Innovation hitting us with that Twitch Grandmaster strat of loading the enemy up with so much cancer, by the time it gets diagnosed they're already terminal.
^ The perfect summery, sensory overload :D
It was fun to watch...
Innovation thought he was playing nuke the whales then realized it was a tournament and just went with it.
12 minutes in and Serral is 1 up in a BO3.
You know something goes very wrong when there's still 90 minutes of video left :D
*something goes very right
I thought the second game was long, then I realized the video is only half way over
1:28:48 Brenda! I just thought we creeped this location! But we’re gonna creep it again?!
Did you see something? No.. must’ve been a ghost.
I love winter’s commentary!
He needs a sitcom musical sting and laugh track button for those Brenda moments.
*Serral beats Innovation, someone who is out of the game anyways in 12 minutes*
Innovation: I see how it is... Kicking a man on the ground...
*Innovation dusts his coat off and proceeds to torture Serral with 40 minute games, slowly, steadily grinding him down with nukes*
so true
Top ten emotional anime comebacks
In fact, 78 nuclear missiles were made in the second match. This is a real world record.
Maru: Hold my fucking beer
Maru vs Scarlett match
Innovation is the reason we have Nuka Cola in Fallout.
I must say: u are the most entertaining caster to watch when you look at lowko, wardi etc. There is so much soul in the casting! thanks for the rerun of a serie I have already watch, just that this time it was even better with you casting!
Q: Whats it take to beat Serral? A: NUCLEAR ARMAGEDDON
Just saying this is the first time serral lose in 12 months in an offline tournament.
Ipv6 Which means this lost nearly means nothing lol
Seeing Innovation dismantle Serral so methodically with such an extremely sophisticated army comp makes me wonder if anyone else is going to pick this kind of army comp up. I'd love to see Maru do this and even Gumiho make some kind of battlemech spin on it.
who is gumiho? I've only really heard of old-school players since that's when I followed sc2.
gumiho is innovation but with cyclones and hellions

If I don’t count out more than 100 Nukes, I’m calling out clickbait
Oh wow...
It has 100+ NUKES in the title.
I clicked as soon as I read Serral (Zerg) vs Innovation (Terran). Really doesn't need more clickbait than that.
Kalenz its looking like a lot of nukes already. This is more promising than I have ever dreamed
@@WolfGangDealers This was the prequel for the fallout games.
It's 78 in game 2 only
AH WILL ROOL THIS SECTUH OR SEE IT BURNT TO ASHES ROUND ME
Lmao Mengsk
Holy crap! What is this, the starcraft version of an Exterminatus?
Best comment yet.
@@omgopet lol
tfw this is so exhausting to watch
we are not even the player.
look at winter trying to stay awake
I think the "solution" to this is exactly what Winter suggests halfway through - a Nydus to lead back to the base that kept getting sniped. It's not the nukes nor the ghosts that delivered the victory. They just bought time. Enough time for Innovation to completely mine out the base on one side, while denying the base on the other. Once the base was mined out, he would move in to mine the base he previously sniped, therefore being the only one with an active base at the end of the game. If Serral could block the snipe, they'd be on equal grounds at the end, and then Serral could take it.
I think a Nydus would help but the problem is the nukes are such potentially devastating attacks and they come so frequently that you have no other option but to focus on dealing with them. Nukes into high priority areas can generally be stopped but you need to have very quick decision making, the right units, and micro to do it and more importantly it demands the most valuable recourse of them all which is the time and attention of the defending player. Whenever innovation pushed on a base with his bio hit squad he always did it under the cover of one or more nukes and the main army threatening elsewhere. The Nydus helps get your units there in time but then you still have the problem of having your attention divided on way too many fronts to micro them while also needing to micro intensely to kill the nuking ghosts and keep the main army from advancing on the other side of the map at the same time.
The Nydus is a good idea but I'm not sure it would have reversed the tide.
