  • The DJI Mini is one of the most amazing little pieces of tech I have purchased in a long time. It amazes me the things that it can do for such an inexpensive drone. However, sometimes it would be nice to have audio dialogue synched to the video.
In this video, I'll tell you how I record my sound and synch it in post.
First I launch the FLY app and turn on the drone until I get my HomePoint update. Then I start the screen recording on my phone making sure to hold down the screen record button until I see the option to use external Phone Mic. Once that is done, I take my flight and stop the screen recording.
In post editing, I bring in the two video clips. The one from the drone and the one from the phone. I then overlay both videos in my time line and synch them together.
Some programs you can separate the audio from the video track of the phone because basically, that's all you need.
If you have any questions or want to see a video of me synching two videos in Davinci Resolve or Movavi, drop me a comment.

That’s a great idea. Yes the sound changes with the AirPods as you said but can be edited in post production if the creator prefers that. I can think up quite a few reasons why that added feature would be a great addition to the aerial footage. Great job!👍🏻

I did not know that my phone had that feature. I am going to try it once it stops raining
