Vintage Bootleg Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Action Figures - Which are the best/worst knockoffs?

That Was Rad explores the weird world of vintage bootleg Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles action figures and contemplates which knockoffs are the least terrible and most good!
In this episode, we look at retro Turtles Fighters, Super Ninjas and some fairly convincing TMNT knock-offs with questionable packaging and quality (these toys probably aren't safe for kids!). But, for the nostalgic grown-up, bootleg toys are an appreciated toy art form and are collectables in their own right.
Fake toys, such as these Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles wannabes, and other counterfeit action figures might not meet child safety standards but they look rad displayed alongside any original, genuine Playmates 80s or 90s TMHT action figure collection and are always fun to compare.

I had a lot of bootleg stuff I picked up in spain and places like that, I had a ton. It's special at least!
I'm not entirely sure if they were meant to be power rangers, but I bought a set that looked like them, they were metal rather than plastic too, I loved shit like that because I could have them fight along side the actual versions of the characters :P
I had a trenchcoat TMNT I decided to edit a little (well, use a marker over the bandana to make it black rather than purple or w/e) so he could be a new guy lol. I'm still thinking about buying the classic movie turtle figures because damn they look awesome.

Always interesting to see these knockoffs. Shocked the companies never took legal action but I guess it's all grey area there.

Thanks for watching! I think most of the companies that made them are pretty hard to track down. There's absolutely no clues on the packaging.

First off- is that some music from Sonic 3 that I hear in the background?? Shout out to that!👍👍 We had the Turtles Fighters at home, my brother got them at Christmas 1990. I was in Seventh Heaven that year, with my new Commodore 64! Really liked this video. Great fun seeing bootleg action figures blasting from the past like this. 👍👍