@@kirbyjoe7484 The nukes don't actually do that much damage. They are devastating against units, yes, but you still need several to take out a building. Moving the workers off the mineral line doesn't require that much micro, especially if you know the nukes keep landing in the same spot. And even if you wait for the nuke to drop before moving your attention, with a Nydus, you can still catch that bio army before it manages to complete retreat, at least causing it some losses.
Interestingly, the idea of stalemate for the 6th base was previously done with the races reversed, a year ago, in Maru vs Dark. Nukes or not, just standing over that 6th base location is all that's needed.
its a no win situation when you think about it, the reason he went with broodlords in the first place was because, heavy mech isnt easy to counter without them, he needed good air units, and with the amount of bio+ vikings, mutas would be easy pickings.
he could maybe go roaches, and then ravagers, but even then, it would still be too risky.
the reason this strategy worked so well, was due to how well it was timed, multiple nukes at the same time as attacks to bases here and there. the irony is, thoses nukes were a distraction, that could potentially kill your entire army if you didnt deal with it. so you cant really half ass it and risk.
Ino just went all out, and i dont think changing unit composition would make much diference in either map.
"That SCV: Very angry." A+ commentary m8 had my lolling the whole time.
To answer your question, Winter: you are possibly the only foreign caster that pronunces "Katowice" right. Cheers from Poland.
pretty sure that lowko and zombiegrub get that right too
@@NitroPulsar Well they are european
@@dog209 technycally anyone not from poland is a foreign, and judging by his username he's from poland as well, thus he's referring to anyone not from poland, and since lowko is from the nederlands and zombiegrub is canadian, yes, they are both foreign
I cringe so much when they say "Katoviche".
When a Bo3 lasts more than the Bo7 finals XD
Not only did Serral Neural parasite that ghost at 35:26 , He EMP'd THE OTHERS NEXT TO THE Planetary XD
May this game inspire TEEERRAAAANN!! for centuries to come!.. Just grinding forward!
mhm, Terran still fighting space bugs in 2019. in the meantime, we all know who the true masters are.
56:06 - "There are more nukes than zerglings"
I think this sums up the game pretty well
THE USE OF NUCLEAR WEAPONS IS AUTHORIZED
Mission Objective: Torture the World Champion.
Mission Accomplished. (Navy Homeland.gif)
Everyone simply bowed down in that group to Serral, claiming that he's a god. That he's unbeatable.
Then Innovation, an already beaten man, lost a game to him in a way he felt was getting dirt kicked on his pride.
So he showed everyone that the World Champion can be made to bleed. That the emotionless Serral can be exhausted and tortured. He showed the world that Serral is no god.
@@OzixiThrill Well put. This cancerous Nuke meta is spreading though as Maru has recently used it against the foreigners as well.
This is why I watch SC2 and don't play. Too much stress.
lol
Innovation be like: Why scan for creep tumors when you can nuke them?
Council of Terrans decide what to do:
Leader: there is an overwhelming Zerg force out there we can’t figure out how to beat it any ideas?
Guy 1: we could build some thors
Guy2: how about bcs?
Guy 3: nuke em
Everyone: what?
Guy 3: nuke em
Everyone: yeah ok sure
How do pros find that red dot so easily? I could never find it when I hear nuclear launch detected.
If u hit space wheb you hear the alarm it focuses on it
@@Puhnu what seriously?? Are u sure of it?
They chase laser lights for training.
I think usally they just predict where the nuce will be, and ofcourse the experience
@@Puhnu If space focuses on the nuke, then why does Serral have to scan all his bases every time a nuke goes down? He showed us Serral's PoV.
What did I just watch?Terran Choke hold? InnovatioN Nukem 3D.
This was hard to watch, exhausting even.
