Guys he was just rolling up a canvas drop cloth to protect the ice from leaves. If wind blows loose leaves on the ice, they attract light and will melt small spots where they lay
They did a lot of sick moves for the amount of ice they had. I might show this video to my hockey team... honestly. Our coach always complains how we don't "save ice and use small spaces". This vid exemplifies HOW to save ice and use small spaces. Lol, think I'm gonna facebook share this. Great job guys.
it may be small but i really like this video bruh the editing and the beginning and how everyone walked to the back yard and laced up their skates and the commentary and just everything is pretty cool man keep it up, you just got a new subcriber lmaoo
If you have slope in your yard one side will have a lot more water than the other side. I just did my backyard rink for the season and I have about 8-10 inches on one side and 3-5 on the other. Just keep filling until you have about 3 inches at your shallowest spot.
Depending on where you are, and provided the average nighttime temps are getting to just above freezing, it can take anywhere from 2 - 4 days to make the first slab of ice. Once you have 2" - 3" of ice made, the chiller unit(s) can maintain this all winter up to about 45 - 50 degrees F.
I’m not watching this when I was five but when I was five I remember showing my mom this video but she didn’t really care because she was watching my brother play now I’m rated one of the best schools in Michigan 09
Times like these I wish I lived in Canada. We don't get snow or ice here in California... Makes it harder to practice but roller hockey is a close second. What I would give for a rink though...
good luck. if u have like, a barn or if ur basement is big enough u can build on in there, or there is this thing called "synithic ice'' (not sure if i spelled it right) but its ice that u can wear ur skates on and ur skates dont get screwes up and the ice doesnt melt
@BlackSunShreders You would turn the chiller off and then wait for the ice to melt. Once the ice has melted, they roll up and store the rink piping, boards and staging area and then they can use the in ground pool again!
This rink is refrigerated on a level staging area. If you are making a natural rink on an area that has a rather large grade, sometimes it is best to just pool the water and wait for it to freeze solid. This will depend on your weather and the amount of grade you have.
These are specially designed "foam" boards from Athletica. They are covered in canvas and connected with velcro. This makes them very portable and also helps to reduce puck noise.
ever since the first time i saw this video i've been keeping an eye out for a ginger more red then this one... still haven't come across one yet, this guy is like raggedy ann's human cousin
this is fucking awesome. Though we used to get a long winter here in finland when I was a kid but nowdays with the studying and all the outside-ice season kinda ends short. Something like this would be the shit
With this being a refrigerated rink, it should only take about 2-4 days to make your first ice slab. You can skate on as little as 1.5" - 2" of ice and it will stay frozen up to 45 F. Be sure to visit our website for more information!
you're skills are sick wish i could do that tbh i wish i could skate lol i love hockey but in england where i'm from not much oppituites to play only 50 rinks in whole of UK
im from quebec and im a major habs fan i want to play for them oneday ... love the video we make an ice rink in the winer but it never lasts till may! how much did it cost
Really nice rink! You should invest in a proper goal tho! If your father knows how to weld and got access to it. just put the pipes together, paint it red and get the net on! Doesnt cost that much either! :)
Let me rephrase my comment, some Canadians don't like hockey and long winters so it sucks for them, however I love hockey so I love our long winters :)

the guy who gained all my respect is the shooter in th orange jersey because he wears pajamas to hockey I do that like everyday thumbs up
the kid in the canadiens jersey is amazing. good enough to go pro
In American we put have pools in the summer and don't go out during the winter. Apparently the opposite happens in Canada.
The kid with the Canadiens jersey on has some skill for sure.
This is like the 20th time I've watched this
that rink looks sick!
wow you did a lot more work than us haha in our video you can see that all we did was put boards up, put a huge tarp under it all and then flood it
Watching this in the summer makes me fucking cry

These are specially designed "foam" boards from Athletica. They are covered in canvas and connected with velcro. This makes them very portable and also helps to reduce puck noise.

Yeah except for some Canadians who like summer sports! We get practically no summer but a nice long winter for hockey!!!
Lucky guys. Some real skill out there.
The deke at 2:55 looks soo clean/nice
This is a refrigerated ice rink that can maintain ice up to 50 F (10 C). It is not quite summer, but can offer up to 5 months of real ice!
Cool Rink Guys!
Maybe turn down the annoying music so we can hear what you say?

im from quebec and im a major habs fan i want to play for them oneday ... love the video we make an ice rink in the winer but it never lasts till may! how much did it cost
sick setup boys!
Dude that is sooo sick!!!
...It would be hard to maintain a rink like that in and around the Vancouver area I would think.
Really nice rink! You should invest in a proper goal tho! If your father knows how to weld and got access to it. just put the pipes together, paint it red and get the net on! Doesnt cost that much either! :)
the guy in the habs jersy is sick and all the other guys too
@ObviousLedgend It is REAL ice with refrigeration by Custom Ice Rinks. It can keep ice up to 50 degrees
im suprised there is no1 calling them benders, seems like a trend in hockey vids
Thats some smooth ice
You guys are really good keep it up
Let me rephrase my comment, some Canadians don't like hockey and long winters so it sucks for them, however I love hockey so I love our long winters :)
