  • Many people complain about variables they can not control saying 'there is nothing we do!' With a Taguchi Robust Design of Experiment technique there is a lot you can do to make your process Robust to that variation...This is a great approach that you should be covering on your 6 Sigma training...

    If all the Professors of Engineering and Business in all the Universities and Colleges in the world could please watch the teaching style and clarity of Paul Allen and use it to explain such concepts as ‘Efficiency’, ‘Effectiveness’, ‘Control’ , ‘Optimization’ and ‘Capability’ to their students then the World would quickly improve in so many ways. We are being held back back a Higher education system that is not fit for purpose. There are of course some notable exceptions to that rule ... and some great teachers who work in Universit

      Have already been sharing your video on CPK improvement as well. Went through a chunk of your back catalogue last night and really enjoyed everything I watched. Keep up the good work! Will look forward to reading the book - also, massive respect for the nod towards wheeler you made in your SPC video, he's one of my favourite writers!

    Isn't this considered a block factor? Blocking the DOE into 3 humidity instances?
    Thanks

    • @paulallen5321
      @paulallen5321  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It is similar - but in blocking you know the levels usually in taguchi you know there is noise and you let it into the DOE

    Hi, i would like to know, if i have 3 factors, with 1 factor woth 3 levels, and 2 factors with 5 level..is it possible i can use taguchi method?

    Hi Paul, I have been following your videos, thanks. I have a question for you, IS IT POSSIBLE TO RUN A DOE, based on MODELS, without actually performing an experiment? for example if a response variable depends on 3 factors with a Mathematica model such as y = logx1 + sinx2 +e^x3? Can I run a design of a experiment with logical levels for x1 x2 and x3, and then observe interactions?

    • @paulallen5321
      @paulallen5321  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jide - great to hear from you, the simple answer is yes you can do that, you simply create a table based on the input variables, you will only get one data point per combinations. but you will get the interactions as well. I will make a video about this in the new year. Because you've got log values, the DOE will not be linear. So a CCD would the best choice I would guess...

      @@paulallen5321 Thanks Paul and I await your video next year. By the way, the equation I dropped in the message was just an hypothetical example. The real stuff is a multiple factor, and multiple response analysis using a math model for woven fabrics. Thanks again

    Nicely explained, as always =)
    This does assume that those parameters have a linear effect, right? Or can you also do this type of DoE if a parameter has an optimum (so a 'better' point than either of the extremes)?

    • @paulallen5321
      @paulallen5321  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In this case Tom the robust approach was attached to an L12, but as far as I know you can attach it to any DOE type as long as you replicate so that SD can be estimated it will work.
