That's the best and most informative clay shooting video/tuition i have seen in 40yrs of shooting. To achieve that great score with all the background interference was outstanding. Take my hat off to you... as i appreciate the skill and ability required to make this video... Thank you Ben.
What a fantastic insight. I am almost certain that this has never before been provided by anyone of similar caliber. I hope that this can be done again as I found it very informative. Thanks Ben 👍
Best video on TH-cam that shows a round and pulls it all together with good videography and explanations, as usual Ben selflessly giving time and expertise to the shooting community. 👍
Excellent video Ben . Thanks for taking the time to produce and post a live video of you in a tournament. for the sake of the viewers , I re-watched it on a bigger screen rather than my phone/tablet and that made a significant difference. Great stuff for all levels I would think . Keep doing this if possible.
Please keep the videos coming. I thought 96 on a tough layout, talking to camera before and after each stand was an excellent score. The weather chucked a bit of everything in too with wind and rain for variety. Thanks again, the efforts you have gone to over the past months from lockdown monologues, interviews and zoom chats with top shooters across the globe to complete rounds is much appreciated.
Absolutely fantastic to see a top shot put out content like this. Unedited no BS, Ben thank you. I can see your channel helping a lot of guns out. Off to watch your lessons now, twice at least👌🏼
Wow as a newbie at 51 this is the best video I have seen, love the explanations and the calm way in which you describe the techniques you use - awesome👍
Ben, only into the sport less than a year... based in US so mainly dove/duck hunting growing up. I've subscribed and obviously been watching/absorbing your videos and amazing information. No other better video online or better way to connect with fans and aspiring shooters than this. Keep up the drive for success!
Ben makes it look all so easy, but hour upon hour of practice has enabled him to do this. That's what it takes! Top bloke for talking us all through it. Thanks.
Ben only just subscribed the other day just got into shotgun shooting I always use a rifle i shoot a shotgun like Roy Orbison at the moment you make it look so easy also getting my 28-year-old son involved to try and keep him on the straight and narrow it’s not easy doing anything and explaining to someone else at the same time let alone being recorded yourself as well total respect it’s a pleasure to be on board.
Good on you Ben for putting your wealth of knowledge up for all to see. Just had my first SC competition. I'll be watching your full set of videos for sure!
Ben, this is a great video. I'm relatively new into the clay sports. Was invited to participate in a sporting clays event 7 years ago and "got the bug". That brought me into trap as my regular league sport and shoot sporting clays for special events. So much fun and truly enjoying it. It takes time, skill and patience. 👍. Fun to watch how easy you make it appear. Thanks.
Good to see you guys are back in competition. We have just resumed competitions here in Australia also. Enjoyed the video very much and learnt something from it and have just subscribed. Thanks Ben, cheers from Adelaide.
Interesting how you say that the idea of thinking about what to say to the camera after you have shot plays with your head. It reminds me of a member in a small club I used to shoot at. He used to be near top of the leader board consistently, but then brought his other half and they shot together. His game dropped to a point where he was hitting maybe 40% tops. Everyone noticed it was once he brought his wife. We all thought it was that same mental aspect wrecking havoc. I myself shoot terrible when I go for a 'practice', then on competition days I just feel and perform alot better. Its such a mental game.... but I love it!
Great to see you shooting, very interesting to see how you approach each stand. Also your feet moving on left hand bird on stand 8 Thanks Ben Enjoy it 👍
Great challenge. Good to see these targets can catch out a veteran. So as a newer shooter it gives me hope. Good photography as viewer you can see and see how hard it is to see targets. Great lesson. I feel I am at a place I come home and try to visualize what I shot. Great lesson. Keep them coming!!
excellent video. Much to take away, for me , being willing to change foot position between birds is one i must address. Along with a bucketload of others :-) Thanks for all the free content!
FANTASTIC JOB! Thank you for explaining your shot technique as you went along, can really follow the target and watch your move on the bird! Equipment question: 7.5 and 8's mixed in? Did you do any choke changes? Thank you and your crew for a fantastic video!!
I’m pretty sure Ben doesn’t make any choke changes. He’ll use 8’s when the clay is showing a lot of bum or belly and perhaps the bigger shot on more distant edgy type clays. ( better penetration of edge on clays)
@@jasonmash6688 Hey Jason, not sure which peg the long springing teal and the close (green) incomer is, but Ben is shooting top barrel first and what looks to be an "open barrel" at the incomer. So he is moving chokes around. I know in the past he has indicated he does change chokes. At about 19 minutes into the video.
@@gjepw1 Yep. From 19th min he seems to shoot close crosser/incommer with lower barrel. It looks like lower barrel is without a choke or its internal one.... not sure if that's the case. Maybe it just looks that way, but seems like lower barrel is shorter. Would be interesting if @Ben Husthwaite himself would comment on that one.
@@JuruPanda He uses Briley extended chokes. so when removed lower barrel is shorter than the choked barrel. He might not be able to comment due to his close relationship to Krieghoff.
@@benhusthwaite9884 thanks Ben, learnt a lot watching your videos over the last few months. Gone from 50% average to 80% over a shoot. 👌👌 much more relaxed in a stand which has helped. Think mentally the ques given has helped a lot more than anything.
Another very informative video, Ben! I find the pull away method difficult to pratice on the course. I always use swing through. Any hints on how to start using pull away?
This course looks like the courses in the states here. I enjoyed this one I don't know how you film and shot at the same time and it came out fine. Station 9 was just like my 20 on Friday in our league Fn crazy shot thru the leaves at a mini. lol
Thank you for doing so much during the video. I really like to hear your thinking about how to shoot each target. Stevo32201 below is correct. I haven’t seen other instructors do that kind of video. It is worth watching several times. I am not used to such distances to targets. Wow! Thanks very much. Jim Georgia USA
On the 1st stand after the half way point (sim pair across the pond) I was surprised to see you shoot it that way round. I'd have done it the other way round, shot the quicker one early and let the 2nd hanging one just sit there for the 2nd barrel - right or wrong? Or personal preference? But that's probably why I'm not a world champion 😄 And how do you grab the shells out your pocket the right way round every time? 😂🤷♂️ Something I just never get right. Great video 👍🏼

Appreciated Ben. Takes some balls to shoot, explain targets, methods and try to concentrate. Never seen a top shot do anything like it! 👍
Very interesting, and informative, Ben. As a "late in life" novice, I found it very helpful.
Great round I really enjoyed it
And you are a great teacher and don’t talk down to the people.

A good watch and clearly a challenging course. Great shooting and nicely put together. Good work, thanks Ben👍

At about 18:00 the stand with the teal. You chnage your base (feet position) would you regularly change your stance between birds in a stand?
