I'd never heard of amniotic fluid embolism before but it sounds like a tragic complication. This guy is very courageous in being so open with his story. He's lost a wife and his children have lost their Mum. I can only hope that some good can come out of it. RIP young angel.
Lets me real she did it bc of the $35,000-$50,000 surrogates get quit with wanted to help others. A mother with her own 5 kids doesnt just take gambles like this unless needing money. He didnt even wait a year and is remarried already spending gofund me money and life insurance etc on new wife ... Thats sad
@@JJtvee The way he is living it is the issue. It sounds like he got remarried because he didn’t want to do all the physical labor that comes with being a parent. It is not unheard of for a man to remarry for the kid’s to have a mother. His wife did it for the money. They were in bad situation financially. Not sure why ppl are afraid of telling the straight truth. If they were in a good financial situation she would have never done it… RIP to the victims of surrogacy 😢
I know IVF pregnancies are higher risk in general, so I wonder if the reason surrogate pregnancies are high risk is due to the IVF process. Thanks for sharing your story and I’m so sorry for your loss.
She wouldn’t have done it without the payment. I am so frustrated husbands fail to care for their family’s and pretend it isn’t about the money. This was preventable. This so so sad.
@@Norcrossa. I agree it’s truly a tragedy. I didn’t have strong opinions or feelings on surrogacy before but I can confidently say I am against it at this point.
So tragic - and now her 4 children are without a mother. Tragically amniotic embolism can happen in any pregnancy, while things have greatly improved for birthing women - pregnancy and birthing remain the leading cause of death for women aged 12 to 25 with over 300,000 tragically losing their lives each year... And then there are all the babies. Life is risk.
We had friends in RSA 25 odd years ago who struggled to fall pregnant, they had a few cycles of infertility treatment which did not work so they gave up and then a while later fell pregnant naturally. Sadly the wife died during the birth from an amniotic embolism. Baby survived fortunately. The father was a pastor and you can imagine what an impact this had on everybody. Having watched this I am now wondering about the possible impact of the infertility treatment. I do think that there should be research and follow up on these reproductive technologies effects. I also recall working as a phlebotomist in the 90's and doing bloods a few times on a young woman with an extremely rare cardiac tumour a few times. Sadly she died but I knew that she had been having infertility treatment. By coincidence, I bumped into the oncologist who had treated her and who I knew, and I asked her wether she thought that the hormones could have impacted on the tumours development and growth. She did not even hesitate and said of course ! Food for thought. Well done for bringing these issues out into the sunlight, the best disinfectant. I am so sad for this man and his children. Just awful. 😢
May God be near you Trey and comfort you and your children. Thank you for sharing your story. This is so tragic and so hard to understand. It sounds like you are a good dad and doing the best you can
Really sad, with all due respect he can say she wanted to help but we know most woman because of the high payments. Really sad! Praying for this family God comfort their hearts! Definitely don’t agree with this kind of business.
I feel like they prioritized the baby over the woman in this case. How can you do a surgery (c section) on someone unstable? C sections are already risky…
This was completely preventable. Trey, you should have taken better care of your wife. She wouldn’t have taken the risk without the payment. This is so sad. You should feel guilt for not finding a way to meet the family’s financial needs. Oh my… this is tragic.
'm sorry to hear the sad news. But I would say that amniotic fluid embolism is one of the complications of childbirth, even if it's a natural birth, it can happen and it has a very high mortality rate, and it has nothing to do with surrogacy. If you really want to avoid this situation completely, the best way is to ban childbirth and develop artificial wombs instead of human reproduction. But at the same time you're against artificial wombs, so I doubt your true intentions.
Exactly why it should be respected more. Honestly the way some people talk about surrogacy- the money they’re spending etc. it’s like they have no understanding or respect for women they’re just buying a service.
Oh and another thing. Sorry, but women DO still die in childbirth...more so than most people realize...and its quite often due to amniotic embolisms and post partum hemmorage (PPH). AE's and PPH are not exclusive to surrogate pregnancies. How ludicrous to imply that and spread that misinformation. I was an L&D, Antepartum, Mother-Baby, Pediatric and NICU RN for over 30 years. Yes I was cross trained to them all. 16 of those years were at Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose; a state of the art hospital that catered to a wealthy demographic and was renowned for its expertise and excellence in delivering babies; with an excellent reputation for mothers and babies having very positive outcomes; among the best outcomes in all of California. However, there were still several women who died , and none of the several dozen I was aware of and/or cared for first hand were surrogates. You make it sound lke surrogates are at a higher risk for developing and dying from AEs. Thats absurd and very irresponsible for you to make that claim. The responsible thing to do would be to apoligize for that load of BS, oops I mean misinformaiton, because it is not crediible or accurate, and it makes you appear to be extremely lacking in credibility also. Your channel is SO agendized that if it weren't so tragic that you are spreading this biased, highly agendized misinformation that it would be absolutely comical.

Two surrogates in the U.S. have died of this complication. We need research to better understand if surrogacy puts women at higher risk.
The ambulance stopping at stop signs and red lights why!? They could have saved her life!

It's not sad that he is continuing to live his life?

Thank you Trey for opening up. We need more education and research on women's health

If people truly deserve to be parents it will happen naturally. Buying babies is wrong!
Oh how heart breaking. Thank you for sharing your story to educate others.
He’s still so indoctrinated even in her death 😢 nothing is beautiful about this, no part.
So sorry for your loss. May God help you find a new wife, even though she will never replace the one you lost.

Are births of twins or triplets more likely to lead to health complications? Because surrogacy/IVF has a much higher chance of this outcome
