I’m very lucky to own, drive and enjoy a FD2 for 3 years and 80.000 kilometres. It was my daily drive and i also drove on racetracks like the Nürburgring in Germany and Circuit Zolder in Belgium. Brilliant car! But the FD2 needs a few modifications. At first, change the suspension. I went for the Tein Flex Z, the ride went from very stiff and bumpy to comfortable without losing any control. The car also needs some engine modifications. Like a catback, header, airduct and retune. I had a Spoon exhaust, Supercircuit header, Spoon trottle body, Toda airduct, Spoon air filter and a retune. With these modifications you can beat a Audi S5, BMW 440 and slightly tuned Subaru Impreza’s. I miss the FD2 everyday.
I like them all and for me Type R = racecar for the road. I am fortunate to alternate between early NA type R ( 1999 DC2 ) and later models ( DC5, FD2 ) and they are all different but all have racecar quality engines from the factory with very high volumetric efficiency straight out of the box with plenty of scope for further tuning. Same goes with chassis tuning with a large amount of aftermarket parts available from many different manufacturers to suit different needs and budgets.
@@Monsters-bs1vm DC2 for old school B series vtec strong kick feel, as the 1800cc engine has very little torque down low and has no variable cam timing like the K series vtc system so post vtec feels like a totally different car, the car is light at 1113kg for ours on racing scales with 1/3 tank worth of fuel. DC5 is a lot faster, same 2570mm wheelbase as DC2. With an extra gear ratio and much more flexible and flatter torque curve it's in another league stock for stock, but the stream platform really lets it down with cheap, cost and space saving designs for the front suspension and steering rack. Also the gear linkage system is horrid, with a lot of built in slop and very easy to jam on the linkage when you shift from 4th to 5th gear if you exert too much force to the right. FD2 is a much longer car with a 2700mm wheelbase, same as a e36 bmw sedan. It has a very rigid body by 2007 Honda standards, helped by the very far forward a pillar base where it meets the short bonnet similar to ODC and Jazz designs. With the long A pillars and its angle I find they obstruct my view of vision ( for frontal cross traffic ) a lot more than I would like. Every time I get back into the FD2 be it from eg, dc2 or fl5 I need to be mindful of that and get used to that quickly again. The FD2 might feel a bit cumbersome against a DC5 but it feels much skinnier compared to a fl5, it's much easier to place the car on narrow roads and roundabouts in suburban streets here in Australia for us. The FL5 with its 1890mm track kills its urban agility much more the 35mm wheelbase increase over the FD2.
I am from Toronto so I have never seen an FD2 here, the closest car would be an FG2 which comes with K20Z making 197@7800. Very nice video though, definitely looking forward to seeing more Hondas on the channel.

(講多小小)其實呢代FD2真係嗰個80-00年代JDM嘅頂峰同末落嘅位黎。大家依家都覺得快就係好,快就係hot hatch。當所有車廠都focus喺絕對速度嘅時候,反而會淡忘咗低速就俾到特別嘅感覺你嘅車。
本田都係架,雖然你話依家嘅FK8,新嘅NC NSX都係好快,都係落場可以好快嘅車,但佢冇咗本田嗰種最出名嘅VTEC味道,冇咗嗰種類似'Turbo lag'嘅NA著tec感覺,其實就變咗同其實一樣係「死快」嘅車差唔多。大家都同化咗,反而冇以前慢d但有味道啲嘅車咁好玩。
睇下Edmond揸FK8同揸FD2,EK9,甚至NA2R嗰個笑容嘅差別就知邊架有JDM味啲,邊架有本田味啲啦🤤

搵㗎全原裝返嚟試就最啱!原裝扭力好、揸起上嚟更有力。NA Vtec過癮之處、就俾你有種Turbo車嘅感覺、突然間有一下猛加速、唔係好快但好上癮!所以好多時一揸都揸好快唔係冇道理、慢嗰時又可以遊車河慳油低扭又唔差、唔會揸得太辛苦。個六速密齒比波箱、段段都接得好好、平衡到加速同路面駕駛、引擎嘅power band好爽快、越上越有、同上轉嘅衝刺感覺銜接得非常過癮、令到個轉速錶有返一個真正嘅意義!今時今日FD2唔係一架快車、但嗰種人車感覺係非常直接、引擎嘅特性又表現到一副賽車引擎般嘅感覺、真係非常好玩!本田多人玩嘅原因之一、係佢好平就可以好好玩、好好feel!所以一直keep住咁多人玩!而家車廠做新車目標都係只係做商品、冇咗以前嗰種精神…可以聽到兩位專家嘅評論、非常開心!

因為DC5軚尺機嘅問題,佢連住對避震機,一low低會撬住條軚尺, 其實所有車一Low低橫濕就會斜左上去,導致懸掛嘅三角機何改變,轉向會軚感會好模糊.轉向會差左,落番個加長和尚頭,鄧番平條橫濕.三角機可就可以改善番

I just bought a FD2 a couple day ago. What do you prefer between dc2 DC5 and fd2? Fd2 is a beast as you say in your comment.

fd2真係我最鍾意嘅一部車 實用又得 飛又得. vtec 帶俾你既感覺真係難以形容 著tec個下真係熱血沸騰 會由心笑返出嚟. 但可惜 香港地玩車衰過做賊😞太落後.揸得type r 就預左係驗車場常客… 逼於無奈之下唯有放棄心愛既fd2 💔 睇到你地玩得咁開心 我都好興奮

有冇辦法搵返架原廠 避震嘅出嚟呀. Tein 絞牙避震 出名凳 同埋唔夠rebound. 不過當年車評都係話fd2 凳到甩肺.
個人覺得香港飛車嗰啲交通意外.係因為懸掛調教唔夠好. 香港路窄 冇犯錯嘅空間. 呢啲街車部部改 落場嘅spec. 架車本身速度已經好快. 所以一炒起上嚟就好大鑊

但係好明顯cl7副k20a爆好多 一著tec感覺真係超爽 但係軚感真係差d(同自己部f20 118i 比差唔多 當然好過vw golf/audi a3)電軚嚟講真係算唔差
唔係自己車所以唔夠膽試極限 不過好有趣各有特色幾好玩

早期的電軚回饋感粗糙感覺糢糊,現時的改善很多,但摩打旋轉阻力對路面傳來的訊息大幅過慮,感覺沒有油軚好,但因為成本重量可靠性等因素,電軚逐漸淘汰油軚。
