  • Modes are an excellent way to add customization to your automations, using them as restrictions, conditions and triggers. See how to set up your modes and how to set them using the built-in Mode Manager app.

👍 - _also_ for the YT algo! 😊
P.S.: I personally never used Modes... Isn't it like e.g using global variables (or virtual switches)? 🤔

Global variables and virtual switches can definitely achieve the same effects as modes. For many people, the mode concept is easier to grasp and Mode Manager makes them easy to visualize. Modes and virtual switches are often used together to achieve different results as well. Perhaps a video on using virtual switches would be in order. Thanks for the like!

When using Modes controlled by Switches, is the reverse true? Will a change in Home mode also toggle the switch states? I know I can create 2 virtual switches to relay the Mode to Alexa: Home (On = Home; Off = Away). Then I need another switch called Away (On = Away; Off = I have no idea). But I want to change the switch states in Alexa and have that alter the Hubitat Home mode.

You need t explain the setting and examples in neewbee language same problem in the documention e.g.
The evening mode you do not explain what earlier of sunset OR 6:10 pm mean in real life examples + how this setting is usual versus Day.
Overall you need more non technical language otherwise you do not get the "apple" user.
