    Well Pastor, getting through this video did take me some time, (due to outside circumstances, but this tab stayed open the whole time on my computer, reminding me to get back to viewing it) but I did finally get through it, and I am so grateful! Again, so many thanks for your tireless work to share and spread the gospel, and the revelation of these vital truths! Your presentations are so well done, and I love that you provide the notes alongside the presentation. God bless you, your work, your ministry, and all your loved ones! Praising God for His goodness always! Aloha!

      Praise the Lord!! Your cheerfulness and enthusiasm and love for Jesus shines out in all your posts!! Revelation 18 is a challenging and complex chapter and I know there is much more to know and understand than what I presented. In fact, I am in the process this year of updating ALL of my presentations on Revelation and preaching through the whole book. We have better cameras and better technology to have the slides show up directly on the screen so they can be seen much better. Stay tuned!! In October this year I am also doing a 25-part series on the Sanctuary which I am very excited about and will be posting all of those on my TH-cam channel. Thanks so much for your comments and encouragement! I am very grateful for it as well as inspired to hear about your love for the Lord and His truth. May God bless you abundantly today!!! 😇🙌🙏

    The merchants are BOTH spiritual and literal. I think there is a false dichtomy between things that are material or temporal and things that are spiritual and eternal. When actually there is much interlap between these things.
    The merchants are selling material goods including human slaves. But this has spiritual consequences.
    Mystery Babylon nor the merchants who weep for hee did not become rich from doing honest business!

      mrsticky005 I think you are correct. The overall chapter is a denunciation of the sins of Babylon including her involvement with the kings of the earth (political powers) and the merchants of the earth (financial powers) to enrich herself.

    Guys, what is that creepy business mentioned in Revelation 18:13
    (Business of bodies and souls of men that is yet to be destroyed). What the hell can someone be doing the business of Souls of men? If you want to be blacklisted in your church, try asking this question. Many Pastors seems to skip when they reach this scripture, and they continue with other scriptures.
    13 and cinnamon and incense, fragrant oil and frankincense, wine and oil, fine flour and wheat, cattle and sheep, horses and chariots, and bodies and souls of men.

      Hi Freddo! Thanks for your excellent question. My short answer is twofold. In Revelation 17 we see Babylon is religious or spiritual confusion. Those who practice and advocate false religious teachings are certainly dealing with the lives and "souls of men" by leading them into error and destruction. In Revelation 18 we see the merchants of the earth who work in harmony with Babylon to make money off of people while causing their harm and destruction. Some examples would be those who sell alcohol and cigarettes. These products are expensive, addictive, and without doubt destructive to the person who consumes them. God will hold these merchants responsible for their actions just as He will hold spiritual Babylon responsible for her actions. I hope this helps clarify your question. May God bless you in your study of His word!

      What that verse is really saying is that the clergy of Christendom prayed for fighters on both sides during World Wars I & II, aiding in inflaming hatreds. Leaders of world politics know these men who claim to be for peace, not only failed to stop these wars, but sanctified them. Here was Babylon’s traffic of human souls, Lives!

      Hi my friend! Thanks for your comment. God has called us to be faithful wherever He leads us. “But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand.” (Ezekiel 33:6) 🙏

    How can you spiritualize the merchants in Revelation 18 even when the Bible gives you specific merchandise? They are not religious leaders, they are business men or corporations. I think it's hard for white American to admit the sins of slavery that took place in the past in this American country. Also slavery is still taking place today through the prison industry, and sweatshops around the world by American corporations or second beast power. Ships and merchants represent business or economics. Upon 2 or 3 witnesses every word is established. Merchant cannot represent a church.
    Psalms 107:23
    They that go down to the sea in ships,
    that do business in great waters;
    Isa 23:1 - Isa 23:2
     The burden of Tyre.
    Howl, ye ships of Tarshish;
    for it is laid waste, so that there is no house, no entering in:
    from the land of Chittim it is revealed to them.
    Be still, ye inhabitants of the isle;
    thou whom the merchants of Zidon, that pass over the sea, have replenished.

      Greetings, my brother, as I'm sure you are aware, the book of Revelation is largely symbolic. Verse 1, "he sent and SIGNIFIED [put into symbolic language] it by his angel." The context of Revelation 18 is to come out of Babylon or false systems of worship. Comparing Ezekiel 28:16 and the fall of Satan from heaven we read, "By the multitude of thy MERCHANDISE they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned:" Satan wasn't selling physical goods in heaven but rather was "trafficking" in lies, slander, and deceit. When you look at Revelation 18 the angel speaks of the "merchandise" of various material things in vss 12, 13, but the list concludes by shifting to the spiritual realm: "merchandise of...souls of men."

