      B0BiskindaC00L when he hits he occasionally leans back on his front heel after he steps when he is swinging therefore he loses power. And he needs to work on speed since he wasn't anything special in fielding or hitting

      Well, as a matter of fact I did!
      I am trying to watch all sorts of baseball/softball recruiting videos to see what I might want to do or add to mine.
      For example, out of the videos I have already watched, this is the only one to include fielding balls at a base from other players. The ones I watched only included fielding the ball of a hit or bunt.

    heres the issue i have with people complaining about his weight transfer: whatever works works. Ted Williams focused way more on wrist snap for power, not as much with weight transfer. If he can find ways to get base hits and it works for him, there shouldnt be an issue on exactly how he does it

      BBDog Gaming very good analysis.
      College recruiters would look at that and see it’s a very dishonest way to do that drill. Can’t REALLY see how we can evaluate his pop up, when his hand is practically on the ball already.
      No one is going to catch an 85 mph heater with someone at bat with their hand their. If they are, I have a few friends that run catchers camps we can refer him to.

    • @michaelhorsey5871
      @michaelhorsey5871 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Gabreol Aiken
      There’s no way you can know a runner is stealing before the pitch is even thrown. The pitcher would probably just step off and throw over anyways.
      It’s horrible technique to practically have your hand in the glove. Foul tip, broken hand/wrist/arm for sure
      80 mph fastball, miss handle/time that catch, broken hand.
      I’ve been an umpire for 13 years now from high school
      , college and Indy ball, my father was minor league/college/Indy ball umpire and even managed a few successful Indy teams when he retired; I’ve NEVER seen a GOOD catcher do something like that in a game or even practice.

      The grounders should be slower so that he can show how he moves through the ball with his feet and hands. If they are hit hard he can just sit back and field off of his heels than throw. The slower grounders bring out his footwork and ability to make the routine plays.

  • @domonicc.8808
    @domonicc.8808 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great stuff! A couple things that need a little work: blocking and throw downs. First blocking. Instead of throwing your legs underneath yourself, try gaining ground by sliding the shin guards. If you block by staying in place or even moving backwards, the ball will hit you and bounce off to the side. Also, try getting your hand behind your glove. Furthermore, try not to jump when your block. Push off the balls of your feet. These three improvements combined will create a nice and compact block. For throw downs try not to step to your left when you come out of your crouch. You want to take a small step forward. One thing that will really help your throws is letting the ball come to you. Instead of reaching for the ball, let it get to you to create a quicker transfer. By stepping forward and having a quicker transfer, you will stay more vertical and your throws will be more on a line. Overall you are a great baseball player. Good luck.

    Need to sit back more in the swing. You are springing forward instead of having your upper body behind your front leg when landing. This is going to make hitting high velocity fastballs very tough. You also spin when you swing, instead of drive through the ball. Think about your back knee driving down into your front ankle. This will take away the squashing of the bug that you are doing.

    I played division 2 college baseball and just graduated this year. My advice to anyone else making a recruiting video is to do the hitting portion first. You have more energy and will hit better. In college defense isn't nearly as important as hitting. If you can hit they'll find a spot for you somewhere.

  • @ethanf.6344
    @ethanf.6344 4 ปีที่แล้ว +26

    Few things. Don't keep your hand so close to the glove when you're catching. You miss, you could break a hand. Also pop time should be quicker, because if pop time is slow the runner is safe. When you're blocking, you're jumping a bit. Just drop your legs and fall to the ground not jump. Probably should stick to first and third. Fielding was decent. At third, If you have time, instead of scooping, get I front of the ball to prevent errors. Also your side arm throwing is limiting you. You also need to work A bit more on your arm strength. Also when you say tag make sure it's loud enough to hear. Lastly, when batting, if you rotate your hips more, you'll notice you have a lot more power. Also more bat speed will help. You seem to be getting under it a lot so try to bring it up to center it better. Definitely got a lot of work to possibly get a big D1 scholarship, but overall pretty good.

      +Fiasco MKWII The other guy is right. If you transfer your weight from your backside into your front side you will gain a lot more pop. You need to make sure to have your front leg straighten to allow the power to transfer to your upper body and into the bat. But you are also right in the fact that he is off balance and needs to work on that. A good example of this type of swing is Bryce Harper.

    • @franciscoperez3986
      @franciscoperez3986 8 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      +Fiasco MKWII actually Luke thats wrong. The reason bryce harpers foot leaves the ground is the because of the power he derives from his back side. What you just said will not give you more power.its better if you stay back, plant that lower foot turn your backside and drive the baseball with your back leg. In no way is leaving your back foot to transfer your power to your upper body good.
