What a succinct and informative introduction to Gramscian theory. I am a Ph.D. student in Politics at York University in Canada and I use the Gramscian theory of intellectuals/counter-hegemony as my theoretical framework.

Shrikant Modak from India, this comment is on your geopolitics as an alternative explanation for economic reductionism. Is geopolitics not connected, though indirectly with economic interests? I would still hold that generally behind wars, it is the economic interests are a driving force.

I find your lectures intellectually insightful and thought provoking. But then at times, you sound annoyingly ideological that is where you miss it. It makes the reader or listener look for other sources which can compensate for the bias or I should say, your political Inclinations... To give an objective and nuanced understanding of things. However I must say I have missed not a single lecture of yours. I watch them the movement you upload them. I hope , we can someday sit somewhere in LUMS for a coffee and talk about our differences that I have developed over a period of time with you after watching your lectures. Here I send you regards and good wishes from Indian administered Kashmir.

Sir ,with due respect to me it looks you treat(at least in this particular video) emotions and emotional decisions independent of material conditions. Which is not right (even contradicts your position you took in one of your video),as no emotion comes from thin air.And the saying that "poetry is shorthand of feelings" isn't verifys again the theory materialism.🙏