I feel like while we're discussing the weakpoint, the nukes were generally treated as an open air threat. "I have nukes. I have one, here, one here, one here. You have to be paying attention because..." And the because is that the late game army that Serral decided upon was very immobile. Your Broodlords are the meat of the army, and it doesn't move very fast. So he'd get nuked in a couple of places, usually right in the face of the broodlords, and be faced with the question. "Do you move up, or back off and cede the creep here?" And the obvious answer is normally back off, but it is a question what needs attention to answer. While he is taking the time those broodlords need to answer that question, the bio says "Okay, well while you're doing that, hows the side entrance here lookin'?" I feel like maybe squeezing some ultras or some throwaway roaches in would have helped the response time issue that Serral faced in the two pronged question posed by those nukes.
this is probably terran at its most opressive. its not economic viable to nuke everywhere, but at the same time, those nukes are both, mentaly draining, and, more importantly, disorientating, its a very real pause button on anything you are doing, because if you dont find and deal with it, you will lose alot.
in the meanwhile, the terran will proceed to move up, and take spots for themselves.
its a very hard thing to pull off, but when it does, there's no real answer against it.
oh god playing against nuke spam is such complete cancer. you're a second late to find the red dot and suddenly all your workers are dead. it's amazing how serral hung on for so long.
Last day I was playing a hard match and suddenly Innovation came to my mind and told me to nuke them.
I wish this game was split into 3 videos, only because i want to like this video more. Absolutely amazing game, and even better caster. Keep up the good casting!
the only buff terran bio needs is for nukes to clear creep instantly and reduce their price to that of nydus worm :D
so that 59, is that how many are launched or how many land?? Also it is great to see nukes used. it almost never happens.
Both nuke games were far more enjoyable than anything in the grand finale. Maybe this is just what team has to do to beat zerg in current state of game
Terran*
TvZ has at least been watchable...TvP not so much since it seems Mech(mainly thor/BC with hellion run byes?) is the direction you're supposed to take it for late game in blizz logic but all of mech's early game units range from mediocre to terrible to most of the protoss openers *and* midgame. Which means you're not really just doing a smaller tech switch but a full blown production and upgrade switch from early bio and you don't get chrono to help you accelerate said build switch when you don't have the full set of production facilities online because you were spending monies doing stuff in the game. These reasons are the same reason battlecruiser rush fell out of favor so fast competitively. Old cyclones helped relieve this problem simply by being a viable combat unit that didn't die to a sneeze(a round of chargelots) before they got hit for their part in the cheese factory.
I love watching high nuke games.
2nd game shows what Terran should be doing(also BCs are great)
I need to get myself checked... I think I'm irradiated from all those bombs :-D Those maps will not be available for play for a long long time with all the radiation... Glad zerg didn't mutate into something different from all of it :-)
5:10 what was that . Whats the name of that teleportation
Brenda! I just thought we upvoted this location! But we’re gonna upvote it again?!
I'd buy you a beer anytime buddy. Good shit. Keep on keeping on.
Feels kind of like Innovation was giving Serral practice at locating and dealing with nukes.
Are hellions not useful in mid-game?
So what I learned from this series is. No matter how good you are... do not let innovation get into the late game.
and so Blizzard entertainment created NPM
Like how when Winter thinks of Aquatic creatures his mind goes straight to crabs.
im a raver
Serral was wounded here only to be slain by soo a few rounds later
you cant really blame him, if anything, its a miracle that he was even able to win after those maps.
I am from Poland i i have been watching this channel for quite a while and i cant help but laugh every time i hear him say Katowice
? he pronounces it pretty well. Nothing to laugh at.
hey winter, that was hell of a game. Do you thing there is a balance issue, especially after this game? Innovation make serral look like hopeless. Or is it about just performance? Whats your opinion?
I don't always make balance decisions, but when I do, I base it off of fringe games by completely exhausted super-pro players operating at 1000 APM with almost nothing on the line.
How is the terrans unites white and red ?
what is inno's tank skin?
New TvZ meta? Cleanse the Zerg inch by inch in nuclear fire?
i hope it becomes meta so i can enjoy pro games like this aids more often!
