    Is "Whose the best pg" even a relevant question??? I mean the questions quite obvious if you ask me. Nothing to debate if you have actually seen CP play. There are no flaws to his game. Simply the best and its not all that close if you ask me

    I will give Cp3 this...he has the best handles off ALL TIME...**wait for Iverson fan boys to chime in**...but then the true basketball heads see how CP3 handles are better. Ball handling is like Technology its an evolving art form. The next great ball handler will be better than Cp3 and so forth. AI was great but like any Great student of the game, CP3 prolly studied then mastered iverson package, just like the next generation is studying cp3

    Chris has the highest basketball IQ in the NBA. I'd rather have a point guard who has a very high IQ than an explosive point guard but can't make plays for his team mates e.g. Paul>>Westbrook. Don't get me wrong I love Westbrook, but if you get to choose of one of them, would you really take Wes over Paul? Just saying.

    I put the ultimatum, This is the challenge before i crown him as the best point guard he has to outperform all these point guard in this upcoming playoff. To me its a free-for-all for the best spot. Russ-cp3-tp9-curry-damian lillard...whoever goes farthest in the playoff is the best point guard simple. Ima big cp3 fan but it is disrespectful to magic, stock, isiah, kidd, gp20 to get the "Best PG" title but u cant lead ur team pass the first round

  • @Jkwl09
    @Jkwl09 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    My criteria for the Best Point Guard title is simply winning by any means necessary. The 2014 point guard is built so uniquely no two pgs are alike. I try to be fair. All Point guards need help so i say every great needs atleast an allstar running mate. I refuse to put cp3 above Tony Parker when u one player lead his team to Game7 in the finals, while on guy got bounced in the first rd

    • @Milo_K80
      @Milo_K80 11 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      your logic is very flawed. by your " criteria" is Mario Chalmers better then cp3 because he went past the first round this year? no. you are forgetting that basketball is a TEAM game. its not a 1 on 1 tournament. are you really going to criticize cp3 because his teammates didn't step up? go check out his teammates FG % in the playoffs last year. they all shot around 30-40%. meanwhile cp3 put up a 29.2 PER which was tops in the playoffs, averaged 22.8 PPG on 53% shooting and had 6.3 Assists( again, teammates all shot in the 30% range) to only 1.5 Turnovers. there is nothing more cp3 can do.If you are blindly going to just look at team success as the sole measuring stick for comparing PG's while at the same time overlooking how the individual performs, then no, you are not " trying to be fair". Cp3, by every statistical measure, is the best PG in the NBA, and to argue otherwise is futile.

    • @Jkwl09
      @Jkwl09 11 ปีที่แล้ว

      Your right, My theory is a work in process but NOBODY considers "Rio" a top10 pg. Let me modify it. You have to atleast be either the primary or secondary reason for the team success. Second, I quit if u actually memorized cp3 stats down to the decimal point or percentile, which i highly doubt so u dont need to throw stats if its not second nature to u. its just sports. I love cp3 as much as u. I dont knock Cp3 but i'll ask u this question, What doesnt Tony Parker do that which makes Cp3 better than him

    • @Milo_K80
      @Milo_K80 11 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Jeff Malcolm Its simple. Chris Paul is better then Tony Parker in almost every way. Cp3 is the better ball handler, shooter, passer (much better at facilitating/passing) hes a better leader (although hes probably the best leader in the entire NBA, as most GM'S agree in their annual voting survey). Chris Paul is also a much better Defensive player and takes better care of the ball. Tony's only advantages are his Mid range shooting( only slightly tho as Cp3 is also elite in this area), inside scoring and his speed. this is without going into the actual statistics/numbers... where Cp3 makes the debate pointless.Tony Parker does have more postseason success, that really shouldn't be up for debate,but its not just about the individual . Its a team game. when we compare the overall quality of talent surrounding Tony Parker throughout his career relative to cp3's teams (both with the hornets and clippers) it becomes obvious that Tony Parker had the better talent around him. And that's a VERY important thing to understand and take note of. At the same time, the season before Cp3 got to the clippers, the clips were 32-50 with a winning % of .390 ( and also worth noting is that Blake Griffin and Deandre Jordan were on that team, Blake Griffin was also averaging 22 and 12). The next season they go 40-26 in the lockout shorten season for a winning % of .606 which is the highest in the clippers history. The next season(2012-13) they go a franchise best 56-26 for yet again a franchise high winning % of .683... why the sudden change from bottom feeders to one of the best teams in the NBA? one man. cp3 is the difference.He took a 32-50 win team and in 2 years turned them into a 56-26 team. they were on pace for a 50+ win season in the lockout year if the season was a full 82 games long. meanwhile the hornets became the worst team in the West once got traded from them. Chris Paul is a winner. He is one of only about 3 or 4 players in the game who can have that kind of impact on a teams success. He is the best PG in the NBA, and it should not be a debate.

