I had a MK3 Golf Gti for many years, also an Audi A4, and have spoken to "Crasher" on the forums many times. He is an absolute legend and very knowledgeable guy. What he doesn't know about VW group cars is not worth bothering with.
our only problem is we cut out alot of the process and show the edited video and it makes it look like we fixed the fault in 10 minutes.we have had customers ask why we charged 5 hours😂😂
I've got a BMW E46 (2002), also with a burned out earth in the LH tail light cluster that had had a pretty poor bodge repair (earth wire cut from the plug, another piece of wire joined to it with a badly crimped butt splice, with a female spade connector that had been prised open to shove it on a tab on the cluster, and *badly* soldered on, so badly that the solder more or less fell off). Oddly enough, the tail light on the other side is OK.
These videos are just fascinating. 😊. Who would’ve thought an earth fault on a rear light cluster would take out front headlights, horn and windscreen wipers. It’s crazy.😮
Your mini battery ? On Air Traffic radio equipment, we had a series of problems which appeared to be low battery but Bakeries checked 13 volts on multimeter. Problem was they would not deliver sufficient power, under load. Surmised high internal resistance. The us Army changed supplier and we did not see that fault again.
I’m know a family that used to have their own battery factory, very interesting talking to him. he used to make a battery to send up in a weather balloon that had 3 different voltages, that was for the MOD if I remember correctly
That mini with the battery is a funny one. Cars nowadays can be a right pain in the ***. And as for mechanic-mindset, the price is value for money, and when I need the answer to a question the privet group on the site is very helpful because you mostly only have people that know or are in the game so no fluff. 100% recommend it myself.
nice those parasitic draws can be a real pain . like you say got to be methodical in your approach and just keep working back 👍 now i have seen that light issue on a few different makes burnt out pins causing very odd faults 👍

@@rmsdiagnostics OK. He's definitely one of the good guys. The world's full of people who will only help people for money.
Excellent diags , great job guys. Love watching your diags 🥕🥕
Glad you like them!
It's great to seal a "real" workshop environment, showing genuine faults and letting customers see what is involved in a "simple" fault. 👍

Love yours and Barney's videos. Love showing these in our workshop.
who do you show them to?? 🫡🫡
@rmsdiagnostics I show our techs and ask them to detail their findings like you do.
fair play mate, I might pop in when I’m on one of our road trips, where are you based👌
@rmsdiagnostics I'm in Kent
we are in sandwich Kent👌
Thanks for the support Bob & Barney! Keep up the great work and diag 👌

we solder directly onto the board if needed, and add a removable connection inline
Another brilliant video gents, be proud of your efforts, you guys are raising the standards in the industry 💪🏾
Much appreciated! but we are here for a bit of entertainment if it inspires others that’s a bonus 🫡🫡
@rmsdiagnostics that's the best way to be. Having a healthy work - life balance is key. Keep on trucking forward
Fantastic work and video as always, one of the best diagnostic channels to watch on you tube at the moment. Keep up the amazing work guys.
well thank you buddy,

I’ve got one of those irons. Fast heat up but heavy on the battery drain
they are good
seems like "limp mode" causes more bleeding trouble than it solves ...Good catch 👍
glad we found it,it’s the second time we have had it in
Nice one Bob it's really cold
It sure is pal

Great information, vw fault is a great bit of knowledge for the future 👍🏻 👏🏿
It sure is!

Great video 👍🏼
Glad you enjoyed
brilliant as usual..
thank you, don’t forget to check out the give away, completely free
Another great vid guys 👏
Glad you enjoyed it
What causes the earth pin to burn out ...
having a shared earth terminal is the issue, it can’t handle the load is multiple bulbs
Awesome 👍
Thanks 🤗
Shared knowledge 🤩
we are all learning
Lesson learned... Walk around the car and look for everything that isn't working.
problem is the fault only happens when the rear light goes out,the light was on most of the time so was hard to replicate
Classic defective tracker battery drain. Seen that so many times, those batteries only last 10 years or so.
we have had one car with three trackers fitted😀
I thought you just plugged the computer in and changed the parts? ;)
but when they doesn’t work we have to try somthing else😂😂 don’t forget to sign up for the give away it’s worth having