That game was so epic I had to like and subscribe. I want you to know that you are my first subscription ever and probably the last, as I have been dodging it for years. Keep up the great commentary, and stunning game coverage. I hope they hire you to commentate at the tournaments one day. -Dougie Blitzen- (Just another Terran from the Trenches)
fuck, he persistently nuked the zergs gas income.... sweet attrition warfare.
The fact that you keep a red card on your desk has me lmao
Those were outstanding to watch!
Tbh this was a bio win. Ghosts/libs to just hold the front lines while bio went in and killed all Serral's bases repeatedly lol
pro idea here: Get a nuke counter. Every nuke that lands, click that shit
When bronnnnnnnnnncceeeee liiiiiiiiiiiiguueeeeeeeeeee heeeeeeeeroeeeeeess!!!!!?????? WinterSc?
Bazooka Joe woah you showed him
"We're gonna count the nukes"
Stops at 2
So... how many nukes was it???
But seriously, what is the counter against this? What was Serral supposed to do?
WHAT THE!?!?!?!? I was watching enjoying the match and all the nukes when suddenly I get this ad for ballsack deodorant...
Take a hint
That was some sick games!! GG!
People always make fun of innovation because of lack of what his name says but people over look what his name truly says it's INVation, sharp timing of attacks!! He will pound you by the attacks that you have known for years and yet he will be able pull it off just right.
That ghostbusters joke tho.. xD
Enough nukes in this game that I'm worried that the Starcraft universe will get nuclear winter...
Those last 2 games hurt me. The nukes were straight-up abusive. Ghosts are fucking ridiculously strong. They counter everything except lings and they're not even fragile. WTF.
That said, it drives me nuts that Serral never attacked the Terran side bases and didn't keep a couple overseers and some lings on his own side bases to defend against nuking ghosts.
And no use of Nydus for defensive logistics. One other thing that boggles my mind is the sending huge clumps of banes into tank fire. A few seconds of splitting would make so much difference!
Regardless, that's just a brutally punishing playstyle. Nukes are terrorism.
finally after seeing scarlet and her being nuked and now serral zergs being taken down
Serral tries to YuGIOH his opponent, but Innovation calls Exterminatus
Serral is just so good, it just seems like it seems impossible to win in timing push against him if you didn't take him by complete surprise.
Whats with ByuN? Is he retired?
Millitary
@@jjandre7032 thank you
Serral had a plan, but no strategy. This was hard to watch after a while. I was typing GG for 20 minutes for Serral the last 2 rounds
Winter, at the end of the match when they say GG, use some voice announcer pack like Pro gameplay ESL do.. It's so cool!
I don't think he responded correctly. Wouldn't ling/bane and roach/ravager be a better way to counter him?
Dont slime me bro. Why does that line still make me laugh lol
Holy Kung Fu Jesus!! 1000+ apm -- Innovation
Only innovation can finish a game of StarCraft with a npm over 2 while still maintaining full macro, micro and keeping on top of nidus gaming.
Lol so many ghosts you could say it was haunted
When are you going to cast an event? Tbh some of the caster are snoozers like wardi or that girl
1:35.50 was about to feel so satisfying.
Zerg - check out my nydus i can show up anywhere, Terran - Nuke everywhere ~,~
49:56 Hahaha!!! This made my day :)
I'd like the Terran to attack the early 3 Hatchery and keep Reaper and Hellions alive to live and fight again instead of the throwaway.
1:05:05 oh shit Brenda, run
Donald Trump made no deal with Kim Jong Un on denuclearization in North Korea
Innovation: Hmmmmmm.....
I very frustratingly fought against this strategy as zerg in ranked before, and seeing serral himself being unable to handle it makes me feel better about being unable to handle it lol. It feels really imba to fight against, and i'm not sure how to deal with it. Everyone just says quit crying, git gud, put hydras at each base with overseers, but idk. I think making nukes cost supply again would make it better.
