Inflammatory bowel disease can be incredibly painful and debilitating. So glad to see this girl got a speedy diagnosis and good care. 😸
you too?? hugs if so..
She’s beautiful 😻 what a majestic face , hope she’s feeling better 🙏
I had a Bengal with IBD. He needed depo medrol injections from age 2 until he passed at 17 years old. The steroids were a game changer. He lived a completely healthy life despite the IBD diagnosis.
Thank you, Dr. Scott for helping Wilhelmina!
I had a stray cat come to my house in pitiful condition - skin and bones, constant diarrhea, and aggression issues. It took two years of one type of food, socialization to reduce aggression, and love - lots of love - to get Clive to the place where he has solid poos, feels confident, is a cuddly and purring love muffin. He needed time, patience, love, and consistency so he could become comfortable enough to be the confident, loving cat he always was.
Thank you for rescuing Clive, good for you and him! He probably would have died without you! It's amazing to save an animal's life, there's a very deep bond between you...💙
It always amazes me how animals can go through so much hardship and still find it in them to love.
That cat is gorgeous and sweet, even while ill. The couple’s dedication is inspiring. I really hope they can keep her, but I know they will find her a good home if they can’t.
What super foster carers for Wilhemina so patient and caring.
What a wonderful girl. Wilhelmina was such a good girl for all her treatment. In the last update you can see she is feeling so much better.
I had an Oriental boy and he suddenly became ill with a really upset tummy. Despite numerous visits to the vet he was getting worse. A lot if things had been ruled out but still no answers. Then I looked into raw food. I battled with my vet who was really not interested in me even trying raw food. Then after total desperation and my poor boy just getting worse to the point we thought we were going to lose him. So I tried him with Natures Menu frozen raw food. That was Saturday morning by Sunday afternoon he was having solid stools, no horrible smelly runny poos. Within a month of changing his diet he was transformed. He put weight on and all the upset tummy had completely gone away. He was almost 20 years old when he crossed the rainbow bridge. I truly believe that a raw diet saved his life.
Wishing Wilhelmina a good recovery and a happy life 💛
Wilhelmina is beautiful and so lucky she’s been looked after by such fabulous people as Eve and Dan 👏🏻. Very glad you were able to identify the cause of her problem and she can be treated and recover to start living the full and healthy life she deserves 🐈⬛🧡
How cute is mango sitting in that seat with a seatbelt on looks like a little kid lol ❤
I came here to say this, never seen a dog wearing a seatbelt this way before! 😅
Maine Coon cats are gorgeous. Love their faces😺
I think she's a Neberlung breed, not Main coon.
My cat was diagnosed with IBD 3 years ago. He is on a combination of daily steroid and a food stimulant every 3 days due to associated cat anorexia. He has done well & at 17 doing amazing.
I'm happy your dear kitty is doing well. Would you mind letting me know the name of the medication he is taking?😻
What a sweet temperament she has. Beautiful cat.
How amazing to live in a day where we have vet care and treatments to help our fur babies! YAY Wilhelmina!!!!
❤💕❤……thank you..
Big applause for these 'parents'.
She's so lucky to have such good foster parents.
Scott you should adopt Wilhelmina, she would have a lovely home with you and she clearly likes you a lot!
YAY, so happy and relieved for Wilhelmina and her family! Thank you for always being there for poorly pets 🤗
I love the way he explains the diagnosis with such care.
I appreciate how you care for animals and the way you interact with their parents.
I had the same issue when our cat, Pádraig McFurland (aka: Paddy) adopted us by showing up on our door. He was skin & bones and someone had removed his claws (luckily they grew back) and he stunk like death. The vet instructed me to avoid wet food while he was healing and feed him the prescribed cat food along with probiotics and antibiotics since had blood in his stool. He quickly healed into this beautiful black cuddle-muffin.
What a sweet girl, as a human with IBD you can tell your practiser how you feel. So poor little Wilhelmina must have been in so much pain. What a beautiful couple to care for her so well. And so beautiful that you care and love all your patients. Thank you.
Do you have it Jen? I do..
Our old boy rescue came to us with a moderately better gut... He turned out to have a chronic Salmonella infection, no idea how long he had been suffering it 😢 after courses of antibiotics, and then some steroids after to chase away the lingering inflammation so he could heal, he's finally doing much better.
Thank you to the fosters for being so patient and caring. ❤
Awww what great outcome and Willimenia is so beautiful - she looks so much better at the end. She will be magnificent when she is fully recovered
What sweet, beautiful cat!
