@@melanien.1883 you will need to do your research. I love my Pixel 5 by Google. It depends on what you want to do with it. Android is the software that runs the phone. There are many models out there. When I was looking at Pixel 5 I was also looking at the "One plus 8" phone. I heard good things about both. The 1+8 has a bigger screen, heavier and slightly larger battery but in the end I stuck with Pixel 5 because of the "screen call" feature (an unknown caller (and we get this lots) can be passed to Google assistant. The caller is greeted by Google assistant and asks them what they want. As they speak you see it on the screen and read it. It doesn't happen all the time, but the more I use it & the more I'm outdoors in bright daylight, the more likely it seems to be. It renders the phone utterly useless.

Very helpful video. Thank you. When I try to turn off location permission for google, I only have the choice of allow all the time or deny. The other options are grayed out.
If, like me, you're interested in having access to your location timeline in Google Maps, you don't want to turn off location history. Also, preferred network depends on your carrier. I have a Google Unlocked Pixel 5 on Verizon, and my choices under that setting are "Global", "LTE/ CDMA", and "LTE / GSM / UMTS" Mine is set on Global.
Other than what two things you mentioned would you recommend all other changes from the video? I only ask because I have the same phone as you with Verizon, so I kept mine on Global, I don't care about my location timeline and I adopted all other changes, but I'm hoping my phone will still work for me:)
@@geico1975 well, keep in mind that things have changed since this video was made. For one, there actually is much more 5G coverage now, so leaving your phone on Global is a good choice. Also, I'm pretty sure that permissions are removed automatically for apps that don't get used by you for a while. That being said, if you want to go through the list of apps and change permissions, there's no ill effects of that. Like the video said, you'll be alerted if something needs permission. I'm not sure about the WiFi and Bluetooth scanning, especially the latter. It seems to me that if you turn off Bluetooth scanning, every time you turn on your wireless earpiece/earbuds you'll have to manually connect it. But I could be wrong about that. As for personalized ads, I don't know, they could be right that you "might" see less ads, but if what the settings say is correct, if I'm going to see ads anyway, I'd rather they be ads that interest me. IF YOU WANT PRIVACY GOOGLE ITS NOT AN OPTION PERIOD
hey, on your last tip for 5G, my Google Pixel 2 has different options than yours showed: Global, LTE/CDMA, and LTE/GSM/UMTS. What are these and what should my phone be set to?
mine has the same options, did you ever get this figured out? idk what to put mine at and why 5G isn't an option lol except mine is a Google Pixel 5
Great vid thanks
THANK'S FOR THE INFORMATION. GOOD VIDEO.
I don't know if you guys know the answer to this but I'm trying to stream games on my pixle 4a phone using elgato hd60s and the proper adapters. But it's not working correctly. Someone mentioned to me about HDCP. i don't know if that's some kind of blocker for the android but I was searching for help and came across this video. Idk if you can help me or not.
These are not Pixel settings but all Android settings. I have every single setting of these on my Huawei phone... Very useful video with only the wrong title.
Can you help me to disable recently used app in my google pixel 4a? Basically it's called "App Prediction". I am unable to find this in my google pixel 4a.
How does one record a voicemail greeting on a Pixel 3XL?.My voicemail greeting just disappeared from my phone and now there does not appear to be an option to record a new one? Thanks Guys.
You should also turn on incognito mode inside the Map app. Keeps Google from following you 24/7.

You're never going to see less ads by opting out of that... The ad inventory doesn't change, you're just going to see worse ads. There are ALWAYS plenty of advertisers who aren't good at targeting that just serve ads to anyone and everyone.
But it's worth doing just to stick it to the snoopy targeters. I'm not a commodity.
And to turn off 5g on the pixel 5 on Google fi... Just reboot in safe mode and switch it to LTE. Then restart phone. It should stay that way. That's the only way you can do it on Google Fi. Great video guys🕶️💜
