    Which surface do you like?

      Hi ACPilot!
So far we have four products on the hill. The white carpet under the lifeline, (Powder Pack USA) is good for going up only! You can't ski on it despite the companies claims. Many of the salesmen selling these products are not fully honest people unfortunately, be warned!
The best surface we've tested is the Junway tiles from China. SOFT BRISTLES!!! You can actually carve on it without it felling like you're on a sheet of ice. Very durable so far.
The under fabric and the sliding jell is from Neveplast. Great stuff! (They also sell a softer bristle product but this year it was out of our price range.)
If you plan on investing, it would be a good idea to speak with me before purchasing product. It also depends on what specific skiing/riding things you might be using it for. ⛷😁

@@Stringsvibe1 Been looking at Junway, they gave me link to your video. Problem the chinese manufacturers do not really have any good references like Neveplast. Neveplast i tried, feels a lot like icy snow.. no good in my opinion. I like good grip without agressive edge skiing. I think UK based Proslope will be better for that, but expensive product and requires water spray.
Juneay have two surfaces i am looking at, one is like q-tips/mushroom style, the other a copy of neveplast. You tried both, what do you find best?

@@ACPilot Yeah, Neveplast has great promotion. Most companies promos and videos are awful.
I felt the mushroom style wouldn't wear as well. Once the heads are scraped flat, you're back to plastic bristles. One reason why the mushroom is popular is because it's geared more to be beginner and falling friendly. You can ski in shorts without worrying. Personally, those priorities are not mine. I want the best skiing possible. They could ski well but I didn't want to take any more chances.
We started with the Trex tiles and liked the way they skied when very wet.You have to keep them wet though, can't turn off the water or they stop sliding.
As far as the tooth brush style goes, two of our skier's have ski this style in Europe. None of them were happy with the feel, too slow, they feel the Junway (soft) is better.
I think with good sliding agent (Neveplast), the Pro Slope would work much better as does the Trex tiles we still use.(You can get Trex from Reliable Racing) Everything works better with the sliding agent. It takes very little and lasts a long time, even after rain. Does make it feel icier though but it's worth it, just a touch.
The Neveplast stye has a better interconnection system, less anchoring needed. If they have one with a longer softer bristle, it might work well too.
Please let me know what new info you may discover and what you end up going with. The other issue might be, minimum order. How much do you need? Some companies won't ship less than 300 sq meters. I think Junway is 100 sq meters.
If you've skied on Neveplast Alpine, you'll like the Junway much better. Good edging skills always help but shouldn't be the only stye that works. I'm betting all these surfaces feel a bit icy.

@@Stringsvibe1 Thx, for the answer. I want to buy sample to test myself. Issue is that to test the sample has to be big enough to get speed and make turns and stop.. easily 2-300 sqm to order.. money out the window if no good, and then you use again on another product to test. Junway do not have any references of any large skislopes using it, like Neveplast and UK Proslope does. The chinese selling products have never skied either 😂. The other thing is wear and mounting. The chinese seller ladies often recommend to mount the surface on concrete or wood base 🤪😂

It's really hard to sort through all the products out there. 🤔😪 I've been thinking about this for years and would love to test and manufacture my own product. Non of the products are perfect so far. I did want to try Pearl Snow. I thought it might work well here but too expensive to test.
It took a few weeks to get Junway anchored and stable on the hill using lawn staples and Zip Ties. We also have moguls and that's a whole other challenge. The hill is super stable now and needs just accessional inspections.⛷
I'm using slalom skis this season. This really helps because they're made to carve so they have better edge contact with the surface giving much better edge control without having to make high edge angles.
If you're near North Central VT and want to try skiing on the Junway tiles, give me a call and we can schedule a session.⛷
