- Got a chance to meet up with subscriber Scott for a fishing outing here. Scott is a Schmidtee lure user and has started crunching his own too. You can get yours here tinyurl.com/2r... We started slow, but it picked up with 30-40 fish total. Best brown was a 15.5" fat brown. We had brookies and browns in some mildly stained water. The continuing rain poses challenges. Plan B was an unsuccessful solo monster hunt. Happy Fishing!
Love it ron! I miss living in the driftless. You're living the dream
Thanks and happy fishing!
Good numbers !! Missing Wisconsin already
Thanks and happy fishing!
Ron you put together two dynamite days on the water!
Things have been snapping. Hope it stops raining for a bit. Thanks and happy fishing!
Thanks again Ron! You definitely out-fished me 😂. Had a great time.
Love Ron's lures!
No problem, I only fish against myself...unless Adam wants to keep score or lose money. Hahahaha. Great to get out there with you Scott. Happy fishing!
@@Scott-Witter schmidtee's rule! Happy fishing!!
"Can't stand chubs". No biodiversity, no biomass. Great call on the biggest brown trout, 25:29, but that branch and overhanging tree only one for miles in another DNR and TUDARE reed canary grass stream designed for blue heron rookery number 165. I would love to plant a couple of black willow trees on the shoreline about every 200 feet on this stream. Wow, just think, every 200 feet you could say, "there's a big brown trout under the black willow tree". P.S. I love blue herons and the DNR should sell a blue heron stamp to pay the hatchery costs and the fish biologists salary designing these streams for feeding the blue heron rookeries.
Yes, and we saw a new HI part that was under construction down stream a bit. Typical slope and grade flood control, remove all trees, throw rocks in the middle of the stream. I guess if is prevents erosion, helps thermal profile and can increase repro that's all good. I am skeptical that it will restore better bio diversity, but it will fly fish more easily. Happy fishing!
Great video! What creek was this?
Thanks. I do not name places on utube. I suggest checking out WI DNR maps for places you wish to fish. Every designated WI trout stream is mapped and listed by county. Happy fishing!