      ***** When it comes to "speed" let's just remember his knee injury a few years back. although he's still the best pg in the game his stats since definitely aren't up to par with his pre injury performance.

    the step back is too real... he can fade or just string together another move. wish i could get those handles but you can't teach that

    • @tghetto5
      @tghetto5 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can teach ball handling. It's just harder for some people to progress than others. I used to think some kids were just too uncoordinated to ever be good ball handlers until my friends little brother went from barely being able to catch a ball at age 12, to being a legit ball handler by age 18. Now of course Paul does all of this at a speed that a lot of people can't achieve. You can't really coach speed.

    • @kefkapalazzo1
      @kefkapalazzo1 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      tghetto5 i still think speed is part of the skill, and we both agree that chris paul has dribbling speed that youre either born with or you dont

    • @tghetto5
      @tghetto5 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      kefkapalazzo1 I would say it's more like we all have different peaks. You can still maximize your speed by practicing. And you never really know your peak. Saying "you can't coach speed" really means you can't make someone faster than their peak speed. But even teaching speed is possible with things like form training and weight loss.
      The way you're making it sound is that CP3 was just born with a fast handle. When in reality he probably worked just as hard as anyone, he just has a higher peak.
      My point is, you don't know your peak. So don't ever give up. Keep practicing on your handle. Don't just assume people are naturally better than you and you're at a disadvantage. Hard work really does work. You just have to stay committed.

    • @kefkapalazzo1
      @kefkapalazzo1 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      tghetto5 sorry thats not what i meant to say... i meant not everyone has the same peak. cp3 works harder than most players in the league (inspires me tbh, along with the kobes and blake griffins of the nba) but yeah he has a higher ceiling when it comes to handles. i meant he was born with talent that few of us possess, not that he was a prodigy outside of the womb or anything. but there are lots of guards with elite handles that work and their never reach his level... in my humble opinion the only 2 players on his level when it comes to handles are irving and curry

    • @tghetto5
      @tghetto5 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      kefkapalazzo1 Yeah I agree. I mean there may be people who can dribble faster and harder than Paul, or do double ball drills better than Paul. There are also players with more flashy handles than Paul, but when it comes to body control in tight spaces and getting wherever you want against NBA talent it's Paul no doubt. Tony Parker is pretty good at that too.
      To me though, it's more of a testament to him just knowing how to play out of the pick n roll. It's more of an intelligence thing. I imagine if you gave most NBA starting point guards dribbling drills, they could all do it at a similar speed. I think what really separates CP3 is his IQ.
      But overall I think we agree. He has something special. Not a lot of 6 foot dudes can dominate the NBA.
      I was just trying to motivate you. I work with little kids so I see it every day when the less coordinated kids get discouraged and stop trying. But you're right, not everyone is going to be CP3.

    • @Milo_K80
      @Milo_K80 11 ปีที่แล้ว

      He is still the 3rd best player in the game. the season after he had the major surgery he averaged 15.9 PPG and 9.8 APG. ever since then, his numbers have been on the rise. right now he is averaging 19.6 PPG and 11.2 APG which is right on the doorstep of his 2 best seasons from 2007-09. He's not as fast as he was, but he is a smarter player now. hes a better leader and a better passer now then he was before. He is more then making up for his lost speed, which is not to say he is slow or anything, as he is still one of the quickest players in the game( in the half court, change of pace,ect) and has above average end to end quickness.
