- Cleveland weather forecast for Thursday, January 9, 2025.
Don't be alarmed. The SUN will return today in our skies for the first time this year. Locate those sunglasses as the glare off the snow will be on the intense side -- but we'll take it!
Temps will be cold as they only reach into the low to mid 20s at best.
Clouds will increase tonight out ahead of our next storm system that will bring widespread accumulating snow through northern Ohio later Friday into Friday night. We have Weather Impact Alerts that kick in Friday afternoon through Saturday in anticipation of this widespread snow.
This system is just getting going now down in Texas and will bring heavy snows from Dallas to Little Rock to Nashville.
Locally, we'll see a steady light to moderate snow move in across all of northern Ohio Friday afternoon into that evening commute. Roads are expected to get tricky for the Friday evening commute and your Friday evening plans. Snow will transition to lake effect snow on Saturday before coming to an end.
We're expecting an area-wide 2 to 4 inches of snow with a few additional inches possible with the lake effect on Saturday.
We'll catch a break from the action on Sunday with yet another system expected to swing through with more snow Monday, leading to much colder air and several days of lake effect snow next week!
Here is your 3-day Cleveland weather forecast.
TODAY: Bright sunshine returns. Cold with highs in the low 20s.
FRIDAY: Increasing clouds with snow moving back in during the afternoon. Several inches possible by Friday night. Low to mid 20s.
SATURDAY: Snow showers. Upper 20s.

Hey Matt thank you from update. Is it possible to slow down the speed of the precipitation just a little bit over the NORTHEAST OHIO area when you show the movement. It will help when making plans and my timing of those plans. I understand it’s not exact but slowing down JUST A BIT makes it easier to follow the approximate timing of the precip
Tap gear at top right, select playback speed, slow down to best suit your preference. Hope this helps.
