Great vid Trev. Was almost up on yes tor that same day/evening except I felt guilty about always taking people to same place! We were over on steeperton. It was very windy. Had to tuck in by the cabin.
Yea I know what you mean. I just love the North Moor though, when I've been away from the moor I always feel I have to return to this area to set off. And steeperton does get proper windy
Very familar looking morning weather there on Dartmoor. Sometimes the mist clears and in your case it looks like it was sticking around. Great video as per always Trev.
We didn't have it too bad for out walk, but mist settled over night. Made a turn for the worst once we was leaving though, a really wet day so we done well to miss the worst. A good old time though. Thanks for watching!
@@SummitOrNothing when you wake up to a couple of ponies wandering around in the mist it's pretty surreal. Looks like a great camp you all had anyway. Finding 3 flat spots to camp near a Tor can sometimes be tricky. Nice to see you all out on a camp though. My mate and I are looking to go in September provided the winds and rain aren't too bad.
I have a Colombia waterproof, can't remember the model because I bought if about 7 years ago, its brilliant performance but I forget the zip is on the other side.
Enjoy this Trev. Got to ask, how did you come across We Will Be by Puddle of Infinity for an audio selection? Really moving simple piece. Cheers, Simon.
Good to hear the SoN roar again, it has been quite a while indeed. A bit on the nippy side considering it's July but I suppose it is what wild camping is all about. 😄👍
Glad the pad stayed inflated, but I'd take a guess that the silver side of it is the warmer side. It looks reflective, in any case. You'd be surprised how more effective having reflective insulation next to your body is (at least, it is in my experience). You might wanna use the other side in warmer weather though. Think I meant to say this the first time I saw you use it.
Yea - youre probably right, I think someone did point that out to me before, but regardess, was comfy, was warm. Will bare it in mind during the winter months though. Cheers for watching!
Blimey trev, you would think it was autumn! Making me jealous, havent been on the moor since last October, need to make a visit to belstone after schools go back, glad mat stayed up for you, hope weather is better for your next camp!
Yea - the weather has been a been a bit ropey - but I think we managed to avoid the worst of it here - and yep, great to get back out on them there moors! Cheers for watching!
Hello SoN fans! I am looking at visiting the UK end of October beginning of November and would like make a climb in Snowdonia Park. Is this a common thing to do so late in the season there? I have the gear and have done winter hiking in the mountains before much in a SoN fashion. Any resources or insights would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
To be honest, Dartmoor can be wild at any time of the year in the UK. The seasons are so disrupted now that it doesnt really matter. Just avoid boggy, wet areas or river crossings after heavy rain, I guess.
Awesome to see you out again.. ive been stuck looking after an elderly family member for almost a year, getting unfit and unhealthy and making daft comments on vids too much...and you capture my old stomping grounds on the north moor so well, ATB u dartmoor legend
Hi Trev. Great vid with some pretty brutal weather for July. I can see how easy it is to get lost when the mist comes down. The guy with the baseball cap sounded like hes from Bristol or somewhere near. That was a good spot when you beeped us in Okehampton the other day. We were down there making a few vids ourselves. We were expecting to bump into you at some point so when we heard a beep i knew it was you. Take care mate. 😊😊
Yep, a fellow Bristol Ian of yours, for sure. The weather has been pretty horrendous, don't think we faired to badly though to be honest. And yea, I could tell it was you a mile off. Would have been rude not to say hi. Hope tou enjoyed your time around Okey.
@@SummitOrNothing Yeah the weather has been pretty bad but we managed to walk to the plane crash site on the slipper stones opposite Blackator copse in the Okement valley which is a walk ive been wanting to do for a while now. 😊😊
@@SummitOrNothing Hi Ttev. It was a great walk but quite difficult. We started from the bike hire place at Sourton aa we didn't want to have to cross the river . We've walked a similar route from Meldon before & it took a long time to find a crossing point for the river. 😊😊
Oh, I have been waiting for this! I don't have anything like Dartmoor around me in my corner of the world and I don't get tired of seeing it. You all look like you had a little bit of a trudge but It looked fun.
I love how the sound of the flexitail really lends itself to the environment 🤣. Looks like you've had some really challenging weather over there lately? Still, nice to be out eh? Atb.
Haha! Yep - but so much easier than that bloody air sack thing that comes with it! Weather has been a bit shit lately, but we seemed to miss the worst for this hike and camp. Enjoyed being under canvas whilst it was raining outside too. Thanks for watching!
Hi Trev, thanks for posting your latest adventure on Dartmoor! Great to see you back in the north moor, you can’t beat that area and I know you love the high moor. Look like Johnny and Matt had a good time. I remember Johnny from last year’s charity walk we did in May. Typical July weather eh😂, and great to hear the ‘SoN’ walla 😊. Keep at it Trev and can’t wait till next time - chase! Cheers Pete 👍
The unforgettable Johnny Waffle lol. Top bloke! Yep - had a good old stomp - the Patreons didnt want it dry and hot anyway.. not what theyre in it for surely lol. Thanks for watching, Pete, and great to hear from you!
Good to see you still making videos :) These chaps were characterful. I wonder if you will gradually find a good new generation co-host? Needs to be available and comedic :D
Yea, they were a good bunch. I think I quite enjoy heading out with different folks, to be honest. Variety is the spice of life, an' all that. Cheers for watching!
Lol. Eating out of the jetboil while it is still connected to the gas. Great vid as usual Trev
This year has been a bit slow for everyone by the looks of it... Good to see ya Trev x
Yea - life has taken over a bit! Enjoyed editing this though so must make the effort to get out more! Cheers for watching!
That bit where you were all getting battered by the wind on the trig point was quality. Hope the lads you were with had fun 👌🏻
Absolutely! Was proper blustery up there! All had fun though, so thanks for watching!
Good to see you back out again. I bet you needed that 👌👍
Yea, I bloody did. It's been a busy old year!
Nice to see you out and about again Trev, glad you all had a good camp even though it was a bit wet and windy 👍
Yea - thouroughly enjoyed this one, and to be honest, a bit of wind and rain added to the experience. Thanks for watching!

Something for another video as a discussion point, why are they called Tors, and what are their histories?
Its a celtic word for tower apparently!
Try smearing a bit of vaseline (other products are not available) in the valve Trev. Seems to improve the seal. Crackin' vid fella. 👍🏼
Great suggestion! cheers
