  • This is a type of buses you can see in Cuba. They call it camel buses, it's pretty obvious why! They are massive, noisy and very polluting. As you can see, they are not very comfy either

    Why after seeing this do I still have an insatiable urge to ride one? I mean it looks wretchedly cramped, yet I still want experience it?

    The first time I was in Cuba, our tour guide said a woman could get on a Camello bus a virgin and get off pregnant because of the crowded conditions :(

      I guess that's why suburban trains in Mumbai have women-only compartments.

    Taiwan & S.Korea are 2 nations that were in a similar situation to Cuba. Located next to a large hostile country & oceans away from their allies. Yet they prospered in the 70s & 80s while N.Korea foundered & eventually China had to open up to capitalism.

    That was the horrible thing that I ever seen in my life, Like, what the hell happened with the good quality of the public transport on cuba in that year, it is as if a lot of farmers and mechanics had buyed wood and some pieces to build this ugliness.

    Looks like they understand the real meaning of FREEDOM! I almost mean that as a joke. But, when I look at it in a certain way I am guessing that this is NOT "illegal"? Illegal this and illegal that is what makes US not free! So, even though this looks "unsafe" and uncomfortable...probably really stinky it looks like freedom. It would also cost nothing as it is uncomfortable and unsafe. I'd hate to be the one in charge of transportation in that city.

      Eh dude, do you realize it is just because they don't have access to foreign oil because of USA forbiding them to. it also explain why do they still drive such old vehicles form the 50's.

    • @respomanify
      @respomanify 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      TheResi42 They do have oil, leftist run Venezuela is nearby. And still even if it in place it does not explain, why they are using oil hungry trucks to tow low capacity bus trailers? Truck is made in USA, BTW.

      +Mirzabey Yet they still out rank us in world education! Yes, Cuba ranks #5 while we are # 36 yeaaa~! We're #36! We're #36! Woohoo.
      But seriously, while we have been spending 7+ Trillion fighting 15 year wars they've been dumping money into their public education and college systems. Their health care is actually equal to ours at about half the cost, similar to Canada and Mexico. Get the same procedures/medications at a fraction of the cost.
      Of course those countries Congress didn't pass a law saying that no future congress could regulate Pharmaceutical prices like ours has. Good ole Oligarchy, err capitalism eh?!

      JFeezy Cuban colleges and higher education are shit: see science publications rate: USA is 1st.
      Medical treatment in Cuba is decent ad cheap only for party members and paying medical tourists. Average hospital similar to 3rd world shithole by sanitary provisions. Of course it is way cheaper, but nothing compared to even Canada and Mexico.
