I assure you this is NOT AZERI dance. It's pure PERSIAN dance, not even a fusion. Please, watch more azeri videos to learn the differences.
Persian Classical Dance , Qajar dynasty style. It's a dance from Persian court of XVIII-XX century. It was performed by professional dancers-entertainters. It's way more rhythmic than the Miniature style. The dance performance usually contains a pantomimic acting , like applying make up.

Best classical persian dance I have ever seen. For anyone commenting that it looks Indian thats because the Mughals took Persian dance to India and they ruled Hindustan and classical North Indian copied traditional Persian elements!

Persian got influenced by indian dances. Indians have these hastas and mudras written in Natya Shashtra(drama/dances scriptures) which are ancient. Also the old Persian language is derived from sanskrit language. Hormuzgani still sounds like sanskrit even if iranian little bit changed.

@@meyou9338 No, basically Persian is completely different from Hindi and we do not understand a single word of Hindi. The only thing the two languages have in common is that they are both Indo-European, just like English in this branch. Iranian dance is also different I think the woman who left this comment is Pan-Turk Because it is very spiteful These people are always trying to connect us to India While we are counted separately They are anti-Persian. Thanx. The choreography is 100% mine - I never perform solos with someone else's choreographies. However, Helene uses music from the same album (unfortunately there is not much qajari music available). I'm currently learning from her in Anar Dana Berlin project, but our programme doesn't include Qajari dance.

India has never seen real Persian dance on its land except in small dance festivals. Kathak's 'Persian influence' isn't actual Persian influence, it was just a change of its motivation from a 'dance for Hindu Gods' to a 'dance for Muslim rulers', so its movements became more feminine and 'sensual', that's it.

It is similar to Azerbaijani dance and dress because Azerbaijani Qajars copied their dances and dresses from Iranians. This dance is pure Persian and dress is also Iranian. If you have doubt check Iranian old miniature paintings. You can search it online and see Iranians dressed like this for hundreds of years. The only thing different in Azerbaijani dance is Lezgin dance which is purely from Caucasus and not Iranian.

Qajars are Iranians, speak Persian and their entire court culture is Persian. Azerbaijan is a fake country founded on stolen Persian lands that the Qajars lost to the Russians.

finally we see some real Persian dance. it is so sad to see that there are very little no. of such beautiful performances and instead tons of belly dances with the Persian dance name out there. great job. two thumbs up. hope to see more.

Very well performed, indeed. Love the smiling, expressive face and the fluid movements! Isn't this Helene Erikson's choreography?
