STUCK IN THE SAND - MCSO Arrests Fleeing Suspect

- On January 15, 2023, at approximately 3:00 a.m., Deputy Kevin Wilson arrested Stephen Perk (H/M, DOB: 10/05/1986) for Fleeing to Elude a Law Enforcement Officer and Driving with a Revoked License. Perk also had a violation of probation warrant for Driving Under the Influence.
While traveling near the 8300 block of SW Highway 484, Deputy Wilson observed a white Mercedes C240 swerving within the lane, speeding, and crossing over the center yellow line. As the driver, Stephen Perk, turned onto Marion Oaks Pass, Deputy Wilson attempted to conduct a traffic stop with his lights and siren activated. Perk refused to stop and fled at a high rate of speed until he drove off of the roadway while turning onto Southwest 88th Court. Perk’s tires began to spin in the sand and Deputy Wilson utilized his patrol vehicle to force Perk’s tires further into the sand, which caused Perk to become stuck. He was ultimately removed from the vehicle. Perk advised he fled because he had an active warrant and does not have a valid driver’s license.
Perk was arrested and transported to the Marion County Jail, where he is held without bond.

He had a warrant for VOP. and he knew that means no bond, so he figured adding a felony fleeing charge would be his best choice. Common sense isn't very common anymore. lol.
People, I know it may be hard for some, but if you have a warrant the best thing you can do is go down and turn yourself in. If you turn yourself in your day in court will go much better for you. Turning yourself in shows the court that you are being responsible, which tells them that you're most likely a good candidate for maybe a fine or probation instead of a jail sentence. Doing what this guy did lets the court know that he is not responsible at all, so he needs to spend some time behind bars to hopefully help him learn to be more responsible.
It's part of Desantis' dumbing down of Florida citizens so he can stay on the throne as long as possible.

Love these videos and the work of law enforcement, but I wish these States would invest in the new technology that is out there to bring chases to a safe and swift stop. Far too many brave men and women of law enforcement are put into these dangerous fast pursuits that put their lives and innocent civilians lives at risk on a daily basis. The technology has been around for the last 5 years at least, so Governors and State legislatures please make use of it and help keep those officers 👮🏼♂️👮🏾♀️👮🏼👮🏽♂️safe on the job so they can come home too their families each night.