Or makes nukes more expensive, add longer delay before the nuke falls. But if you nerf nukes, you need to buff terran late game. Terran cant win a big engagement vs zerg late game. Therefore they need to win a war of attrition. which imo fits the terran character.
If you want to nerf nukes, then what do you offer terrans in return so they don't just lose against zerg endgame armies by default?
insane execution from InnoVatioN
+rep
Serral you got A-bomb-terminated :D
Mass ghost, unbeatable against zerg
Ghost has speed, snipe, extra damage v light, high range, cloak, EMP, nukes
Zerg has the G key
banes
I love how Winter shakes his head when he makes that cringy joke about dropping out of the game instead of the medivacs.. LUL
*you have been blocked by japan*
King coves le aint livable anymore
That Is same like Maru vs Dark :D but with out nukes
Why did serral build broods again and then just sit there and do nothing with them in just a repeat of the previous match? So very indecisive it would seem.
because thats the correct answer to ghosts / libs/ bio. What else he can do ? Ultra's ? lol good luck they wount even get the chance to hit the ghosts before they are roasted or sniped.
@@user-fi5ly8me9j Hmm, sure. But he didn't do anything with them. I understand the risk of losing them but when he just got pushed back and back over 2 separate games you'd think he would change his approach
@@littletyke76 Well this is why starcraft 2 is the best e-sport ever , do you have any idea how hard is it to do what innovation did ? For me its impossible and inhuman , to much actions required for a long time.Serral was just waiting for innovation to make a mistake , innovation was waiting for it too. Both of the times serral made the mistake exposing his infestors to EMP.That and the bio push from sides made him loose the games.Simple mistakes that over time add up. In your normal ladder games you wount have that problem ever , both armies are good and they counter each other , it comes down to who can land better spell casts . IMO the zerg army is stronger because its easier to control.
@@user-fi5ly8me9j yeh I watch alot of starcraft. It just seems he passive'd his way to death without trying to actually win. I'm not knocking inno here, he played it spectacularly well. But with the control serral has over this game it seemed to me that he was too busy focusing on wrong things. And again, it's not the issue of losing, it happens, its losing in the exact same way twice without trying anything different. That's what baffles me. I suppose that's the easy thing to look at when you have an overview rather than the players limited view.
@@littletyke76 Well tbh i thought the same as you , why would he loose twice on the same stategy. I think the reason is he knows that this match doesn't matter , he knows that winning or loosing has no value so he wanted to see if he could somehow win that same scenario he ended up in game 2.He intentionally gave innovation the time to prepare for the same build.IMO if that match was a important for serral in game 3 he would never allow innovation to get to ghosts , he would had cheesed him early or pressed the attack much sooner.
Map is dark and full of terran (ghost) :D :D :D
They must have finally nerfed Zerg & gave Terran a tiny buff. Only way I can explain a Terran beating Zerg in the late game.
The creators did a poor job creating the nuke and ultralisk. My thoughts are they created it to be more successful on a game where there isn’t a 200 supply count. To me they need to change it to suit matches like this. It’s just too easy to evade and so easy to get rid of the infantry unit. I think the best way would have been to take 14 of them and drop them into the base but I think they removed the drop ship? It’s been a long time. Draw the army out to you and than use the drop shop into their main so the main army rushes back. Either it will fail to make it or if they do make it back you take out both the base and part of their army.
sorry but its not like that, make it too hard to deal, and nukes become a press to win button, finding nukes is nowhere near as easy as those guys make it look like, its just that, at that level, they will notice EVERYTHING. they can find an invisible unit, in a milisecond, while jumping through cameras.
dont think that because you can see that giant marker on the map, that the person getting nuked can as well. they get a tiny dot that they need to:
find the general area where it's gonna drop
find the spot where its gonna drop.
and decide how to stop it.
and they have less than 15 seconds to do all that.
Broodlords are so scary
"deep in the paint"😁😁😁
why does he sound autotuned?
