In a way, that’s a good thing as nobody wants faux friends. I actually moved 2500 miles away and reinvented myself. I got all new friends and built a solid reputation in a new community. I would change nothing. One thing that confused our friends and acquaintances was my husband actually left the home and moved in with an old girlfriend who he eventually married. Because he did the leaving, I wasn’t completely to blame for the failed marriage. I would say it had a huge impact on my musical career in my hometown. Fortunately, I write a lot of songs and had some success on my own.