      Slavery is an abominable and repugnant institution and yes I am aware that it continues to exist in various forms today. Are you aware that the Atlantic slave trade was based almost entirely upon Africans capturing and selling other Africans?
      www.digitalhistory.uh.edu/disp_textbook.cfm?smtid=2&psid=445
      However the greater purpose of the gospel is to set both men and women free from the slavery and bondage of sin. (Luke 4:18,19) A man may be a physical slave but still receive eternal life (see the book of Philemon). There will never be social justice on this earth as long as sin exists. Notice how Jesus Himself expresses the attitude we should have:
      “And FEAR NOT them which kill the BODY, but are NOT able to kill the SOUL: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” (Matthew 10:28)
      The “merchandise” of the “souls of men” is to spiritually deceive them so as to cost them their salvation.

      Listen brother, I’m really not being dogmatic about my position. I do agree with you that businesses and corporations are involved in oppression in the end times. I think they are secondary though rather than primary in this chapter. God bless!

      @@UNCHindman So this is your best response that Africans captured by other Africans? This kind of response sound like an excuse. It has nothing to do with my previous response that the merchants are not spiritual in Revelation 18. Secondly, It was dishonest, hypocritical so called white Europeans from the beast power who encouraged the black African heathens to capture Africans for the love of money. Read Early Writing Page 275 "These professed Christians read of the sufferings of the martyrs, and tears course down their cheeks. They wonder that men could ever become so hardened as to practice such cruelty toward their fellow men. Yet those who think and speak thus are at the same time holding human beings in slavery. And this is not all; they sever the ties of nature and cruelly oppress their fellow men. They can inflict most inhuman torture with the same relentless cruelty manifested by papists and heathen toward Christ’s followers. Said the angel, “It will be more tolerable for the heathen and for papists in the day of the execution of God’s judgment than for such men.” The cries of the oppressed have reached unto heaven, and angels stand amazed at the untold, agonizing sufferings which man, formed in the image of his Maker, causes his fellow man. Said the angel, “The names of the oppressors are written in blood, crossed with stripes, and flooded with agonizing, burning tears of suffering. God’s anger will not cease until He has caused this land of light to drink the dregs of the cup of His fury, until He has rewarded unto Babylon double.Reward her even as she rewarded you, double unto her double according to her works; in the cup which she hath filled, fill to her double.” EW 275.2 according to Early Writing, she connects Babylon in Rev 18 with the literal slavery in America".
      You have to know how to use proper bible interpretation principles.
      The Review and Herald November 25, 1884 Par 3 Those who are engaged in proclaiming the third angel's message are searching the Scriptures upon the same plan that Father Miller adopted. In the little book entitled "Views of the Prophecies and Prophetic Chronology," Father Miller gives the following simple but intelligent and important rules for Bible study and interpretation:-- {RH, November 25, 1884 par. 23}
      This is one of his rules. Rule number 11
      RULE XI
      How to know when a word is used figuratively. If it makes good sense as it stands, and does no violence to the simple laws of nature, then it must be understood literally, if not, figuratively. {1842 WiM, MWV1 22.3}
      PROOFS Rev.xii.1,2. xvii.3-7. {1842 WiM, MWV1 22.4}
      If it doesn't violate nature then it makes sense that the merchants are literal.

      And also to say that we don't need to worry about the issue of slavery is nonsense read Isaiah 58. We were told to help the oppressed and so forth. Did you just go round and preach messages ALONE is not going to help anybody. That's why a lot of ministers are anti-social.
      A people are here addressed who make high profession, who are in the habit of praying, and who delight in religious exercises; yet there is a lack. They realize that their prayers are not answered; their zealous, earnest efforts are not observed in heaven, and they earnestly inquire why the Lord makes them no returns. It is not because there is any neglect on the part of God. The difficulty is with the people. While professing godliness, they do not bear fruit to the glory of God; their works are not what they should be. They are living in neglect of positive duties.Unless these are performed, God cannot answer their prayers according to His glory. In the case of offering prayer for Sister F, there was confusion of sentiment.Some were fanatical and moved from impulse. They possessed a zeal, but not according to knowledge. Some looked at the great thing to be accomplished in this case and began to triumph before the victory was gained.There was much of the Jehu spirit manifested: “Come with me, and see my zeal for the Lord.” In place of this self-confident assurance, the case should have been presented to God with a spirit of humbleness and distrustfulness of self, and with a broken and a contrite heart.2T 147.1
