I'm sorry but this is ridiculous why in the world would anyone want to go to a wedding that cost that much if it was me I'd rather just stay home or better yet go to another person's wedding screw this one
An invitation is not an invoice. It is beyond tacky to ask guests to pay a fee to attend a wedding. Younger people seem to think that everything can be boiled down to money.
Money grabbing fools. No one should attend!!!😢😮😢😮If you want an expensive experience then save up for it. Do they own their home outright, (no mortgage) why not use that money to invest in something tangible. One of the major causes of divorce is finance, if you start off with a negative balance, what do you think would happen down the road?
When you HOST an event, you HOST it--plan it and pay for it. Asking your guests to pay to attend your wedding is CLASSLESS. If you can't afford the big wedding, then scale it back. They'd have been standing there alone invited me...
and comparing their "entertainment value" as equivalent to freaking beyonce....i don't even like beyonce, and even i admit she's got talent, i just don't like it for me.
When my oldest daughter got married the whole affair only cost her $3500. We all met at an arboretum chairs were put up . She rented her wedding dress. They called a jop and had their beautiful little wedding. After we all met at a nice restaurant and had dinner.
Weddings don’t have to be expensive. I like backyard weddings. They are always beautiful events no matter how small or the local. Many people get married in the living room of a family home. And I see people get married at our time share in Orlando. It’s perfect, because it’s so beautiful there and they have the nice lakes , pools , restaurants and room so guest have a nice time and a place to stay. I always think what a good idea.
I've heard several stories of young couples who charge to attend their wedding. At some of them 80 percent of those receiving invitations send their regrets. Then the couple is outraged.
@@clon662b3lmao you here too saying you don’t care. Man you really putting energy commenting you care too much about this chill out lil girl. Out yo feelings must be yo wedding
Me personally, I’d stay as far as possible away from people who try to live vicariously through celebrities or even worry about keeping up with them. These people are the epitome of not knowing when to stay in their lane. You’re obviously not in position to pay for a six figure wedding but here they are charging people to attend. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with doing what you can afford and then stacking your money up and creating financial wealth and raising a family.
First of all, everyone is not paying money to go see Beyoncé, second if you can’t afford to have the wedding of your choice without charging your guest then don’t invite anyone and just have wedding for yourself🤷🏾♀️
The thought of being charged to attend a wedding is utterly RIDICULOUS. If you can't afford it, DO NOT do it. The Justice of the Peace is FREE. A will give a gift.
I’m 61-year-old woman who got married in 1983. My wedding budget was about $3000. I was 20 years old and intelligent enough to know that $3000 was all we had. This is another horrible trend started by SOME from this younger generation, but the problem is those who subscribe to this mess. Everything is about trends and going viral. These type of people are caught up in reality TV, copying Beyoncé, Kardashian, etc, and trying to out do the last wedding. They don’t have 10% of the money these people have, but everybody wants flash. So, I ask, why would an intelligent person subscribe to somebody else’s delusion? I think it’s idiotic. Let’s put energy into the marriage so they can last a lifetime and produce healthy, well adjusted, smart children.
Don’t invite me, Id rather stay home. I’ll send you a congratulations & Best wishes text! It’s a choice you don’t have to spend so much on a wedding, small & intimate!
Someone's lack of budgeting skills does not constitute a bill for me....worse than tacky. PS you ain't Beyonce. And I would not pay that to see her either.
I hate weddings. Just go to the courthouse and get married. People have these big extravagant weddings but won’t fight to stay together when they hit a rough patch. Weddings are giant waste of money. I wouldn’t pay to go to anyone’s wedding.
Sorry but it would have been only them and the Good Lord... Good bless their union... so now if they don't make it... everyone that paid to attend should file a civil suit for emotional distress
So basically these kinds of folks want a top of the line wedding, but dont have the money to cover the cost or they took out huge loans and charge the guest to pay their debts.. The crazy part is that in some cases folks actually paid and had no problem supporting. Whats even wilder, is that not only to these couples want people to pay to attend but they expect a wedding present. Smh
Here in Tanzania it's a normal thing you have to pay in order to attend any wedding. If you don't pay you will not attend. And they also expect you to go with gift!
If I was going to spend that on a wedding gift, then that would be their gift. But I'm cheap and don't like giving gifts so I wouldn't pay over $100 unless I really love you. But I don't want people stressed about coming to my party because they don't have money for gifts. So my parties are no gift party. Just come and have a good time.
Why send a gift to a couple who thinks so little of you they expect you to pay to attend their wedding? I would ignore the invite and wouldn't send a gift either.
Do they get married for love or just to trow a party? At my wedding there were only 16 people ,my brother had ten and my Daughter had 14. Small get togethers but still together.🎉
NO, I kept my wedding to what I could afford and I didn’t have to worry about creditors afterwards, I created my decorations, bought my flowers at Trader Joe’s; in lieu of presents we asked our guest to bring non perishables thinking they’ll bring a couple of cans but I ended up with boxes full of foods which we sent to an orphanage in Mexico because they don’t get government help. It made us feel great, it made our wedding memorable. I paid $6 for my dress, brand new, it was from an out of season clearance at Dillard’s.
Most people already “pay” to go to weddings. The gifts, travel expenses and booking a hotel room for the night if you don’t live close enough. And the clothes. Lots of people go shopping just to buy a dress or a suit for a wedding. Or they dig out their best dress or suit. So weddings can mean dry cleaning expenses either before or after the event. On top of everything else.
I don’t think anyone brought this up, but weddings outside the USA a lot of times family members will help cover the cost. I don’t mind an expensive wedding if the community wants to help pay for the cost. Me & my husband were prepared to have to small wedding & the community wanted to help pay for things like food & music & drinks. The problem with that was the community then set the standard with the type of food, drinks, and reception hours
Wow this video is divine intervention at its finest; I say that because I’m literally in a situation now with an old friend from school just recently invited to her wedding excited for her we talked about her budget being $20k for a destination wedding and guests would only be required to pay for flight; she just sent me recently a web link from the travel agent $1500 for hotel fees 🧐🤨😑 my mom was like you shouldn’t have to pay because your a guest what are you paying for? This video just confirmed my decision which is why I said divine intervention won’t God do it. If you can’t afford the wedding don’t have people need to stop living like the Jones’; God Bless 🙏🏾
If someone has the audacity to ask that much cash to attend, I would not only NOT go, I would not send a monetary gift....maybe a self help book on tact and class...and how to live within your means.
I completely agree if you can’t afford a lavish wedding don’t have one. It’s ridiculous that someone would expect others to pay for a wedding you can’t afford.
The parents should be the ones paying! It’s not our fault their parents didn’t prioritize their daughters future wedding or these people are waiting until they are in their late 40s and mid 50s to get married and their parents are dead
I love to host gatherings ..and have NEVER ask guests to bring anything pay anything period!! If I invited you I want you there…the individuals presence and time to come is a gift…
That's how the Chinese do it. Nothing new. To answer the question, yes, I would pay to go to a wedding depending on who's wedding it is. If it's a close friend and family, *ABSOLUTELY!* If it's an acquaintance or someone that I'm not close to, *NEVER!* I'm giving them cash gift anyways.
