haha dude you do a great job on these videos! I learned hard flips before frontside flips so I would always think hardflip then turn my body. the more you do them the easier they get to do more like a kickflip. also waiting till the board is more vertical before flicking makes it easier to get your foot out of the way

When you're beginning to learn frontside flips, just roll straight then curve frontside right before you pop, and do a normal kickflip and you'll automatically end up doing a fs flip without much effort. You'll only need to transfer your weight to the other end of the board once you land. And then swing your shoulders for consistency. Once you have frontside flips down using the curving method, you'll automatically learn how to do them straight on over time.

    You’re doing good.
Just turn your shoulders as soon as you pop and follow through with your shoulders until you complete the 180.
Don’t depend on the pivot for the rotation. Form the trick 180 before committing. Should help.

    • @snowyrox3331

@@localjoe what he said^^ You gotta flick kinda down and backwards, this way the board can flip through your legs a little so the board can do the frontside flip motion. Once it flips and rotates correctly, focus on catching it with the front foot. The reason the trick wasn't working is because you're doing a slanted normal kickflip which just throws the board off course and prevents the fs rotation.

Hey, good video. You have the same tendency I had. You are very impatient in moving your back foot to the front. You don't let the board turn 180 and flip quiet. The magic hack is that you have to keep your back foot BACK while you flick your front foot out, doesn't matter the angle you flick, your brain knows you want to do fs 180. Do it flexing your knees well down and jump harder. Cheers.

I asked him about frontside flips at Pood. He said he also "waits" before the flick. He said he kinda delays the kick till his board gets more vertical. Like if standing on your tail is a 45 degree angle, he waits till its around 70 degrees or so. Not that he's actually thinking about the angle, but just to show how much he delays the flick

I don't have the trick down yet but for me getting the full rotation is not a problem. I feel like you really should aim to get the full 180. So don't try to pivot or at least try to get your shoulders full 180. I think then the pivot will come automatically if you're feet or the board don't make the full 180

You should focus more on the Catch +-90° and then push the rest of the rotation with the back foot rather than doing the opposite(90° and focusing on the front foot pivot) => pivot kind of happens naturally... the moment you focus on it you ll miss it 😜 at least that's how I see FS flips and I ve been struggling for years to decently master it 😀 A good practice for the trick is learning how to catch your kickflip and pushing it with the back foot...good luck 👍

literally got the best Frontside flips on the planet and there are no guides breakdowns on him
I have watched you trying and trying and want you to get this, you look at Reynolds he tried to copy Penny way back in the day, skaters favourite skater video
So it is all in the shoulders as soon as you pop turn your leading shoulder in your case right, that is it the golden secret,
flush 180 no pivot or caught 90 and reverted, where your shoulders go the rest has to follow
stick your thumb up as it opens the shoulders relaxed not tense, you do it on the trampoline, not on concrete, you end up with a balled fist and only going 90,
Thumb down for backside closes the muscles
Watch Penny's even at 45 yrs old in an es ad they are no different than 20years ago,
I actually scrolled down to see if anyone had mentioned him, why has this guy got lost in being mentioned on the frontside flip

why you just look at the foots? 90%of the hack is he´s shooulders position! and the positioning of the legs! the rule is the board follow the shoulders! if you flip normally with the shoulders at 90 degrees you land a perfect 90 degrees rotation flip! to complete the 180 you must to catch this flip with the tail foot and just push foward a littlebit! if you catch with the front foot probably you go to break the board soon... the most important is 90 dregress perfect catch with the tail foot! the rest is training! and flik the flip more like a normal kikflip! straigth foward ! (no matter what you do if you flip whith the shoulders alredy pre rotated the board go to follow the exact same angle!)

you're going a little too slow! really wind those arms too, you had it down with the 180's but i know you're thinking about the flip more than anything else when you try to put it together. really wind those arms/shoulders and pop like you're going to 180 and get that quick flick in. when i learned them, i would aim to land my front foot on the nose and revert 30-45 degrees. once you get comfortable with the flip and rotation, you can literally do a FS kickflip, catch it at 90 degrees and your body motion will give you the other 90 degree. FS flips are my shit i used to do them down EVERYTHING!

I realised that flicking a millisecond late can help preforming the trick way effortlessly

Tip to help all tricks in the kindest way possible is to become lighter on your feet when I blew discs in my spine I went from 78kg to 86 kg from lack of activity once I could properly ride again my pop and nimbleness was greatly decreased once I got back down to 80kg I seen massive improvments in my skating, how I like to explain the difference is hold a 5kg weight and try do an Ollie now imagine that 5kg weight is attached to your body and how much harder it would be to do the trick 🙏 much respect but for me personally when I'm at my 78 kg weight is when I'm at my peak performance for skating everything becomes easier, everyone has there own weight ideals but deffs will help all your tricks
