches regardless of whether load is light or heavy. When you are empty, is your trailer sitting up really high? Because if it is then you either have a bad leveling valve or your leveling valve needs adjustment.
      I hope this helps. Good luck.

    Can we drive with 3 bags by disconnecting 4th one in case of emergency

    • @bigrigfix
      @bigrigfix  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can disconnect the air bag leveling valve at the rod and turn off the air supply to all air bags.

    On real tough top air spring nut do this procedure . Cut air spring fabric around air spring and remove the bottom section . Use a cutting torch and cut the bolt from the air spring base .
