@@tjs_welding_and_fabrication Thanks for the comment, the only reason I didn’t make it a dump is because I already have a dump truck and have no need for a second one, this one is going to carry my tractor bucket and attachments so I can load them from the side.
quick question, I know you welded on the little blocks to clear the rivet, is there a reason why you didn't just drill a hole in the flange of the channel to clear that rivet? allowing the full length of the channel flange to sit on the truck rail?
@@adventurefilms honestly, no particular reason, I guess it was just faster and easier, this bed is not gonna hold a ton of weight so I’m not too worried, also you could always put a spacer in the middle as well if you think it would become a problem with sagging at all, Later on my videos, you will see where I kind of change up the mounting, there will be one video coming out a every week, be sure to hit that subscribe button so when the new videos come out, you’ll be notified But also answer your question, drilling out part of the channel would work as well
I thought hey alright someone building something that actually has half a brain, until measure 17" on the floor and eyeball the center line on the cross member on the floor. Just measure 17" from the center line on the cross member each way and line the rail up with the 2 17" marks.
Nice work for the limited tools you have. I made my own beds as well, but all of them dump. I could not live without a dumping bed.

Everyone worries about those damn rivets. There isn't a thing wrong with the rails sitting on top of the rivets.
