Everything was normal, the Bezel is in mint condition, but I accidentally severed the navigation flex from the glass and now my light keys neither light up or function. Anyways, does heating the screen damage the screen in any way? Because it seems to be the only way to get into the device. Thanks in advance
hi Thanks for teardown. I replaced my LCD screen and main speaker now doesn't work. Is it poss to do with replacement or just speaker faulty. If speaker is faulty is it poss speaker or circuitry how do I prove which without teardown. I don't think it was faulty b4. regards but may have been on way out?
Hi thanks for reply. Yes sound from earphone... I only replaced lcd so I never took mid-frame off. This is what doesn't make sense, if the ribbon wasn't connected properly or LCD faulty could this cause speaker fault?
on my s5 i you cannot take off the ribbon cover to detach the ribbon. also the digitizer ribbon runs through the back of the phone at the top, are there different models of s5?
Thank you for the tutorial...it was realy helpfull...i just replaced the main frame...i toulk all the parts from the old frame and put them in the new frame...works like new :X
Cory Adams No, you don't need to, just go to your local repair shop to check it out, usually the examination is free. Or you can disassemble it by yourself as we just showed you in the video. If the screen still can't be lighted up, then you need to replace the screen, actually you need a lcd screen and digitizer assembly for Samsung smartphone screen choose AMOLED display as screen, which can't be separated by hand.

I'm nowhere near confident in tearing my phone all the way down, but from the video I saw of the camera lens being replaced I'm confident I could do that with the heart monitor if possible
should warn about the little flex cables at the bottom for the recents and back buttons which are fragile. also the likelihood of ruining the black layer behind the glass which in my case got totally separated so the glass is clear now ... Overall its probably not worth doing this unless you Absolutely need to

Old video, but just watching it now... first thing they tell you to do is an incomplete step. Just putting on the static strap does absolutely nothing if you do not have it attached in some way to ground it.

All good, learned my jack is fine, was the headset that was bad. Easily replaced.

Chris Jones d have taken apart again and replaced speaker but it still isn't working...any idea what next

Can the chrome bezel around the heart rate sensor be removed easily?
I was hoping the chrome bezel from the heart monitor came off as easily as the bezel around the camera
