You can't get anything this spiritually-rich at the theatric churches that seem to have become popular these days. The Gospel and Holy Communion accomplish much more than all the flash and feeling at those.
Communion is the most unifying sacrament of all. What a humble sight and sound seeing all these young people at the foot of the cross. Praise be to God
After my Oma’s funeral both my mother and I struggle to sing the entirety of certain hymns. I know that my redeemer lives kills us in the best way if you know what I mean. It is all in glory to God, and love of those now in his house.
I have asked that this will be sung at my funeral. We sang it at my mother's funeral and it inspired all who were there. It takes sorrow to victory in Christ.
We always sing this hymn on All Saints Sunday, and I agree that it would be very appropriate for a funeral. It proclaims the Protestant understanding that all who put their faith in trust in Christ are made saints by His blood and righteousness, not by their own good works.
1. For all the saints, who from their labors rest, who thee by faith before the world confessed, thy name, O Jesus, be forever blest. Refrain: Alleluia, Alleluia! 2. Thou wast their rock, their fortress, and their might; thou Lord, their captain in the well-fought fight; thou in the darkness drear, their one true light. Alleluia, Alleluia! 3. O may thy soldiers, faithful, true, and bold, fight as the saints who nobly fought of old, and win with them the victor's crown of gold. Alleluia, Alleluia! 4. O blest communion, fellowship divine! We feebly struggle, they in glory shine; yet all are one in thee, for all are thine. Alleluia, Alleluia! 5. And when the strife is fierce, the warfare long, steals on the ear the distant triumph song, and hearts are brave, again, and arms are strong. Alleluia, Alleluia! 6.The golden evening brightens in the west; soon, soon to faithful warriors cometh rest; sweet is the calm of paradise the blest. Alleluia, Alleluia! 7. But lo! there breaks a yet more glorious day; the saints triumphant rise in bright array; the King of glory passes on his way. Alleluia, Alleluia! 8. From earth's wide bounds, from ocean's farthest coast, through gates of pearl streams in the countless host, singing to Father, Son, and Holy Ghost:
Was 18 at the time, and I certainly did. Higher Things conferences are where I made some of my best friends to this day. Truly made me realize how important my faith was to me, and wouldn’t trade my experiences for anything.

Hallelujah! There is nothing so beautiful as God's people singing His praise, particularly the youth. God has a hope and a future for us. Seeing and hearing this makes it easier to see. Thank you for your work in the Gospel, Higher Things.

The cup is rotated for each person and cleaned so no one exchanges germs. Also the silver content of the cup and the alcohol content make it sanitary. Now if it were grape juice that would be a different story, but Lutherans use wine.

@@johnrevelation37 Some Lutherans still use the term "mass," but most use other terms, such as "divine service" or "Eucharist" due to theological differences in the understanding of exactly what is occurring in the sacrament.

Watching the video, is not beautiful the number of young people partaking the Lord Supper and singing praise for all our departed love ones who now are enjoying being with the Lord
I know the feeling. I also love hearing the young ones sing, like on Worship Anew, which I watch when I can't make it to church. Every time, I pray for the kids I see there, asking God to keep them in the faith. It's a hard culture to grow up in, and this is not the country it was 30 years ago. So much temptation and unbelief thrown at them.
The nasty reply would be we ARE the gnesio catolico (true catholic), not Roman Catholic. However, such an answer ignores those within the Church of Rome who do indeed belong to Christ who alone truly knows who are His sheep. For Lutherans, the "true presence" of Christ's body and blood do not ignore the reality of bread and wine. How this dual reality (bread and body, wine and blood) can exist, we do not know but it nevertheless is because Christ so stated. That suffices for us. As far as singing, it is merely a matter of having about six hymns at every divine service and examples in adult congregants who sing as Lutherans have sung for the past five centuries. After all, repetitio est mater studiorum.
Its not even a question of being permited. Receiving it in the mouth has always been the correct manner of recieving our lord. It was only after vatican 2 when people widely recieved it in their hands
@@keytube1012 Personally I take holy Communion by drinking directly from the chalice or intinction. But understand that some Christians are fearful of the possibility of contagious disease especially during flu season.
This was sung/recorded at a Higher Things youth conference. Higher Things is a Recognized Service Organization of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod.
Truly sad how ignorant people have become about church today. But such is this wicked attack on the church today in the Western World. And when will millions stand up for Jesus?
Nope, couldn't be Roman, the altar doesn't have a wall of candles and crucifix between the celebrant and the people. And the singing...no, no, no...Roman Catholics don't sing like that. I thought, at first, it might be Episcopal, but no altar rail, even in contemporary architecture is there...and the organist was not quite Anglican. However, good singing.
The wall of candles and crucifix became popular in some RC parishes during the time of Pope Benedict in the early 2000s. Common liturgical principals among denominations would go with the look of this church. To me, the true give away of the architecture's deep connection to Lutheran theology is the baptismal font, front and center.

Yes! The sacraments are eternal and God ordained. Temporary emotional responses are just that, temporary.
The Gospel being preached in its truth and purity, and the Sacraments being rightly administered is essential and vital...all else is optional =)
