Thing about Irish mythology is that the earliest versions of these myths were written by monks, who wanted to adapt the old oral mythological tradition to fit into the new Christian paradigm, so the orignal gods (which could've been kinda like a race of Olympians) were turned instead into magical, mortal peoples who take turns invading Ireland, and many of the stories and myths were changed. While there are certainly vestiges of original myths and legends preserved in these accounts, we will never have true originals and they will forever be looked at through the lens of Christian writers

The giant stood upon the ridge.
    The village slept below.
    The weary stars betrayed
the weathered lines upon his brow.
    The ocean crashed upon the cliffs;
    timeless, day by day.
The people came. The people went.
    He scarcely knew their names.
    He'd been their strong protector.
Their lives were short and few.
He'd fought and killed to keep them safe.
But now that time was through.
A fever spread amongst his flock.
He knew the men would fall.
He could not stop the murderer.
He was too big. They were too small.
    The giant wept in solitude.
    The village slept below.
He said his last farewell and turned
    for now he was alone.

For anyone who's interested, the pooka was in an old 1950's movie 'Harvey' , and the leanan sidhe was in an episode of the TV show Grimm (but was called a musai instead).
My late dad would always reference the Harvey movie when I was growing up, and I saw the Grimm episode just last week, so I was strangely hyped for those lol

Listening to the descriptions of these cryptids, and looking up some images, it's clear just how heavily inspired by Irish folklore Dark Souls 2 was. Also, the PS3 game Folklore is an interesting interpretation of the Irish fae mythology.

I'm pretty sure most of the damage was caused by intentional negligence in Hawaii because just think about it, you have rich developers that hated those Hawaii natives/plebs with their non-rich homes just sitting on such high value land but would never sell unless something bad were to happen to them and insurance fucked them all over because they'd never totally take a bribe (shares, profits, share ownership of some land) right... right? Its not that corrupt right? (yes yes it is)
