I still have mine. I have been wearing it almost daily since the 90's. I have had to replace the band around ten times. I need to get a new seal. Just a small scratch in the crystal. Still love it.
I had one of these, since new, but the battery was dead. I opened the back to replace the battery and then took it apart to check it out and I dropped it.. the second and minute hand came off. I lost the second hand.. and honestly I am clumsy and couldn't get the minute hand back on. So, I looked for a donor watch, one that was working but was just very damaged cosmetically, I found one after a couple of months of waiting on ebay and put the two together and now have a brand new ad520 on my wrist again. I can see why I liked it back in the day, the little smiley face, the precision tick off each second marker. It's fun, Mine has the gold face and brushed aluminum look. the one I got as a donor was very shiny and didn't hold up that well.
I would love for you to make a video how to restore one of those Casio 520 I had to myself and I need to replace the glass and I don’t know how to start😂😂
Great job on the restoration. Your smiley looks fantastic! I have a Casio AD-770 and I love it. Casio was on another level on their designs and build quality in the 90’s for sure. Thanks!
Time is an issue at the moment,. No pun intended.......... Have a smiley I don't think was available in the UK, so many video reviews to catch up on I don't know where to start!
Nice video and nice job. Thank you for sharing. I like this one as well. For me it's a better size than the 320, slightly smaller on wrist. I have a few examples, one like yours but with sort of teardrop or half-arabesque on the non cardinal indices. I've seen that called Hershey Kiss style indices. The champagne colorway is also quite nice.
I have another smiley to review, smaller still, I imported to the UK and believe it was not for sale here. Thanks for the comments, much appreciated, and on a personal note love the smileys!
Hi, I have one of these Casio AD-520 from new and the bezel has never rotated, I would be interested to see yours rotate in a video, how it clicks etc.
Hello, bezel is just a simple friction type, no clicks, should rotate in either direction. I have several of these style Casio dive watches and all rotate. Is it a ad520? Had 2 seized in position when purchased but neither in 12 o'clock position. I have uploaded a video of a similar watch that will be live in early April with photos of bezel removed during renovation process. Is it definitely an ad520 you have?
@@everythingandanything6405 hi again, yes it’s exactly the same as the one in your video. I will have a go at removing it and cleaning under it but like I said it’s never rotated from new.
@@stebaz7 video of AD521 coming out 09.04.22 with pictures of bezel removed, that may help you. You could try a small amount of silicone lubricant spray around bezel first, but if it's Benn well used could likely need cleaning anyway
Satisfying to get something back from the brink, still looking for the right watch at the right price. Picked up another smiley with issues, repaired and light refinish, video soon. Thanks for the comment

Hopeful that Casio will reissue a new version of this watch, I loved mine back in the day and have a small collection with the same module.
Same exact thing happened to me

I thank you! I wish they reissued these, loved mine back in the day
Still have mine. Bought new in 1993. The analog part works perfectly. The digital part is nearly impossible to set.
Really looks good. Looking forward to the restoration video.