Awwww, bless her heart. I know that smell. We just lost our feline baby of 19 years old to both cancer and IBS. 😢❤
Thankful for good people who are willing to step up to help these unfortunate animals. That they smell really bad turns off a lot of people but a true compassionate animal lover will do anything to help. Thank you so much for Wilheminas sake.
Bath? Sweet looking girl. Will look so much better with a healthy coat when her system is ticking over as it should.
Scott has to be the kindest & most down to Earth vet on TH-cam 😊
Such wonderful carers. Would love to see her in a few months.
A longer foster in this situation is very smart. Having adopted a kitty with IBD…and successfully resolved the problem…stress can be a strong contributor to runny poo with this disease.
I have a cat that showed up on my doorstep. That looks a lot like her. Except her hair is short on her head and neck. Her hair on her hind end and belly are curly, and she had amber eyes. However, they are turning green. She also has a longer snout. She doesn't like her water near her food, we have 3 bowls of water throughout the house. She walks like a runway model. Her name, therefore, is Ms. Priss. The sad news is she became pregnant before we could have her fixed. My mom, who lives with me, was diagnosed with Vascular Dementia as well as a lot of other deadly health conditions. She was in the hospital a couple of times, and during that time, she became pregnant. I believe it's a possibility that she is a Nebelung. However, I'm not positive. Ms Priss likes a bath. When she wants a bath she will go into the bathroom and walk around inside the shower and becomes very vocal. She just sits there while you wash her. However, her response to the blow dryer is definitely not positive!
What an angel Wilhelmina is and so beautiful. So glad she was rescued by caring people and received the treatment she needed. Wishing her a beautiful life in her forever home, wherever it may be. 👏🥰🤗🐾🐈⬛️
So happy for your new clinic, your own show and your own pup. 😉
I feel Wilhelmina's pain. I have Crohn's Disease. Bowel issues are horrible for human and cat. I wosh there was a cure. So glad that everything worked out for her and her condition is being managed!
Wonderful people t foster this gorgeous but sick cat. I am so happy she will have a forever home❤❤❤
Magnífico veterinario y maravillosos humanos que le han dado tratamiento y un hogar ❤
I love how you include us in your surgery. And educate along the way. Your show is unique and really special. I’m so glad you’ve gone out on your own with your special people. Your heart is huge Scott. AND your new office is fabulous!!!!!!!
It's so nice to see her happy at the end.
Bravo ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Lovely story. Good outcome. Thank you Scott and family for caring and rescuing this beautiful cat.
She's a precious little kitty. I would love to see an update on how she looks several months from now.🥰😻🤗Can someone please tell me the name of the medicine Dr. Scott prescribed for this kitty? My kitty Zarrah Rose was diagnosed with IBD and her doctor prescribed Cerenia and it's very expensive.
It was a steroid. Cerenia is for vomiting and nausea. If you're sure your cat has IBD I would ask your vet about treating with a steroid instead, or if they are unhelpful - I would look for a 2nd opinion from a different vet
@@Joolzratbag Thank you! I had my Zarrah Rose back to see the vet on Friday because she was sick and vomiting again and I saw a different vet this time (they have several vets who work there) and looking over her chart Dr. Katie prescribed Prednisolone for her. They gave her fluids and an injection of Cerenia to calm her vomiting and I was to start the Prednisolone that evening. Saturday she was feeling better (and I gave her the Prednisolone again). Today (Sunday) she is feeling really well and playing and eating again. I'm so relieved! Thank you for responding, it always helps to get another opinion. Have a wonderful day! 🥰😻🐾💕
Wilhelmina is going to be an outstanding beauty as she is on the way to recovery now❤ When you see your sickly pet starts feeling better, looking healthy and happy, the joy is overwhelming! Really happy for the kitty and her family!
Poor kitty . I have IBD and it sucks . Praying for her .
We rescued 2 different cats with IBD. They were each long time residents of different rescues. Both settled in very well and we mostly removed the issues with special food and medicine. Charlie didn't like to use the litter box for stools but we actually put down puppy pads and he used them. No big deal, just picked up the used pad and replace it. No odor issues and a small price to pay to make him a happy and content kitty.
Oh what a beautiful story so heartbreaking & heartwarming ❤ lovely foster people I hope that she can stay with them. She looked so much happier & brighter in the video at the end I’m sure she will grow that stunning coat back & fill out in all the right places ❤
Wilemina is so beautifull thank you for taking care of her and treating her. She looks better and happy now❤❤❤❤❤❤
What a good couple - so kind and empathic!!!
