Years ago I took an 1984 ugly brown root beer El Camino to Macco to paint it white-they did the jambs and all for a color change-when I went to pick it up a week later it all looked good and then I saw a long paint drip on the quarter panel-manager said no problem we will repaint it can you leave it another week-and I said just to fix a run in the paint-he said no we are gonna completely prep and repaint the car again-and they did they sanded the whole thing down like painting a white car and it came out great-
For $1500 for the actual paint job, it looks sharp brutha. Maaco is fine so long as you have realistic expectations coming in, which it appears you did. It's not going to be perfect, but a lot of stuff can be done (wetsanding, etc) to improve on what they do. Bet you feelin like Money Mitch pullin up on those BBS's!
Looks good, had a mini truck painted by MAAco back in 04, they did a decent job no complaint there but the paint they used was a cheaper urethane base coat lear coat..it didn't hold up well white truck 4 years later faded. different decade & on Long Island probable improved the paint quality..
Looks great, even though you paid a lower price....It always annoys why they charge so much if all you want is the original paint redone..... just flatten the existing paint, shoot on the new paint and then polish.. How garages can charge 10k is mind boggling.
@@clstravel I feel ya. I seen the process of high end jobs and low end it’s a difference that shows a flawless outcome. No dings, dents, paint drips, overspray, orange peel etc.
As a 41-year Saab owner, the ride is looking fire!

Looks good, I was thinking about doing the same for my wife's daily but then found an oil leak I want to take care of first.

Nice! Adds some longevity to it as well as looking great. The blemishes are minor and hard to see.
