Also, layer a sine wave with a sawtooth wave but turn the sawtooth wave way down so its just adds a touch under the sine. Also, tape machine plugins are great for synth basses, choruses and flangers too when used properly, to add variations in the sound, to seem less monotonous.

Just remember that Jay Dee aka J Dilla programmed these beats using an MPC3000. There's no wave form in MPC3000 screen. He must have a great ear. Lots of producers these days rely on chopping the samples by looking at the wave form.
its funny with his beats, where lots of people suggest that certain sounds and moved into the past (aka shifted back in time), this insane pocket is created by delaying the sounds. Many might know this, but what got me was that it is delaying sounds you THINK are actually being advanced. Weird how its counter intuitive.
Would love to hear a talented jazz trumpeter like Roy Hargrove or saxophone player like Joshua Redmond riff over the top of this. Maybe bring in some authentic Guinean West African drum percussion to cap it off as a segued phase out at the end. Would be epic. 😊❤

This beat was all over TH-cam by the name "the apartment" I've heard it once or twice in old beat tapes referred to as "track #" and anything from 16, 74, etc. about a year ago it randomley vanished from TH-cam. If you type in j dilla the apartment you'll get some wackadoos rapping over this beat where as it used to come up with 5 or 6 results for this beat with the correct name.
What else is there to rap about i don't know i don't think I can figure it out but it's okay i guess no more pain and stress. Just less and less and it's hard not to be depressed i need something to get my mind refreshed maybe a new beat by j Dilla will do the deed rest in peace Jay dee