Such a calm, cooperative girl! It's heartening to see a remarkable result for this sweetheart! ❤
You are simply the best. Thank you for all that you do for the animals and their humans. Keep up with the good work. ❤
Beautiful cat with a very tolerant nature S she didn't make sound while being poked and prodded and no defensive scratching. Amazing- well done Scott, Dan and Eve in supporting this wonderful cat.
Dr Scott, I love your channel and watch all your videos! You are an amazing, kind and truthful veterinarian 😊👍👏❤💃🏽🐕🐈
Such a sweet cat. Great work scott. What a lovely compassionate couple. Sending love to you and mango. ❤
Fantastic vet.
Not gonna lie…… I miss Gemma!!!!! She was the sweetest!!!❤ so happy for you Dr.Scott still doing what you love! And I still cannot believe how big Quinn has gotten.
It's crazy because my cat loves bathes, I just make sure the water is warm and he's good. I had a cat as a teenager that was FIV positive but he lived to 18 years old. He had started as a stray that was the biggest sweetheart but turned into such a God send for me and my mom.
My sweet Maine Coon ginger boy Pip passed away due to complications from IBD. He was only 22 months old. I hope this sweet kitty has a long kitty cat life.
Scott, I need you to come to Quebec Canada and convince my husband to let me keep the 2 deer and rabbits that constantly come to our house (daily and nightly). 💜💙💖
"keeping" wildlife is not OK. Be grateful they come to visit and feel safe in your garden, but don't deprive them of their birthright as free abd healthy wildlife animals, domesticating them for no reason than your attachment is selfish. In many countries its illegal to take wild animals for pets, for good reason.
@@gnarbeljo8980 I would never actually force any animal to stay. Both the deer and the rabbits do live on our property in the wild and can leave at any time. We live in a very cold region and we leave food out for them and any other animals that need it.
@lynnmorris8578 that's great, I live in Sweden and the deer and birds are happy for food this time of year when everything is frozen. The local city wildlife authorities do in many regions too. Hay and apples that have been discarded bc of bruises are cheap and great feed. My mom when she majes pancakes always makes a bunch to leave for them and they love it! 😁
@@gnarbeljo8980 Aww your mom sounds sweet. People around my area would rather eat them then help them. We have warm areas on our property that help them all out in the sever cold and like I said, we feed them and leave foods for them where we find their tracks. We have an old SUV in our driveway that many wild and lost animals make pit stops for food and warmth.
@lynnmorris8578 wonderful! Yes, deer will always be fair game. Our hunting legislation is very strict, but even I eat deer and moose. We have very few woolves in the wild, it would get out of control if there wasn't a defined hunting season every fall. Traffic accidents would be through the roof as well.
But it's kindof a big deal to get a hunting license and fire arms in Sweden. It involves education on hunting ethics too.
I don't hunt myself, I'd rather enjoy wildlife alive. But I'd rather eat wild meat shot cleanly than alot of the factory farmed animals tbh. At least they get to live a real and healthy life. I'm not a big consumer of meats at all, I find myself hesitant at the store.
If I were in a really warm climate where fruits and veg were fresh, abundant, sustainable, affordable I'd likely be vegetarian.
Willamena, parents and Scott are lucky to have each other. And, of course, lucky she can live a normal life.
So nice to see you back in the clinic, and surgery.
What a beautiful girl and what an incredible couple to have taken her in! ❤
Mango so handsome the way he looks at you so much love.
This was very interesting. I didn't realize cats got IBD much the same way as humans do. I have a mild version, that doesn't give me that much trouble once the initial ulcer healed alot. Except alot of weightgain which is lifechanging indeed, but not like constant pain, or loss of controll of bowel movements. I can onky imagine what this girl has been through on her own. Wonderful care you gave her, and her fosters do.
