Ofcourse the players don't run for the whole game but an average football player runs 7-9 miles per game while the average for basketball players is 2.5 miles and Tennis 5.5 miles. Football is the team sport where players cover the largest distances per game on average.

The reason the defenders keep their arms close to the body or behind the back is to not be hit by the ball because that means it is a handball and the other team gets a penalty kick or a free kick depending on where the handball was, inside or outside the box. They're not really scared, they just want to protect themselves.

If you're going to watch any games just know that some games are absolutely shit, and some are very fun. Especially in the 2nd half. If you actually understand the Premier League table and how placements matters, as in top 4 gets Champions League football, 5th and 6th Europa etc it makes games even better as you know that even if a side is sitting 6th they still need to try to get Champions league or Europa League.
Just turn on a close game in the last 15 minutes and it'll definitely be a good game to watch for you.

Basketball has so many breaks and timeouts I can't even count. Football has one break and that's halftime. That's it. Unless someone gets injured or they're preparing for a corner or freekick, nobody gets a breather. Football players defo have more endurance cos they run way more miles and without much rest. Only 3 subs allowed per team for the whole game. 5 in some leagues because of COVID recently. So chances are you're going to play the full 90 + added minutes.

This is an old video of course, but at 11:00 when you are talking about the guy walking, you have no idea what you're saying. The entire team is not meant to all just crowd the box and defend, if that guy sprints back into the box, that leaves space outside the box which is far more dangerous in this instance, as there were plenty of defenders there to deal with it. You also took 4 seconds out of a 90-100+ minute game where there is only 1 half time break to 'aid' your point. People aren't disrespecting basketball, I don't know if you know, but basketball is quite big in Europe, lots of amateurs from the US back in the day used to go to countries like Lithuania for example to play professionally to get a start. People say football is more demanding and difficult than basketball, well, because it is. Doesn't take anything away from basketball or any other sport. I don't think you fully realise how good you have to be in order to be a professional footballer at the highest level. Some lad in League 2 (4th division) in England would run circles around any decent amateur player.

Average basketball distance covered is 2.55 miles, of which is medium-high intensity play. Average distance covered by footballers is 6.3 miles, for 90-100+ minutes every game with 1 break. Midfielders cover 7 miles + usually. Footballers average 80-110 sprints every match. Basketball players are more explosive whilst also being very athletic, but they don't have the cardio and endurance of footballers, sorry to break it to you.

    love your reactions brothers.
And as an European; yes. Hockey might be the most difficult sport on this planet.
But bro's. Tennis lol? My goodness. tennis is stupid difficult. Stupid hard. And that us just technicals right, hitting the ball back. 5 hours. Non-stop. In regards to pure athleticism it is tennis on on nr. 2, after hockey.
ask yourselves. why do you even know Federer Djokovic and Nadal? Mentally the hardest sport, it aint close, athletically top 5. MAN. Tennis is stupid hard and stupidly frustrating. Id know haha

U guys should actually take a minute and read the comments because there’s a lot ur wrong about, footballers run more than nba players on average by a large amount in a game very big difference even I was surprised, also the nba is not the league of the world that’s in America just how every country has a league, for u to come and say football has so many leagues like every country don’t have a league 🤦‍♂️ the reason why u see so many football leagues is because people actually watch them all over the world, I like basketball but it’s just Americans watching it, it’s very competitive and u need a lot to become a good basketball player but it does say a lot about the sport 🤷‍♂️ and to add on about the running, football players run with a ball using their feet not hands, so you have to run with 2 legs and u use those same 2 legs to push the ball forward and to shoot, whereas a basketball player uses his 2 legs to run and used his arms to move with the ball big difference, I agree that in terms of physicality basketball players are a different breed but overall fitness definitely football