I hope they keep her, and she does great and has a happy future. 🙏❤️
The best vet in Europe! 👍🏻💪🏻🥰
Definately a big thumbs up to everyone!! As a sufferer of Crohns (IBD) myself I can tell you that cat will be in more than "a bit of discomfort!!"...before I was diagnosed and unsuccessfully treated for 12 months I went to hell and back and it was one of the most painful conditions I have ever experienced....and I've had several. Poor Wilhelmina 'just has IBD'...my heart goes out to her and thanks to her foster parents for rescuing her.. and I am glad the treatment is cheaper than mine.. luckily I am a pensioner so only pay a few dollars but if I wasn't on subsidised meds I would be paying thousands.. AUD $$. Also glad Wilhelmina only has to have steroids.. and yes she will stack on the weight.. seems vets are more tolerant of that than GP's.. really nothing you can do about it either but steroids do work a treat. I wish I had gone to Dr Scott instead of all the doctors I saw before being diagnosed.. he did it so competently.. Thanks Dr Scott...hey are you turning into a redhead or is that your natural colour.. I thought you were blonde.. cheers from Western Australia
You seem so much happier in the new practise
When I got my cat twenty years ago she had tritrichominas foetus, a horrible digestive disease with severe diarrhea. Within a short time of her diagnosis they came up with a medication for it. I had her for nineteen wonderful years. I sure miss her. ❤️❤️❤️
Ya, Willimena so happy you’re feeling better
What a beautiful kitty and such a happy ending 💖
Kudos to the foster couple!
So happy for her future, Thanks to a good family and good vet ❤, She looks so content .
Scott, thank you for all of your care for these sweet furbabies. You are AMAZING
Very beautiful face and calm cat ❤❤ it
Shes Beautiful!! And so glad she has her forever home!!❤❤
Oh my goodness, she is beautiful and wise looking. Praying for complete healing. 🙏
I love the way your precious mate dog loves listening to you talk and going to work with dad he is lucky to have you come into his life💙🩵💛🧡
Hi Dr. Scott and team. So happy for Wilhelmina and her Foster parents that she has a manageable condition and is now doing better.
Merci pour votre compassion , pour les soins attentifs apportes a tous ces animaux , comme j aurais aimé avoir un veterinaire comme vous quand j avais mon chien . Merci pour eux de France
KEEP HER
Thank you for your kindness Scott. I wish everyone had your heart. She was beautiful. I’m glad she’s in recovery ❤️🩹.
Awww Wilhelmina is so beautiful, I’m so happy her end result was a simple one. She may have the condition for life, but now she has a life. Hopefully they will foster fail 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
This is exactly what my kitten goes through 😢 I love her so so so much & I’be finally been able to save up enough money for a vet!! I really hope that my vet help her out!!! Thank you so much for this very timely video!!! Wow!!
Good luck!
❤❤❤❤ a happy ending for her she's so adorable
She's a special Neberlung breed cat. They are typically very shy and sweet, extremely loyal, and usually only bond with one person. They can be quite pricey to buy.
Absolutely love you Dr Scott, you are amazing Thank you. 💙🩵💙🩵💙🩵
Loved this video. So interesting and informative and all such wonderful people doing their bit and best where others haven’t or couldn’t. Yay to fosters and rescue vet and vet nurse!
Adopt her Scott. ❤
What a beautiful well behaved cat bless her so glad it wasn’t more serious. ❤
What a gorgeous girl. So sweet and calm. Her eyes are amazing! ❤❤❤❤
My street dog has IBD, too, and the diagnosis process was very expensive, which means your intervention was a godsend for this cat. I do have to mention that the sound quality on this video was sharp, muffled and unpleasant, so I hope that's something you can address for future videos.
I rescued a cat living on the streets for 6years till I found her, she was 16years had her a year in March and my girl has the same issue she went to a vet and nothing could be sorted for her, so now I have to make sure she goes in the tray - she eats well and drinks and has the zoomies like crazy 🙈 I've tried everything to help but her tummy rejected all meds and treatment so now we just have to be careful xx
Aww love a happy ending to a sad situation 💞 Thank you Dr. Scott for your dedication and kindness to all animals & humans 💞
Such a good girl. She is a very lucky fur baby.❤
Poor Willamina such a beautiful girl.❤
Great work Scott and the wonderful Eve and Dan for caring for beautiful Wilhelmina 👏🏻👏🏻. So glad it’s IBS and not anything worse and she’s now making a good recovery 🐈⬛👨⚕️❤️
Wow he really gowns up well... And on Rocky Mountain Vet, there's almost no PPE.
She's adorable
Great news!!!! 🎉
She's beautiful kitty. Bless the couple helping her thrive.
And how is it all possible???
The one and only Dr. Scott!! ❤
Wilhemina is lovely and in such good hands here!
So happy to see you have new content 😊❤️ and Wilhelmina is absolutely gorgeous 😍
